incapable of being anything better than average or somewhat Good QB because of his inability to throw a deep ball?
The more I see how many times he under throws Wallace or overthrows hartline the more I am convinced he can't be a QB that will make plays in that aspect. He's going to be a short to medium range QB.

That pass to Wallace was again under thrown. Again, Wallace had to slow down to try and catch the ball but by then 2 CB already swarmed around the ball.

    Nope.

I think he has potential to be a fine starter. He is getting screwed by a horrible offensive line and a coaching staff that appears, clueless.

At this point I'm concerned that they're going to do permanent damage to Tannehill by getting him physically and mentally pummeled every week. OL was a sieve in the 2nd half.

Don't forget a GM who might be one of the five worst in the league.

It won't matter. When we get a new GM and coach in here next season, they'll likely want their own QB. They might give Tanny another season since this upcoming draft will be a weak QB class, but Philbin and Ireland's doom is his doom as well.

Tannehill is way down the list of **** this team has to get ****ing fixed.

The way this team is being ran, from the management down to the coaching, is just plain atrocious. None of them out there have the intelligence and knowledge to be a step ahead of the competition, NONE.

I mean, how many sacks and hits today from rushers bulldozing runningbacks or just plain unblocked. Piss poor protection packages and play calling.

He seemed late on that deep ball to Wallace that was picked... and it was underthrown too. Thrown late, underthrown, no attempt to look off the safety... recipe for disaster.

That is a horrible play design. I'm sorry. Everyone and their mama knows Wallace will just run down the sideline and the throw will go deep. CB and deep safety cover means Tannehill can neither throw it short because of the CB, nor can he loft it there because of the safety. He has no window to throw that ball.

They have tried that play plenty, and always ends in a batted down, near INT, or INT like today.

If all the coaching brain power put together, and the best thing they can come up for a deep pass to Wallace is that play, then this coaching staff is full of ******ed fools.

I'm blaming the coaches first now. Offensive line 2nd. I think the coaching staff is turning into a big problem.

I don't think he's the answer. He's way too inconsistent. That Gibson TD throw was a good one but he fell apart the rest of the game. He holds the ball too long and stares down receivers. That Wallace pick was a stupid throw.

I wish we could get Winston in a couple years.

I'm sure if you keep banging the same drum, they will hear you.

You can't draft a quarterback at #8, and jettison all hope after 20 odd starts. That is what keeps bad teams really bad. Fix the coaching staff and the Oline. If, after you fix the MAJOR issues, he shows no growth then next season will be bad as well. then you move on. Having a non stop carousel every 2 years is insane.

No, what keeps the bad teams bad is drafting the WRONG QB over and over. You generally don't see the QBs do poorly with one team then switch to another and do very well. You keep trying and eventually you get it right...but that requires hiring the right people to make the selection.

At this point, its not looking good for Tannehill. Well, it is but it isnt. At times he looks great, at times he looks like Joey Harrington. He's very inconsistent. Now, where things get cloudy for me in making the decision on Tannehill... is the fact that I think our coaching/playcalling is particularly bad right now as well as our OL, and lack of a running game. So, im not sure if he's being held back by this offense, this OC, and this OL and the lack of a running game, or if its him. It's hard to tell right now.

Agree, Drew Brees was running for his life his first two seasons in the league and looked like nothing more to me than an average to below average QB. Thing is that didn't stop the Chargers from drafting Phillip Rivers and I don't see anything stopping us from drafting another QB if a new management comes in and decides that is what needs to be done. I'm in the boat that the offensive line is just simply horrible and this causes Tannehill to be constanty running for his life out there. There aren't too many QB's that are going to be good at all when they are constantly getting the crap kicked out of them. Brees even to this day as great as he is would be just an average QB without a quality offensive line. It starts with the guys up front in my opinion.
Tannehill isn't exempt from blame in any of this though. I have my doubts about him even with a good offensive line.

It's tough to say. We are one of the worst teams in the league against the blitz. Is that because our WR's don't make plays, we're not blocking, RTH or a combo?

He doesn't seem to have great pocket awareness and makes too many dumb mistakes. On top of that, you just can't win when your QB turns the ball over as much as he does. It's not all his fault but he is a part of the problem.

Yes you can when the goal is to win. Sanchez, Russell and many other quarterbacks have been given 2 years and came out with nothing and those teams wished they had drafted a quarterback instead of waiting for their scrubs to develop. Now the Jets are stuck with Geno when they had other options to go to previous years. Brilliant.
