Well, at least Timbo a toilet at halftime. Not like Larry Izzo, who took a **** on the sideline.

None. There was also only one called on a player whose last name begins with the letter "V". Hardly a coincidence.

Hahaha. How many then were on a defensive player, period?

I recall Mark Schlereth saying he'd just piss in his pants during games sometimes.
I think that was one thing that led to his nickname of "Stink".

A lot of them were actually special teams.

So none of the others were called on a defensive player?

I think one was. Trying to remember. I think Tyvon Branch's might have been on D.

Between offense, defense and STs, then it's safe to say it's least likely to be called on a defensive player, going by past instances?

I find some value in looking at average probabilities and how outcomes and player's performances compare to them. But we should be careful not to overemphasize the importance of the play in question. The shift in probabilities in the two potential outcomes is completely determined by what happened in the rest of the game. The huge change in probability is directly caused by the horrible second half we had up until that point. It was also directly caused by the good but not great first half. So yeah, very important play. But the play isn't as important if we're up by 14 or down by 14 at that point.

Too small of a sample pool to isolate tendencies. We're talking 10 instances in 3.5 years.

10 instances and as far as we know, the defensive players called have been Vernon and maybe Branch in 3.5 years?

No. I do know what I have been told, and they love him.

The only info I have gotten as far as a "evaluation" is that they thought Reshad Jones was a Superstar in the making. This was in preseason. I guess..not so good so far, but I like him. He has time to prove them right.

    Another Timbo Story....

    This one is popular.

Tim Bowens once sat at a strip club..ordered some ribs from another restaurant to be delivered. Once the ribs got there.....he took off his shirt (to not dirty it) and ate the Ribs. (the story of how many racks it was varies. I heard 3 racks..some say 4..some say it was just a snack of two racks)

Not a SINGLE bouncer went over to him to:

    A) Tell him he had to have a shirt on.
    B) Tell him to not eat another establishments food in their club.

This is a call which should not be made unless the "batting team" gains an advantage and recovers, and even then it should be marked from the spot of recovery or bat, not line of scrimmage.

or b/c he's 6'4 325 and the bouncers thought to themselves, "I'm not messing with some big crazy mother***** who takes his shirt off to eat ribs". :shifty:

One more story to end the night...

I watched this game at the Country Club of Miami. There is a Bar on the golf course (Sports Grill), and it is just a great place.

    There was a "celebrity" there.

None other than Cornelius Bennett. He was holding court, and I asked him a couple of questions. He was joking about losing 5 Super Bowls. (He lost with Atlanta too) and he seemed pretty sour about it.

While holding court he kept blabbing about crap and these are some of the things he said:

    - He says the NFL has a great pension and that he has no complaints. He says that some players participating in the concussion lawsuit are "full of ****".

    - He thinks he should be a lock for the Hall of Fame.

    - Compared to him, Ricky Jackson wasn't ****.

    - Dan Marino was the best QB he ever faced.

    - Jerry Rice is the best football player, but Calvin Johnson is better.

    - Dion Jordan is going to be a star. He saw him run with Gronk, and got a kick out of it.

    - He doesn't root for any teams anymore, but likes the Dolphins since he is a Fort Lauderdale resident. "I got no hate for them".

True Story: My friends asked me why I didn't get a Pic and schmooze a little...My response? "The first rule is...NO LOVE FOR THE OTHER SIDE....**** HIM."

Olivier Vernon also ran down the field with Gronk step for step. It was the Bull**** PI call on Wilson but Vernon's coverage on that play was good.

Just shows you how versatile all these defenders we have are, and how I can't wait for Coyle to get them on the field together on a regular basis.

Thanks for the stories, btw. Always enjoy 'em.

Hmm, some people here said Jordan could do that and should be used in that role, before the game, but were dissed by the majority of respondents.

Run the football. Play defense. Pick up the blitz. make a FG. Game over.
