Tannehill looked great on that late 4th quarter blocked FG drive. Some pinpoint throws and a nice scramble for a 1st down. Some bad passing lanes with Dlinemen getting their hands on throws plus the unabated Ninkovich sack on 3rd & short inside the Patriots 20 prevented him from putting a stamp on that drive after nicely moving the ball into scoring range.

Untimely sacks inside quality FG range are really killing us this year.

    Awww hell naw.

Stop feeling sorry for yourselves and watch the damn game, you'll see the best half of football Miami's played all year long.

A lot of the things we've been asking for, more running, better running, better pass pro, Tannehill evading the rush with his feet and checking downs to the backs, Egnew becoming an NFL player, a major upgrade at LT (and RT), Sherman calling a helluva game, Odrick blossoming into a Pro Bowl caliber DT, Wake starting to get his explosiveness back, the entire secondary playing lights out.

The loss hurts but lot of good things happened in that game.

Sherman calling a helluva game 1st half? Guess his calling 2nd half totally flipped that on its *** and then some. Jeckyl and Hyde.
Game is 60mins not 30mins. End of.

I knew that was what I saw on the replay. Philbin not challenging was a pretty big part of the loss. That was a definite reversal, even with those officials.

I don't see how you challenge with those refs. You'd get the same result plus a loss of a timeout.

I think we saw enough of Matthews, including that sideline catch, to say he should be an adequate replacement for Gibson. Our depth is gone now though.

I do not agree. I think if Anderson saw the view that Al just posted he'd have to reverse it. IMO, Philbin has to try, regardless of the officials. I had long thought Walt Anderson was one of the better refs. Remember, he didn't personally call the PI, (back judge) the def hold, (field judge) or the illegal batting,(umpire), members of his crew did. He would have been the one under the hood though.

I liked the play calling for pretty much the entire game.

We started the 2nd half with a quick march down the field and a missed FG. Ish happens. The second series ended b/c of a bad blitz pickup and poor ball security. Pouncey yells out "watch 26!!!" but McKinney must have thought the back was going to pick him up. That's not on Sherman. Another drive ended b/c the coaches failed to challenge Matthews' catch on the sideline, yet another ended b/c Sims doesn't get his head around to find the ball on a hot read, again, that's not on Sherman.

At the end of the game we get down into FG range to make it a 1 score lead with 2:30 and two TOs left and we can't execute. Play calling was not the issue at all.

Agreed. It was a 3rd down play so basically it amounts to a turnover.

Momentum went out the window when Mike Sherman stopped doing what had been super effective, outsmarted himself and started throwing every down with a 14 point lead.

Two straight CRUSHING losses. You have to be a Sadist to love this football franchise, I swear.

Most pundits have been saying the batting call was correct. Haven't heard anyone on ESPN or NFLN say otherwise. No comments on the other calls.

The call was close enough to be correct. The rule itself, and the result, stinks.

As for the Matthews catch, were there not any cameras from the other side? They usually have back, forwards left and right. I guess any back cameras could have been blocked by a leg or something.

To be correct, the batting has to be intentional. I see nothing from what Vernon did that says definitely he did or didn't. I guess the so called pundits think they are mind readers as much as the official did who threw the flag. Fvck every gawd damn one of them.

It seemed to me that Philbin wanted to challenge the call but was waiting for someone upstairs to give some direction. Had he challenged and lost, loosing the TO could have been just as much of a game changer.
