When there was talk of the Knicks trading up on draft night this was the player I wanted. Aside from being a Syracuse fan hes much better suited for the pro game. His D needs work but he plays the passing lanes well as you saw tonight. And offensively the biggest thing is getting his dribble lower because being a 6'6" PG he brings the ball up high. Wish he wasnt a 76er....

Bunch of fugazy contenders in Brooklyn. Good win for the cavs.

Knicks doing their best to play down to Milwakee's level in the 2nd half. Up 25 to tied. More turnovers then points in the 2nd half for NY.

His defense was impressive tonight in getting 9 steals. I like the size for the defensive end as well. I was surprised at his long range shooting tonight. For someone who was said not to have a great outside shot, 4 three pointers is pretty good in your first game.

His 3 point game comes and goes but hes adequate enough that you cant leave him to double someone. And he can post small guards with court vision out of the post which I dont know if you got to see tonight. Hes very good. I felt he should have gone higher and Philly did VERY well to get a top 3 (IMO) player where they got him.

I like what I have seen so far, and they also have who I think could be a solid contributor in Noel also in that draft. With a couple good draft picks this coming year and maybe a decent free agent to go along with what they already have, things may be looking up for the Sixers.

If Noel is as I think he is (Serge Ibaka-esque) and MCW is as I think he is (Cant really think of a good comparison but needless to say hes good) then I really hope some obscure team I dont give a crap about (like Sacramento) gets Wiggins. :tongue2:

Good for Sixers. AI retirement night, win over HEAT, their fans got their moneys worth. MCW nearly with a quad double, yikes. Would of been crazy. As for the game itself, very up, downish. Down 20, up 12. In the end, Spo left the second team without Bosh or Bron out there for too long. Still toying with the rotations. I think Cole should of been in there late as well. Don't really get all these fans who are all "wait till April" I mean were the 2 time defending champs for Christs sake  we gonna lose games, so what? Being as close to healthy as possible, that's my real only goal. On to the next one.

I think Evan Turner is finally going to show some worth as well. He and Collins hated each other. Turner looks in shape, and looks like he actually gives a **** for once instead of the *****y, moany guy we saw every game. That's probably the biggest storyline for me this season other than tanking and MCW.

No, the 76ers are obviously the better team and we should all push the panic button.

Enjoy it while you can. With half the team new we are still playing preseason. PrObably 25 games before the rotations are set and the defense comes around. I will be happy if we're around 500 after 25 then we start our march to the ring

After 25 games you should get 10-20 really quality games in before KG and Pierce have their annual old folks production dive.

Well if it makes you feel better Jrue Holiday still think shes playing in Philly: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...um=referral&utm_campaign=programming-national

Youre not even going to win the division. I dont know what ring you think youre winning but unless they started handing out rings for 2nd place in the Atlantic Division youre not getting 1.

Ring around the collar? Ring pop?

If by nice and fresh you mean in bed by the time the playoff games start, then yes.

Also apparently people "jumped the gun" on melo's "I want to be a free agent comments"..... http://theknicksblog.com/knicks/mel...melo-i-want-to-retire-in-new-york/#more-48883

Loss last night was a bad one. Turnovers (1 by Melo), 3 missed FG attempts (2 by Melo) and missed FT (Tyson Chandler) in the final minute and a half all could have prevented the loss. That type of loss is the type that prevents you from getting a higher seed come playoff time. Just had to finish the game off smarter. Effort was there all around. Melo had 6 steals and 2 blocks and played good D, Tyson had 19 rebounds and 2 blocks and played good D. Shumpert gonna shump....he played a big role in forcing Rose to 6/22 shooting and Jimmy Butler to 3/11.

If I had to make a WAG at this point, I think that Melo ends up in LA and they re-sign Kobe after missing out on Lebron. That sounds like a Buss move to me.

I am beginning to think that only the Knicks and their 3 pt. shooting can push Miami to 7 games in the ECF.

Problem is that the Knicks matchup better vs. Miami than they do vs. Indiana/Chicago

My gut feeling is actually just the opposite, its a Dolan move to try and get a big name after his prime. I know what should happen (Melo opts in for 2014-15 and then recruits Kyrie, LMA, Love, Marc Gasol etc) but I think Kobe could be in play if Melo opts out after this year.

I agree with this sentiment. Grunwald did a good job constructing a team that could give Miami a good fight but its a team short on rebounding and toughness inside.

It was always a waiting game with them. Now they have Derron, Lopez and company. If they keep those vets fresh, they could be trouble down the line.

As for the game, meh. Not consistent. Over last two years there were games in regular season that I cared. Celtic games in year 1. OKC games. Watched this game, literally did not budge when they lost. I mean Bosh was trying to miss for Christs sake and made the FT  that kind of night. I'm sure there will be loses that'll annoy me, but man...Healthy Playoffs, that's the goal.

disappointing win for the nets. Should have won by twenty or more but at least we're 1-1 and i just want to be .500 by game 20. we have a long ways to go on defense and the offense still needs to jell. the bench is going to be sick though. by midseason our bench will outscore every other bench by ten to twenty points per game. AK 47, Anderson, Livingston, Blatche, Terry. No one can match our bench. the offense should jell by game twenty, hopefully the defense does too though that could take forty. granted we havent played anyone yet so we'll see how we do when we play against a real team like indiana. that'll be a good marker to see how far we have to go still

Some Nets fan clown that started watching basketball about 8 hours ago. (Seriously, what kind of assclown would post a .gif of Pierce doing anything vs. a guy (Lebron) who has raped him repeatedly for going on 4 years)

Same ****..every year. They always learn the same way.

if you were actually trolling for an opinion...your bench is awful, and your team is painfully slow. If a 1 pt. wheezing, praying, lucky win is all you can do on opening night vs. a Heat team that hasn't started playing yet..well, you know what you got.

I thought they would be better.

    As for a real team..

Dwyane Wade looked good.....Battier is back to his 1 game great..2 games bad routine. Norris Cole is off to a great start. Lebron still doesn't have his legs. Takes him about 3 weeks usually. Save for the start of the Philly game...so far so good.

Oh..and I say lucky..because the Refs missed a call with 7 seconds left.

The Nets fouled Ray Allen intentionally OFF THE BALL. That is illegal, and requires FT's and possession. Refs I guess choked and forgot to call it, because Spo was asking them about it and they said that Ray had the ball..when he clearly didn't have it.

That was an all-time dumb play by what was supposed to be a Veteran club in BK. But hey, they got away with it.
