I can see where he'd think Jordan was struggling. He's made a few impact plays, but a few impact plays half way through the season for the #3 pick in the draft isn't exactly scintillating. I think we all see the potential in this kid, but let's not get carried away over a small handful of plays.

It's hard to have confidence in any draft that Jeff Ireland is in charge of.

Having said that, from what I've seen of Dion Jordan, he looks like he could be the real deal. It has been frustrating that Ireland drafted so many players with injuries especially in light of bringing in 2 corners who have yet to see the field when Carroll keeps on blowing coverage.

Jamar Taylor and Will Davis certainly have shown ability. But they wont start over Grimes or Patterson. Nolan Carrol has more experience with the coverage calls...and like it or not, Philbin's rule is...show it on the practice field. Players have to earn playing time. Like Sides said....rating our rookie class when the season isnt even half over is nothing more then nonsense.

I think it's better to have talented depth being groomed for the future than the Parcells style of sink or swim Miami had to deal with while he was here. It's always nice to have your rookies contribute but when you need to rely on multiple rookies to be starters you have scenarios like the '09 secondary that ended in disaster.

That and the fact they now have a HC with pedigree , decent Defense and a very good QB . That helps. Plus our ex Cornerback who was deemed average at best.

This. Its almost like Jordan isn't fully healthy yet. I've been wondering if he's 100% Is he? Who knows. The cloak and dagger approach regarding info on players is scarce.

Hard for me to say whether it is poor drafting, bad luck, or bad coaching in not developing young players. Whichever one of the three it is, we have suffered through it for far too long.

Dude you are talking out of both sides of your mouth on this one. If Ross listened to the fans, Ireland would have been gone long ago (despite what you see on this board the majority of fans despise Ireland and have since he stabbed Sparano in the back).

Now if they are playing elsewhere and are succeeding then its the coaching but if Ireland was good at his job he doesn't cut players that are good, he removes the coach (which he has the power to do).

Many of our former FAs and draftees are playing pretty well away from Miami. I'm not sure what point you were trying to make there. And many of those players weren't cut. They left via FA for money. His job as GM is to also not overpay. I'm not absolving Ireland of anything, but everything cannot solely be his fault.

I've found Dion Jordan to be very impactful. He was our best pass rusher vs Atlanta and sealed the game with hitting Ryan to cause an INT. He got us back in the Ravens game with his hit on Flacco. He helped out in stopping Rob Gronkowski. He got pressures on Weeden in Cleveland. If you just look at sack totals sure. However, he's been really impactful in the short amount of time he's played.

I am sure that is what Ireland is telling Ross also. As long as he can keep blaming his bad talent evaluation on the coaches and what they want, the better chance he has of keeping his job, while the HC takes all the blame. This worked once for Ireland, when he was able to convince Ross that it was all Sparano's fault a couple of years ago. Hopefully Ross is smart enough to see that the real problem is Ireland and after this season, it will be Ireland that finally gets the blame he has deserved for several years now.

I'm not sure where they have shown ability in the NFL. Neither of them have done a single positive thing during the regular season and they both were placed on the inactive list for the New England game. How this equates to showing any sort of ability at the NFL level is beyond me.
