This is our guy. You don't have to believe it but I do. He's got what it takes mentally and physically. I just really feel he's doing it alone sometimes

I like him. Don't like his fumbles, but I like him. I think he can make an above average NFL QB, just below elite.

I don't think this offense will let him be elite. Wallace absolutely refusing to make plays unless he's wide open, Sherman abandoning the run, every goddamn play is out of the shotgun, etc, its all holding him back IMO. We are very transparent on offense and it lets defenses tee off on tannehill. I actually think he's doing really well given our lack of support.

    He just might become elite.

If he learns to dodge DLineman like he dodges questions.

I agree with you that he's our guy. I am still a big believer. But let's be honest, the dude turns the ball over way too much and often in the worst possible times.

Yeah we should bench his *** until his 4th season like the Pack did with Rodgers...

Seriously though he is very inexperienced and I have no problem waiting until year 4 or 5 to see where he's at.

Losing Gibson and Keller won't help.

His development, along with Rishard Matthews is what I'm most looking forward to as the season progresses. I think this kid can be really good so long as he's not being torpedoed by his O-line...and in some cases, his receivers.

    Slightly left of center
Tannehill needs to explain to Wallace that every time he misses a pass by a Kitty cat like lack of effort he is going to give sturgis a free kick at Wallace's balls. And let sturgis know every time he misses a kick Wallace gets to kick him in the balls. Make the OL take off their helmets and slap the crap out of each other in the huddle every time they give up a sack. Unless its more than 4 seconds. Then they all get to slap Tannehill.

    Accountability in other words.

He's really improving his communication skills in these press conferences/Q&A sessions.

We haven't thrown over the middle at all though at any point this season. We only throw outside, or quick slants. Seems to be a limitation with Tannehill at this point and the coaches are trying to protect him to sticking to the throws he excels at by spoon feeding him easy stuff.

Listened to him talking about Matthews: "Most physical receiver... Physical off the LOS... Really strong hands... Can go up high and catch a ball over a guy..."

Not sure if all or any of that was jab at Wallace or not.

I'm sure it wasn't a jab. I hate on Wallace for being a soft turd as much as anyone, but Matthews being physical and strong has nothing to do with Wallace playing soft.

Yeah, figured he was just giving Matthews a vote of confidence. Still, everything positive he said about him is part of the knocks on Wallace this season. Damn, I hate losing Gibson.

Now that we have McKinnie, I'm hoping that Tannehill will have more time for deeper routes and plays for Wallace. Still not sure why we avoid the middle of the field and only work the outside. We've only used 2/3's the field all season. We're limiting ourselves and our production. This is where losing Keller has affected us most I think.

Agreed there. And the worst part is i remember Henne doing the same thing often. Still, I think RT has what it takes, i'm all in for the immediate future with him. The thing that jumps out to me the most is accuracy - he's got it on everything but deep balls currently

I believe in Tannehill being a solid QB for us long term, I'm just worried if we don't start protecting him soon he's going to become another David Carr.

I blame Ireland and Philbin more than Tannehill, and when they're all gone next season, hopefully we'll have some coaches and an OC who can develop Tannehill into what most of us believe he can become.

I was struck tonight by the fact that Tanny has not whine at all. Unbelieveable. There are plenty of veteran QB's that wd be squealing like little girls if they were getting sacked as much as him. Very class. Focused.
