So was it a catch? I'm talking about the one late in the fourth. Did the second foot touch grass?
Just asking here, what's your opinions?

I initially thought it was not a catch.

Considering the amount of absolute BS calls that were thrown our way the last two weeks....I honestly don't care if it was in or not....frankly.

I really don't want to get into the other calls, but I do believe the DB did hit Hartline a split second early on the other one.

It wasn't a catch IMO, I thought his hand touched out of brounds to break his fall before his second foot touched (If it did at all, couldn't really tell). I was real nervous that they were gonna' challange or booth review it. I was screaming for them to hurry up and hike it. He sold it pretty well though, it was close. Hartline has pretty good sideline awareness, Amani Toomer like.

I thought so. Also thought part of his leg was down before he was out as well so that's as good as two feet. Helluva catch. Boy is money on the outside.

What's funny is Deion Sanders after the game thought that play was legal. I started laughing when he said that.

    Here and there
Exactly, what's amazing is that Eric Davis and Dion Sanders said it was a clean play, unreal.

Hartlines catch looked good to me, refs saw it as a good catch and if the play was reviewed there wasn't enough to over turn it.

This is a still frame I found last night. When he initially caught the ball, both feet were down. His right shin also hit in-bounds first. Catch.

The referee guy that the NFL Network talked to after the game said they looked at it and "confirmed" it was a catch.

That was enough for me. :pointlol:

Nice shot, yeah I guess it was a catch. I couldn't really tell from the live footage. Do you guys know if the ref's get a frame by frame picture shot during review?

It may have hit the grass early, but it wasn't dragging. His foot was off the ground most of the play.

Yes, they do, and from multiple camera angles. The reason most thought this wasn't a catch is that the NFLN mostly showed the other angle after his catch and the left foot raised a inch or two off the ground and skimmed across. They never showed all the angles to the viewers initially.

Yea, just look at the video from the other side, (Hartline coming at you), never saw it touch. Glad the call was ruled right, that's the bottem line.

I think he was being sarcastic because he was a DB. you can hear Eisen comment on how Deion was laughing when he said that.

No... outside if Eisen, the rest of them are fuggin idiots.

Sapp and Sanders are defensive guys. They never like giving credit to the offense. They are there for entertainment purposes and opinions.

In the still frame it looks like his feet are down but in the video that NFL2102 posted, it doesn't look to me like the right foot actual touches down until after his arm touches out of bounces. However, I don't think you can say definitively one way or the other and since it was called a catch on the field it would have stood a review.

From the one pic, it appears that his left foot is down before he goes to the ground.

His left two drags the ground for about a foot before his knee lands out of bounds. Obvious catch to me. If it was in NE then it's ruled incomplete and we lose a challenge. You would think they would have some kind of tech like tennis does that gives irrefutable evidence. How about a sensor on the ball to give the exact spot. Whatever, I think the refs do a horrible job and they need major help because they have ruined the Dolphins season with the consequitive 2 PI calls in the Balt game and the horrible calls in the NE game. Two losses are the diff between 10-6 and 8-8. There's just too much at stake to not have more accurate on the field decisions from the refs.

viewed together pairing video to still image above; you can see clearly both toes/feet in prior to touching out of bounds - and exactly when the left toe contacts.
