This is a continuing lie spurred on by Incognito calling out Shefter.

People have to understand there's no accountability in the sports media world for passing lies. You can put the wrong stuff up left and right as long as it brings publicity to your agency/company/paper/channel/etc.

Shefter says it was a "source". The more obscure or non-descript the "source" is the more bull**** the report is.

Our local media has a vendetta against the team because Philbin won't divulge every last bit of info they want him too and now members of the national media are about to have one too, because Ritchie dared to call them out for there lies. All they have to do is double down on their bs and it becomes an even bigger headache for us than then it is for them.

    And its all still lies.

    All lies?

I will be very surprised if there is NO substance to these reports. Pleased , but extremely surprised.

    Here and there
    (((Ring ring)))
AS: Mr Source what reasons wouldn't Martin file?
MS: Well could be many reasons.
    AS: Like?
MS: Well they could be waiting for to see if they want to, or if it's a valid compliant, or maybe they need to legally get thier ducks in a row.
AS: Ok Mr Source is there any other reasons? Like maybe he feels afraid to return?
MS: I guess that's possible he could be afraid of some kind of retribution.
AS: from another player, maybe that's in disguise,,you know "incognito"? ;) ;)
MS: Sure ummm i guess.. he could be incognito.
    AS: Thank you..(click)

AS: Mort, Martin is afraid of retribution from Incognito.
    CM: Print it!

Until it comes from Martins camp that it is directly related to bullying then its just speculation.

Martin left for personal issues. That's the beginning and the end of the facts we have. Everything else is conjecture.

I don't know why you'd be surprised either, considering all the lies we've gotten form the local and national media starting last offseason.

Absolutely agree we have not gotten 100% validation on the accusations and reports.

The report is they have a trail of texts and messages substantiating some , maybe not all , of the claims regarding this . I may be wrong but I doubt that is proclaimed if it isn't mostly true. This has some things to do with Martin and him leaving , but more is coming out. If he was pressured to fund a Vegas jaunt for players and he indeed did not go , if veterans are taking advantage of rookies to get things for free , those are issues that should be brought out imo . All rookies paying their share for one team meal isn't an issue , however if it goes well beyond that it certainly is imo.

We'll see , but when Jeff Darlington provides a story I for one belief it unless it is proven to not be true.

I hope if there is a so called investigation, it is a learning experience for all involved and less a witch hunt. But I am afraid there will be elements of the witch hunt and less learning. And there will be a polarization of those who want to keep the locker room experience the same and those who want to see some things change.

Nobody on this board is giving this story strength. This is the media, right or wrong, diving into what they consider to be a timely and juicy story.

Regardless of the nature of sport everyone deserves the right to work without harassment or abuse or intimidation. I'm not saying anything happened, I. Just saying what should be evident. I hope Martin returns and everything is sweet. I hope cogs is proved totally right. I hope this is all b.s..

Hey everyone... quick background on myself - born and raised in SFL, lifelong fan of ALL SFL teams, moved to AZ after college, now living in Cali. Normally don't post but wanted to make an account to dispute this. Like I mentioned, after college I moved out to Glendale, AZ for work in a professional office setting. One of my coworkers that I was closest to due to being similar age and start date went to high school with Incognito. He told me way back in the day (before Incognito was even in the NFL) about how much of a jackass this kid was. Typical dumbass behavior such as bullying, EDITED BY MODS, out of control drunk, etc... pretty much standard issue for someone who has always been bigger but dumber than everyone else around him. I COMPLETELY believe this current story and in this case for me it's definitely guilty until proven innocent. As a Dolphins fan, I hope they cut his ***.

Hope Incog wasn't bullying Martin, and that it's something else that went on.

When I met Richie last summer I said "Make sure you look after the kid to your left his year. He'll need you." And he was like "Oh yeah! Of course,!"

Apparently they're making something known that is upsetting a certain group of this forum. It upsets them not because they dislike the news, but because they dislike that the news is being reported.

So, we are indeed going with the shoot the messenger plan. OK, glad to know.

Understandable. I actually debated posting that part... and I hate that my first post was of such a negative variety, but I just wanted to get it out there so you guys aren't surprised if and when more stuff comes out. People who act in a deplorable manner their whole lives rarely, if ever, change. And also if anyone thinks my co-worker had an axe to grind, it was actually the opposite... it was more like bragging about some guy he went to HS with that had a chance to be a good pro 'if he ever stopped acting like such a jackass'. Anyways, I guess we'll see how it plays out but most importantly I hope the Dolphins somehow come out better from this!

I am not getting that vibe at all here, I am getting that people don't like that the media isn't going through Martin for the accusations but through "sources" and considering the fact (mind you) that Cogs was wrongly reported about being directly involved in a fight in a club a year ago by the same two reporters is what seems to be upsetting people. I think people want accurate reporting not jump to conclusion reporting or yellow journalism. The accusations very well may be true, but they create this kind of buzz to get hits and to be the first on the scene and get credit..it feels like leaching, and in turn people don't get the correct information. "my source my source my source" like we are just supposed to believe that.

Now somewhere out there lays the truth, somewhere in between all the sources, the statements and the hurt feelings. And it will come out, but after all that there will be uninformed half truths that can damage peoples reputations and lives on both sides of this.

All a lot off people are asking out of the media is accurate responsible reporting and if that means refraining from reporting words from "sources. rumor mongers and 2nd hand witnesses" until they have something that has actual proof and substance then please do that. But all we get is "lets throw everything at the wall and see what sticks". All we have right now is that the Martin camp told the Dolphins org. that there was player misconduct, not who, not dates times nothing.

So until then. Let Martin tell his story, maybe there is a lot to this. but maybe not, maybe it's the norm and he is over reacting, or maybe its the beginning of a culture change in sports as a whole and nobody really did anything malicious that hasn't been done by 1000's of others and we see that there need to be a change to that culture. In the mean time the media is being irresponsible and careless and basically showing their colors as not really caring for people on either side of this but just themselves and their own advancement and glory.

I know I'm new but I've been a Dolphins fan my whole life. Dad used to split 2 season tickets with his friend and take me to 4 games a year. End zone, first row. First autograph was when I ran into JT and Zach (edit: and Derrick Rodgers! :) )at Pete Rose's in Boca. I'm not a troll and it's not made up information. Incognito is a jackass. And now an indefinitely suspended jackass.

    Wow...

As I have said several times in regards to this last black eye for the Dolphins , I believe Jeff Darlington . So if indeed he has been suspended I would presume they know of some actions that are lets say less than complimentary.

Who knows how this implicates salary etc?

If the Dolphins know there is no accuracy for these reports and no behaviour that crossed lines , they would not suspend a player imo .

Because the investigation wasn't officially on till a little bit ago.

Let's not forget that the team and NFLPA nave both said there was no investigation the past few days.
