With all this drama with our OL, the real victim here is Ryan Tannehill, especially if the makeshift line gets manhandled and derails his progress through year 2.

This hurts us in many ways, specifically in how the team assess his performance and determines if he is the franchise QB we all want him to be.

The question is, can Tannehill lead this team through the ineptitude of the coaching staff and FO, and somehow rally the troops, or is the team on the verge of implosion?

Tampa nearly upset Seattle in Seattle yesterday. Monday night will not be a cakewalk. The players need to shoulder the burden and step up with the coaching staff mired in controversy this week. Next Monday has the potential to be brutal - Imagine if we get blown out against the winless Bucs. The players need to take it upon themselves and rally together, and next week will be a huge indication in their ability to do so - Especially Ryan.

"Makeshift Offensive line" existed for the first 8 weeks anyway, how can it hurt to change things.

Somewhat agree.. It's the distractions off the field and how the team responds to them that I'm concerned with.

I think you're right, but I also think that there's only so much one man can do, and I'd bet Tannehill has been doing what he can to get the team through this episode. We just found out about the details, but they've been going on since Spring, which to me means they've been going on a lot further back than that. That shows that his play can go through these issues, but that the team suffers regardless. It's hard to play when people are throwing racial "insensitivities" and threatening comments around the locker room. Makes for an uneasy walk-on-eggshells work environment.

On the veteran-rookie ladder, while Tannehill is no longer a rookie Incognito is still a veteran over him, and I can see how this could be troublesome as far as listening is concerned. Martin may be more apt to listen than Ingcog because he is a 2nd year man, like Tannehill.

I've singled these 3 out because Martin and Incog are the guys currently being reported on, and Tannehill is what your post is about. If you want to put Pouncey in the mix having to be subpoena'd to a murder trial probably can't help the work environment, either.

To get back on topic, I think it is really going to take every player to lead through this, and I'm not trying to sound cliche with sports stuff, but those that really want to be on this team and play for each other is what I think we're going to find out vs. Tampa.

Distractions? Players rarely give interviews anyway, and they rarely bother with the media as a consumer as they correctly believe 90% of it is pure garbage especially in season.

We got a new left side to the offensive line, keep in mind Garner replaced Miller and we had our best running game of the yr vs a tough Bengals defense.

lost in the shuffle... is how things couldnt have turned out much better this past weekend for the phins chances this year. Tannehill has already been operating behind an insufficient o-line that's hindered his growth. We are losing Incognito for the forseeable future.... and while he was considered one of our better lineman, he may have been distracting teammates focus.

If this situation has an effect on game results, i think it will be because of the distraction..... much more so than losing a decent Guard and below average Tackle.

As far as I can see it we have mediocre players replacing mediocre starters .Mc Kinnie has looked good only because what we had was so bad.

The only OL I am concerned for is Pouncey .Its not easy to replace him.

If getting Martin and Incognito off the field leads to a more cohesive, but overall less talented unit, I wouldn't be that upset. I feel like an offensive line is always more or less than the sum of its parts. Heck, the team looked pretty good against a very stout (even without Atkins) Bengals front 7 last week.

If, however, the offensive line is really a train wreck, I hope that we change some things schematically to limit the amount of times Tanny gets hit.

I think the highlighted is the big question, and if he can, that'll say a lot about him as a leader and as the team's QB going forward. If he can't, I'm not sure what it says about him, but I think it won't be perceived well (and didn't Bill Cowher just say "perception is reality in the NFL?).

Perhaps part of the problems with the O-line was the fact that the Left Tackle was being bullied by the guy standing right next to him! (Granted that doesn't excuse Clabo)

At least Nate Garner isn't bullying McKinnie.

It looks as though Cognito really kept messin with an already disturbed individual, as early as possible we need to recognize those with emotional problems and adapt our own personality to help them get thru their issues.if he didn't do this than fu&$ him..

I will say this y'all, and it's the only good news that can come out of this....we get to find out early what we have as a head coach..this is tremendous backlash, heat from all angles on a very sensitive subject that I personally take very serious..if he keeps this team together amidst it all it's a tremendous endorsement for him moving forward, if not, then the same rules apply..
