No. That is why I said he pushed it too far. There is always going to be a certain amount of locker room stuff that goes on, hazing, talk, rituals or whatever. I believe that some of that is necessary to a degree as it normally will bring a group of guys together. However, abuse is abuse and any of the hazing and whatnot should be stopped short of that line. It is fairly clear that Incognito (possibly others) has no idea where the line is or that a line even exists.

As far as the twitter war currently raging, all members of the Fins and their families should just stay the heck off of that for now. I like twitter for instant news updates and the like but there are alot of bozo's out there that have no freaking clue how to act. I see more stupidity floating around that "forum" than anywhere else. It turns into a ridiculous free for all.

He was only subpoenaed to testify, right? Probably other members of that Gators team they were both on were also subpoenaed.

Is it clear that Incognito did anything that doesn't regularly occur in locker rooms? The only thing I can see at this point is calling him the N-word.

No, the people that suspended Incognito aren't the most privy to the relationship that existed. The people most privy are the players.

Honestly, I believe the N word is most likely thrown around with an alarming frequency in a lockerroom by all. You do not appear to have read any of the texts or other information that has come out in regard to Incognito and Martin. At this point it is one-sided but apparently the Dolphins have enough information at this point to suspend him indefinately, so yeah, I'd be willing to say it was outside the norm.

The Dolphins don't need a requisite amount of information. They need a reason. In this case, that reason could be optics. What will ultimately tell the story is when Jon Martin and other teammates finally make their voices heard. We are basically going off a few random media reports.

Something dawned on me, if Martin started saving v-mails IN April, he must have been already taking steps to go ahead with this if it didn't get better.

He spoke to Philbin in the spring.

So he had already brought it to his attention. Then everything died down and martin started participating in hazing of the other rookies and players.

All of a sudden, we bring in McKinnie and move Martin to right...he gets distant and then over reacts to a prank that he himself participated in a week before against someone else.

What I find interesting is Jonathan Martin's Twitter... an outsider's perspective is he and Incognito got along fine. If they weren't friends, I don't see why they'd hang out outside of football... ie, Heat games, etc.

I think ultimately this is going to turn out to be an issue of the media exploiting Jon Martin's mental health issues in order to create a story. Repugnant if that is the case.

What you say is quite possible. It's also possible that his team just outed itself as a rudderless free-for-all lacking in leadership and professionalism. Or a little bit of both. Everybody has a line. Martin's line was crossed. That's all we know.

It's unknown what the subpoena covers, but they would only subpoena him if they thought he had relevant information for the grand jury. But it's interesting that Maurkice Pouncey and other former Gators haven't been subpoenaed. It's Mike only. That's singular.

Channing Crowder speaking gospel right now!

Martin would be perceived as SOFT.

Crowder says "Martin comes back, if I were Jon Jerry I wouldn't talk to that guy. He going to put me on blast if I mess with him."

It seems to me like Martin is a big p***y who realizes he isn't cut out for a career in the NFL and conveniently scapegoated Richie so that he'd have an excuse to leave without seeming like a major quitter and failure.

Well, he doesn't seem to have the mental/emotional make-up for it. Regardless how this turns out, I don't want him on my team.

LaConfora said it was for Mike to be a witness against Hernandez. It wasn't mentioned that he is a suspect too. I guess that could come later, depending on what he says.

So apparently there are other Dolphin's players possibly involved, LeBatard just brought up 'what if' Wake is also involved does that mean he's gone too?

I'm personally withholding my opinion until more facts come out, and context is given to the facts we have.

With that said, isn't there enough drama in this story to recognize that Incognito wasn't literally threatening Martin's mother? The media just needs to STOP.

The other Pouncey didn't get a subpoena last night as far as I could find, so it would appear to be Mike specific in this case.

Agreed. No matter what else was said in the voicemail, and whether it was a joke or not, that was definitely a "your momma..." line.

As a member of this "media" I can tell you...it won't. This is a feeding frenzy and a SUPER-HOT story.

Then you throw in the agenda that some on the beat have, which is to run Philbin/Ireland out of town..and you get....THIS.

Most of these beat reporters use the Dolphins as a stepping stone to other jobs. They'll milk this story and burn their bridges with the Dolphins organization for all the national exposure it will get them. (Armando and Beasley the worst violators thus far)

I would like to see Coach ride the year out, to me it sees what he is made of.....honestly before this, what has Coach done to warrant being fired.....people even on here were JUST starting to question him before this story broke and after the "kill Sherman" bandwagon ran dry...

I'm not calling for Philbin's job over this, however, when you gut the team of vocal players, it's likely you also lose the guys who would be able to mediate a rift in the locker room.
