It's over, aside from the question of what Martin does next year.... Moving on with our season now. Some of us want to win games....

It definitely isn't over , and cudos to having an external review where negative information won't be suppressed or transferred .

Ross isn't selling this team , whether I or anyone wants that to occur , so that being so , from him down needs to be addressed and done properly. Short term pain for long term gain . FINALLY ... please.

Ross should start with the main culprit in this fiasco.
That would be him,the big eared clown that resembles a Buick with the doors left open.

I think its likely that this entire ****storm was caused by Aponte not wanting to pay Martin for the rest of the year.

The HC chooses his own assistants. If they're going to impose new coordinators on Philbin then they're better off firing him.

The most consistent thing about the Dolphins since Ross became majority owner is that the organization will eventually find a way to embarrass itself if given the time.

First he comes in as the owner and is more concerned with putting a place to dance and orange carpets in the stadium, along with trying to entice celebrity minority owners. This while the team was going from a playoff team in 2008 with Huizenga as the majority owner to mediocrity once Ross took over ownership of the Dolphins.

Next Parcells basically quit the organization in the middle of the season in 2010 with no exclamation

Ross decides to hire Jim Harbaugh, but fails to fire the HC he has under contract first. When Ross and Ireland are discovered in California and it leaks that they are there to try and entice Harbaugh to take the job, both of them look like fools when Harbaugh turns down the job.

Ross decides he feels bad about how Sparano was treated in this matter and decides to give him a two year extension on his contract. He ends up firing Sparano half way through the next season, but Sparano is getting a lot of money now to leave town.

After the 2011 season, Peyton Manning is thought to have the Dolphins as the top team on his list to play for. He has a second home in South Florida and the Dolphins are in need of a quality QB. Eventually Manning refuses to even travel to South Florida to meet with Ross and Ireland. Ross and Ireland end up having to travel to meet with Manning, even though by that time it was already obvious that Manning wasn't coming to Miami to play.

Ross stated after firing Sparano that he wanted to hire an experienced HC to take over the team. He waited quite some time, while Fisher debated whether he wanted to take the Dolphin or Rams job. Eventually Fisher decided to take the Rams job because he thought it was a better opportunity for him. So Ross, who claimed he wanted an experienced HC, decided to hire Philbin who had NEVER been a HC at any level of football.

Through all this, Ross continued to support Ireland, even though the Dolphins have not had a winning season since 2008 and Ireland has proven to be nothing but a mediocre GM in the NFL.

Throughout his entire time as majority owner, the seats in the stadium for home games continue to be filled with less and less fans on a weekly basis. He seems to think an upgraded stadium will somehow increase attendance. He obviously doesn't understand the South Florida sports fan. It isn't a new or improved stadium that will get fans to start going to games again. It is a winning and consistent playoff team that the fans of South Florida demand if you want them to spend their money to go to games. A below 500 record over the past 4 and a half years certainly isn't going to entice more fans to show up for games.

Hopefully Ross will examine his time as this teams owner and he will realize that things need to change drastically after this season is over. He should start by hiring a GM who can select quality talent which can finally turn this team into a winner. He should allow this GM to hire his own scouts and his own HC if he wants to. If he wants to keep Philbin around for another year to see if he is the right HC for the team, fine, but if not, I have no problem with Philbin going if that means the house cleaning has finally come to this organization.

It is all now on Ross to do whatever is necessary to finally stop making this organization the laughing stock of the league and instead take it back to being one of the top organizations in the in the NFL Just as it was when Joe Robbie was the owner of this team.

I don't see how the nfl stepping in is gonna help.. Mums the word from here n out.. Do you really think pouncey is gonna say yea the guy hounded poor johnathan.. When the nfl come to evaluate the locker room guys are gonna be on their best behavior.. Hell they might be in a circle singin kumbiya... No one in that locker room is gonna admit to anything... Joe is gonna deny and Ireland is gonna give the my door is always open song and dance.. Nothing will come of this, everyone is gonna say cog didn't step over any lines in front of them.. Yet we saw the hazing on hard knocks.. Sure hair cuts are harmless but you didn't see the constant ridicule.. Actually we say some of it, it jes wasn't bad.. And this stuff happens in every locker room except cogs is a Neanderthal with no home training.. You saw how his dad acts.. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree..

I would love just some stability and focus on playing smart football for some period of time. And to not resort on calling all the media and refs out as anti dolphin. I have heard about enough of that. Take accountability Ross and either make or rely on some smart people to make wise football decisions. Some damn intelligence for once. That may have been wrong but it felt good to say that.

Easy to blame the owner when the fans absolutely suck. The Ravens game, when we were 3-1 with a chance to go 4-1 was half empty and half the crowd that was there were Raven fans. In fact, some sections only had Raven fans.

We went out and spent money, the team performs and we still can't fill a stadium with a winning record and the team on an ascent. The same thing happened last year when we won 3 straight and played at home against Tennessee.

I don't know what you want Ross to do. The apathy towards the Dolphins started way before he got here and it's not changing anytime soon.

The posters calling for him to fire himself are going to attempt to buy him out since they know how to restore integrity to the franchise and develop a marketing program to bring back the fans even though they don't show up when we have hope or have improved.

It's horrible. If this continues for another decade or so I could see this team leaving Miami.

The games resemble a morgue. Sitting in a half empty stadium watching a team that has a legitimate playoff hope is beyond sad... I'm sure some fanbases have better attendance and energy for preseason games than we currently have with this team during the regular season.

Well, you may just have to get used to the idea that the big eared clown that resembles a buick is worth about $4,000,000,000.00 plus or minus a couple of hundred mill, and also owns the team. Unless you have the bucks to buy him out, fussing about his ears and his vehicular resemblance seems to me to be utterly inane.

The reduction is attendance has most definitely started under the ownership of Ross. Even in 2007, when the Dolphins were 1-15, the stadium had far more people in the stands than it does for games today. In fact attendance has continued to decline each year under the ownership of Ross.

What I want Ross to do is finally show that winning is his #1 priority. By keeping Ireland the last few years, when the vast majority of the South Florida Dolphin fans don't think he is the right man for the job. Ross has chosen mediocrity over the will of the majority of the fans in South Florida.

I am a season ticket holder and I have gone to every game this season. Yet I know many former season ticket holders and fans who used to go to games on an individual basis and many of these former seat holders will not attend another game until Ireland is replaced. As many of them have told me. They are tired of mediocre teams, year after year and the only way they can express their displeasure with the organization is by refusing to pay their money to go to games.

You don't have to agree with these individuals, but it is their money and they have a right to spend it anyway they want to or not spend it on going to games if that is their desire.

I remember in the late 1970's when the University of Miami almost stopped playing football because they were only getting a little over 20,000 fans to attend their games. They had been a bad to mediocre football teams for a number of years and fans in South Florida lost interest in them after so many years of mediocrity. Once they started winning championships and were a consistent winner, the old Orange Bowl was packed week in and week out for home games. It is all about winning on a consistent basis and nothing else matters in South Florida.

Ross should have looked closely at this market and the South Florida fan before he overpaid for the Dolphins. If he didn't understand that fans expect winning teams and won't support losing or boring teams. That is his fault, not the fault of the fans. No one forced him to buy a team in this market. He made the decision to do so and it is his responsibility to hire the best GM and HC possible to have the best chance of putting a quality product on the field.

It's easy to blame the fans, but they aren't the individuals making the plays on the field or making the coaching decisions or selecting the players for this roster, which have led to mediocre teams for the past four and a half years.

As the saying goes, the buck stops at the top. Therefore it is up to Ross to do whatever is necessary to put a high quality product on the field, year in and year out. If he does this and fans continue to stay away from the stadium, I will agree with you that the fans are a problem. Right now though, the fans are the least of this organizations problems.

"Hope" is not enough. The Dolphins need to be a team that wins convincingly against good opponents in substantive, exciting ways. Want to draw fans? Get strip sacks that turn into touchdowns. Get pick sixes. Fling the ball around and make long YAC plays. Score like crazy.

This team is not fun to watch, and the first purpose of sports is entertainment, so no one watches.

When the voters of L.A. actually approve the building of a new stadium, I'll worry about the Dolphins relocating at that time. Since I don't ever see this happening, there is no way the Dolphins are going to be moving to L.A.

In fact I think the Dolphins relocating to London is more feasible than them moving to L.A. and I think the Dolphins even moving to London is remote at best.
