Better for us if the Colts take this one.

We want WC put away, Colts have the AFCS on lock, Texans could spring back to life

Buffalo Trace is very good for the price. IMO, scotch is only good if you buying in the $60+ range. I prefer bourbon though. Eagle Rare is another that is good and not too expensive

I remember the days Vegas favored the other team facing the Luck and the colts a two score margin...lol...easiest money ever.

And here I thought your talk about three fingers and cigars during the draft was about whiskey. Had no idea you were talking about a lady. :shifty:

would that be good for the beginner bourbon drinker? Not sure if having a developed palate from beer & wine cross over to bourbon as well.

    Yeah totally. They are good

I think it will. It's also a mindset. Your sipping something very strong. No getting around that other than starting out with some ice cubes.

I certainly recommend using ice and letting it melt a little before you start sipping. And sip is what you should do. I pour drinks about 3 fingers high in a scotch glass. If you slam two of those, you will be pretty buzzed. So sipping is the best way to go. Drink a water in between glasses.

Both scotch and bourbon are acquired tastes. Some bourbons are pretty "hot" and you may never like them. I love Woodford Reserve and it is one of the smoothest bourbons out there. But it also more than $30. I hated scotch for a long time until I put my mind to it that I was going to try and develop a taste for it. I started with Glenlivet 12 and found it really smooth. Now I can drink anything and prefer the smokey/peat flavor of the Isle of Islay scotches like Lagavulin. If that was my first scotch, I'd never have went back for a second try. So start slow and let yourself develop a taste for it. Johnnie Walker Gold was my favorite blend, but they discontinued it recently. I've had black at bars when they didn't have gold and it was ok. Nowhere near as good as gold. Dewar's 12 is pretty good for a blended scotch. I am not sure what it runs price wise.

If you want to start out slowly, try something like a Manhattan or a Rob Roy. I love both. A Manhattan is a mix of bourbon or rye, bitters and sweet vermouth. A Rob Roy is a mix of blended scotch (like Dewar's or Chivas), sweet vermouth and bitters.

Also, while we are talking about whiskey; Tullamore Dew is pretty good among irish whiskeys if you're sipping straight. Jameson always catches in the back of the throat and Bushmill's is alright, but Tullamore Dew is where it's at.

Midleton Very Rare is the best Irish whiskey I have ever had. The problem is that it is over $130 a bottle. But man is it good.

I would hope so! I was more or less talking about bottles in the $15-$30 range.

True and I agree, just ranting because I'm sick of the players we draft going elsewhere and THEN being turned into good players.
