Dan Campbell asking Anthony Fasano to "stay on" Michael Egnew. "He's a good kid but, he needs to know how things go around here."

Not saying this is a big deal in and of itself. It's not. What I think is a big deal is saying this to Richie Incognito about a guy you may know for a fact has mental health issues.

I doubt what we will see on the Dolphin side of the line of scrimmage will resemble football. Crap like this saps a teams strength.

Players being lost and now coaches? maybe more?

I disagree with this. We're still talking about football here. I don't think this holds a candle to the thousands upon thousands of soft 18 year olds getting their butts handed to them by hardass drill sergeants. This is incredibly weak in comparison IMO, and pathetic on Martin's part. Those guys are getting trained to kill and be killed, yet Martin can't hack some petty stuff in the NFL where he knows its practice is commonplace and is aware of what's expected of him.

Outside of the military, a career in the NFL might just be the toughest and most physically demanding in this country, so I find what Martin did as gutless & appalling, and even more appalling is how the media is treating this as if it's a standard 9-5 job. In the military, what happens to a soft recruit who holds the rest of his group back? Do they hug him, lavish him with cookies & ice cream, and provide him gentle, uplifting, positive reinforcement in accordance with US Labor Laws? I don't see the career as an NFL football player as being dissimilar.

So, things are going to get a whole lot worse, aren't they? This is just sad. I'm on record being a big fan of Philbin but if he's guilty of anything he's going to get fired too, along with Ireland.

Philbin believes cloven hoofed animals have significant religious meaning. In order to help the world's drought-stricken populations, he once f****d a reindeer.

Turns out, it didn't really help all that much......

*It also turns out that this joke sounded MUCH better in my head!

to piggy-back on this, how hilarious would it be if Miami were somehow able to legally retract Martin's salary or even sue him for not disclosing his awareness or suspicion of mental health issues pre-draft that later became detrimental to the team and his performance/career. Seems like he wanted to have his cake and eat it too- have all the reward but carry none of the risk and do so at the expense of whoever drafted him or the teammates he would play with.

    You're not serious right?

Vick went to jail for 2 years and Lewis was on trial for murder. I'd say that's pretty well documented.

If Martin thought he had mental issues, discussed it with Philbin, and made the choice to remain in such a crazy tough profession, then he subsequently shouldn't be exempt from anything nor warrant special privileges, not when his performance heavily affects those around him. He had 2 choices at the time- quit or keep playing. He made the choice to keep playing.
