His parents are making this way uglier than this has to be and he will never live this down. Who knows in all honesty? This could be putting him through hell when all he wanted was to retire from football.

Ok my thread title was not accurate. I don't give a sh*t about Jon Martin.

Feel bad for Martin? If he used the structure in place to report his problems instead of saving voicemails and texts and going to his mummy and daddy then the damage limitation would have been minimal. Alas he forgot the bigger picture regarding his team-mates and the image of the team. Just pure immaturity and dependancy on his parents imo.

I'm being facetious. I do not feel bad for him.

But I do feel like it is a possibility his parents are causing him more harm than Richie Incognito ever has by making this thing take on a life of its own. His teammates probably hate him and he will never see an NFL field again. The truth will come out and it's starting to swing in favor of Richie and Martins reputation will be as cowardly liar who tried to extort a franchise at his friends/teammates expense. It doesn't get any worse than that.

As for saving that voicemail? Everyone has old voicemails on their smart phone. He's obviously a pushover and now his parents are taking this thing over in a lawsuit.

Just my current opinion and thoughts.

At this point, its looking like the guy just didn't want to play football, and was convinced into throwing his teammates under the bus so he could cash the rest of his checks.

If a dog murderer could have a career post-murder and if people murderer OJ Simpson can still be in the Bills "Honor" Roll (though its the Bills, they don't have much to put into it...) than Martin & Incognito will be just fine in whatever they do next. I couldn't care less about either of them now and I'll probably be sick of hearing it before the weekend.

His parents, Harvard Lawyers , grew up believing they were victims in this world being of a mixed race . They probably made little Johnnie feel like he was a victim as well his whole life as he was enrolled in all the best schools. They never prepared him for life in the NFL. To be tough. That guy really hurt this team and let his teammates and all the fans down. How he finds peace , but I also wish he would just go away and leave the Team be. That would take a ***** though, something I don't think he has.

I blame Richie for going too far, but he and we do not deserve this..

So uhm, can anyone produce anything anywhere that Martin's parents are involved in this...at all? His mother is a corporate lawyer for Toyota and his dad is a professor and specializes in terrorism topics.

I have yet to read one thing from anyone (besides the speculation on here) that they are involved or that Jon went to them. If we are trying to be fair to I cog Ito, does t Martin and his camp deserve the same thing?

He literally moved back into their California home.(I think)

And his father refused to sign the agreement that dolphins would handle the situation internally I believe.

You have links or sources for this? Not trying to be combative, I just haven't seen these reports at all. I have read he went back to California after his hospital visit. I haven't heard the other things you claim.

    I love this reply:

"That's pretty selfish of him, he should have waited until the end of the year. ... Some people are just selfish though and don't care about others I suppose."

No reporter is going to even think about reporting that at the moment. If he were to be wrong it would make him look like a complete jackass.

I really don't care about other players taking sides... They weren't there. They don't know the deal. They're commenting on the narrative the media has provided, which so far, seems largely bull****.

The same can be said about Incognito, ironically enough.

As it turns out, ESPN had a scroll about Martin leaving Florida for California with his parents.
