My guess is this wouldn't have happened on a team with Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. It is given when they addressed the media they would have used the opportunity to make a statment the racial slurs used by Incognito are 100% unacceptable while not throwing Incognito under the bus.

Why Tannehill is getting praised for his news conference is interesting. He basically is saying I was clueless to what was taking place and Incognito is a great guy. I thought they were best friends. No mention that the derogatory remarks made by Incognito were completely inappropriate. He mentioned he reached out to Incognito twice, but no mention he reached out to Martin. WTF? Missed out big time on a demonstrating leadership skills.

Imagine the field day this forum would be having if this were Sanchez....clueless, praised the guy using racial slurs, not even a biscuit for the guy on the other end of those slurs.

    *****.

Was this question meant to b cause confrontation? Cuz u found it here, bubba.

"You think i open a restaurant in the middle of the hood and dont know whats up?" I use the word consistently- round black friends, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans- but nit African Americans. Know y? Cuz they've never stepped foot in Africa. I dont call my self Cuban American despite tracing my entire blood line back to the carribean. And werent the oldest skeletal remains found in Africa which would make us all African Americans?

This racism sh!t when it comes to the word is BS. Ive had ppl offended and become offensive. But get to know me and ull realize im everything but racist.

Blacks dont like the word? Tough. Shouldnt of made it a staple of hip society. If Pit Bull would make spic famous tomorrow, id tell my folks theyd have to swallow it.

And people who dont have an agenda, who know its just a word, who have let go of the Black Panther days; well... They my nigas.

The rest of yall- bunch of hypocrites and id fight you on that alone let alone a meaningless word that, where i come from, where i was raised, in my latin ghetto, is a term of endearment.

there isnt any call for this type of quote either.

using the n word is wrong even when it is used in jest and teh audience you are using it with know the intent and it isnt racial simply because of the ramifications if it got out. That said if he was joking and teh player in question took it as a joke then that doesnt make him a racist.

    wrong yes racist not necessarily

Well now, the bigger picture is two of the 3 dreadful offensive linemen have been replaced.

Downside is one of the replacements is one of the 3 dreadful offensive linemen, Tyson Clabo.

Clabo played well in the last game, so we shall see.

Garner for Richie is an interesting situation, Richie did make the pro bowl last yr, this year he has been nothing short of bad, as in pushed past bad and into "wow, what happened".

Garner for his part did give up a sack vs Cinci, all in all he was not a problem.

McKinnie has replaced Martin w/no problems

Basically, and here we are again, can Tyson Clabo turn it around.

As for Tannehill, tbh, he looked to me like a guy who could not believe the stuff he had heard about someone he knew as well as anyone in Miami outside of his wife.

it's worth noting that Clabo, while terrible, wasn't really taken advantage of until Suggs and Super Mario came to town. They are, arguably, two of the best pass rushers in the nfl. I think he gave up 5-6 sacks to just those two?

Im still fairly certain Clabo sucks, but those two could make a lot of people look terrible...

    Like Wake does.

Life does have some parts that are unfair and this idea that white people are disadvantaged because if they use a word it is different, is an annoying complaint. You can go through your entire life, not using that word and live a perfectly amazing life. Of all the things to fight for, being able to call black people ******s, well you are living a really blessed life.

Saying that, I am not going to tell anyone what they should find offensive. If Incognito has the relationship with certain Dolphin players where they don't care if he uses the N word, more power to them. I do not think Incognito is racist. I do think he is an <blank>hole, however I thought he was a <blank>hole for most of his career. I am not a fan of those type of players, however there are people who believe that all linemen need one *******.

I've also seen some arguments about the fact that Richie saying ****** destroyed the integrity of the work environment. If that's the case then any other player, black or white, should be held to the same standard on an NFL-level.

Wow. I loved Tannenhill's press conference.

One line that REALLY stood out to me was

"Forgive and forget. I don't crucify or judge people for their past."

Do you know how mature one needs to be to say that? I know 35 year olds who can't even say that statement. Thats one of the most mature statements I have ever heard from Tannenhill.

I dunno, Padre. I like to think i know football but this line has me turned every which way. There has been games where theyve looked impressive and to the casual eye, get blamed for a sack when Tannehill was trying to ponder a love poem for his girl (can u blame him shes hot).

Incognito has dominated and hes been dominated and so it goes for our entire squad. Oye, there are times when i swear these guys are unbeatable if they would just get the ability to drop a 70 yard play every now and again and there are times where i think these guys couldnt beat a divison iii school.

But this BS about chemistry being affected? Please. People love to hear themselves talk (calling hypocrite on myself just now). We were robbed by umpires on 2 games and we lost 1 by a field goal. NO was the only game wherein we didnt even belong in the stadium. Yo, by that count, we are 6 and 2.

Like i said, we'll see on Monday. To me, this distraction will murder us. But i can understand the train of thought the believes it could make us. We'll see.

Nah, we win in Tampa, real question is how the fillins do.

Garner could not pry his way into the lineup even when Clabo was Speed Bump, maybe FA money talking, maybe not, now he is in the lineup and usually does well enough to be avg, this yr that is an improvement.

McKinnie for us has been nothing short of needed, not great but far far better than what we had at LT.

Real question is the SD game, it is at home, playoff implications, what will we see.

Oh, quite. Because as long as Mike "Free Hernandez" Pouncey is cool with it, dropping n-bombs with your shirt off while walking around a bar like a meth head is totally appropriate behavior. I had not, up until this moment, considered the fact that as long as Pouncey is cool with it, acting like a racist lunatic is ok.

What was Pouncey's take on the voice mail? Or on Incognito's dad's tirade?

Someone get Mike Pouncey on the phone so I can make sense of all this craziness!

When Martin and Clabo were the tackles, CK said we would use TE's to help out Martin often and leave Clabo on an island to block the DE by himself. McKinnie has proven to be a lot sturdier in 1 on 1 situations. Maybe the addition of McKinnie means we can now help out Clabo and leave Mckinnie on the island?

Did we see any of that in the Cincy game?

    Or how about John Jerry?

I'm not saying whether or not your wrong or right on whether Incognito is an actual racist, because it isn't that easy.

So far, his teammates besides Jonathan Martin have made it pretty clear that he isn't.

You know my pops was a gambling addict and never bet on the Dolphins at home cuz, if i am remembering correctly, he said the Dolphins are historically terrible at covering at home. Dunno y that came to me but i thought i should share. Honestly, these days id rather play away than at home.

But dont discount TB, man, and i hope our team doesnt either. Take the Buffalo game. Thats a game we had to have. Thats a game we shouldve won. Hands down no one can make an argument for the Bills being in that game.

I hope ur right but this team gets under my skin. They break ur heart. We r on the verge of greatness and thers not a single team that Dolphins can play that id b confident its a win. Not one. Cuz they Jekyll and Hyde.

They're all clearly standing up for the guy, while at the same time practically burying Jon Martin, but in my opinion that doesn't justify anything Incognito did at all. Your audience does not give you the right to say anything you want. The approval of Mike Pouncey, or whomever, does not give Incognito the right to say whatever crazy, racist nonsense he wants to anyone he wants. Pouncey and Starks and Jerry are not get out of racist jail free cards.

In fact, all of this support makes me question the dynamics of a team that can be so supportive of someone who is so irrefutably unprofessional, classless, and emotionally troubled.

We have Jon martin's own words saying he's not mad at Incognito and doesn't blame him for any of this. We have multiple accounts of martin himself playing the messages for everyone to laugh at and laughing right along with them. But we're still going to go with the evil Ritchie vs the Virginly Innocent Delicate Snowflake Jon Martin? This is a clearly a media generated issue.

I actually agree with you on this. But to say, "He was caught on camera with his shirt off screaming racist garbage" is a little disingenuous when his whole bit was an impression of Mike Pouncey. I'm not saying he should use the word or get drunk and act like a fool, but is that racist?

you're not the first person to say something like this and I just don't get it.

Richie, as far as I know, loves football. He seems to love this team as well. He lobbied for Jake to stay here stronger than anyone else in the organization (including the FO obviously). He wants to win.

He's an *******. he was always an *******. But you know what? Rex Ryans an *******. Ndomkung Suh is an *******. Lawrence taylor? Bill Romanowski? Dieon Sanders? All *******s. but all were probably well beloved and supported in their locker rooms (except maybe Romanowski) A guy does not need to be classy, professional, or emotionally stable to be a great teammate and asset to a football team. ******* or not, if a guy fights along side you and works his *** off everyday in practices and the games and the weight room, you're going to respect him.

for mine own part, I don't care about who you are inside that helmet. I care about the team winning. You could be a racist, a nazi, an alien, a zombie, I do not care. Just help this team win.

I don't think it has to be an either/or situation. It doesn't have to be Martin vs. Incognito, because I think they're both wrong and should both be gone. Martin is equally as guilty, and he obviously doesn't want to play football anymore. But I also don't believe that Incognito is some innocent bystander who's being used as the scapegoat. He has to take responsibility for the things he says and does, regardless of his intentions.

Well, it was only one of three examples I mentioned but in my opinion...yeah, it was pretty damn racist. If I put myself in Pouncey's shoes and one of my friends of any different ethnicity began doing an "impression" of me by acting like a lunatic and shouting "cracker! cracker!" at everyone, I'm not sure I'd be too happy about it. But if the guy was as huge as Richie, and as obviously crazy as Richie and I had to work with him every day I just might laugh it off like Pouncey did.

But even if I'm wrong, and even if we say for a moment he wasn't being racist; he was still acting pretty damn ridiculous and unprofessional. So at which point does it matter whether or not he's a racist and we can just say he should have been cut for being out of control?
