Players sharing their opinion and telling THEIR side of the story is out of line and the players are unlikable now? FFS it actually seems like the truth is coming out.

This board gets more ridiculous by the hour. :pity:

Dont know if anyone else follows Hartline on twitter, but he R/T `d a couple of tweets that are interesting. Including a picture of Martin and Incognito hanging out together with what looks like a female fan, in New Orleans the night before the Saints game. Hardly look like enemies in that pic.

I said that was weird from the start. A lot of people said that he would've befriended the bully just to make him stop. Yet they're together hanging out in New Orleans, planning trips to Heat games, and sitting together on airplanes.

How have I been against Miami? I wish none of this had happened. Even if it ends up that Martin was running some long con for whatever purpose I still learned plenty about these players and what goes on in the locker room that I don't like and that I wish I didn't know.

Maybe it is as simple as not wanting to know how the sausage is made. That's how I feel. Not telling you that you should feel the same

Hartline, Clabo comments show that environment of retaliation against Martin already exists in locker room. That's not good for anybody.

    Brian Hartline ‏@brianhartline 2m
@ProFootballTalk that is so wrong and very unfair to say

great for hartline. it is just amazes me how the media thinks they know what goes on in the dolphins locker room while ignoring or calling the players that actually know who are apart of it everyday liars.

why should the dolphins players keep their mouth shout, while the media shreds their reputation and the organization that they play for?

So Incognito leaves racist voicemails for Jonathan Martin when he was drunk (bad excuse by the way).. Jonathan Martin shows voicemails to everybody in the locker room and laughs about it.. how much deeper does this go?

Florio's been on one of his one-man crusades with this. He just posted yet another opinion piece bashing the Dolphins claiming they've hit rock bottom. Not surprising since he's an ex-lawer imo.

To be fair to Florio, the Dolphins went against the "No Comment" order they were handed down. Whether or not they've hit rock bottom because of it is a different matter.

    I like this. **** them.

Brian is completely right. The media hears one word and it's game over.

This is this odd dynamic going on where the media is telling the players, "This is what is happening. What is your reaction?" players are telling the media, "Whoa, whoa whoa, I work here. Don't lecture me. You have no idea what's happening" The media responds with, "Are you comprehending what we are telling you?"

While legally it may have been naive to do all the speaking up they did today, I do find it interesting that Hartline mentioned the team didn't ask Philbin permission to speak out today, especially two days after the Phins staff asked them not too. I wonder if today the players were given the green light to speak from higher-ups, or if it was a player-initiated decision to do so. If it was purely something the players concocted, you have to give them credit for standing up for what they thought was right/just, and that action in itself I would think would invalidate the whole notion of 'no-leaders-in-the-locker-room' a little more, as it would taken leaders to organize and communicate to everyone the common goal of standing up for the team.

Or maybe I'm just a sucker for the feel-good, inspirational movie ending? :wink2:

I've been saying this stinks and blaming the media since day one.

This built because the local media was mad at Joe for not divulging more than the average coach. Then Shefter tried to run with it, and Ritchie challenged him. Media got a gold mine handed to them by Martin's camp with the VM transcripts. And the Stupid got turned up to 11.

So.....based of today's PCs with Coach and the players, the media's reaction is not that maybe something just isn't right with Martin, but rather to double down on the accusations?

There are a ton of NFL writers who's stance is now "based on what we heard today, we don't know what to think anymore. We don't know the whole story." Peter King is one.

He caught a big break before that. ESPN insider was originally his website under another name and they bought it, neutered it and put it behind a paywall. He left to start up PFT.

This culture of being afraid to defend oneself or your organization over piss ant slights is bull****. The political correct world has gotten out of hand.Three million + different ethnic, religous, color, sexually oriented, disabled etc... groups in the world everyone gets offended at something. The only people that are above the fray are the ethnic, religious, racist, media that get a free pass. Im annoyed.

HOW do you set up a fund so we can fly a banner that says "Take back our news cycle fire the idiots"

Speaking of Florio, it's hard to believe that these two following posts were made by the same person, just hours apart:

    And then this:

Keep Quiet? You're guilty. Speak out and defend yourself? You're guilty.

So after, what a week, we went from Richie Incognito is a racist bully, Johnathan Martin is emotionally fragile and bullied TO Richie Incognito left a not vert smart voicemail, that was a joke, and Johnathan Martin played it for the locker room and laughed, Incognito defended the player he was bullying in practice, plenty of Incognito's BLACK teammates find him to not be racist and think of him as BEING black. Seems like either Incognito is viewed very well OR, what the national media would love, is that the ENTIRE Dolphins team is a bunch of bullies out to drive Martin into the looney bin because he's soft. WTF? I'm not saying Incognito is innocent in this entire episode, but after Martin's lawyers finish with the Dolphins, they might want to get ready for Incognito's legal team as well. I still hold Ireland and Philbin somewhat accountable for this episode. I still think Ross should think long and hard about how stupid this entire "scandal" has made his franchise look. And I still think some popular or unpopular decisions will be made. What this looks like now is, a voicemail message left for a player, which sounds like it is turning out to be more joke than racist, left for a player who is not happy playing football, but likes the paycheck, which was left by a player who seems universally liked in the locker room, is going to get 2 players tossed of the Dolphins, a coach possibly tossed and an already embattled GM prolly canned. Holy christ I have a headache.
