The good part in all of this is that I'll get to laugh at all the Firelanders who think this is their big shot, again...

He was always a douche....but at least in his NFLtalk.com days he actually had sources feed him stuff...he wasn't just a news feed site like PFT is now.

Hartline respect factor just went up about a 1000 points in my book.

I hope the NFL investigation backs up what Cog's teammates are saying making many in the media, who jump to conclusions and spin stories for their own agendas, look like complete idiots in the process.

My whole issue with this generally backs-up my longstanding hate for the media and the devolution of "good" reporting in U.S. news organizations. The media jumped all over the initial information like wolves w/o any backed-up, supporting information, and took a very strong stance about who was right and wrong in the scenario. Did they buy up all the jump to conclusions mats? My biggest problem with the media has always been how they like to form and spew opinions and try to shove them down everybody's throats...just give me the facts from all angles...I'll make my own damn opinion thank you very much.

Secondly, NONE of us have a clue one about what really goes on in NFL locker rooms. Do we know they're generally testosterone charged? Of course. Do we experience daily what it's like to live in that culture? Hell no...neither does the media...they're outsiders looking in. At this point, it sure looks as if they proved the age-old adage about assuming. I would love nothing more than for this to completely blow up in the media's face, but in the end, it wouldn't change anything...they'd still be bottom-feeding trolls getting paid to start drama. Not all of them, but far too many.

Either way...I stand by my team. If their locker room is such a dungeon of hate and maltreatment, then I think you'd need to look at most or all of the other teams' locker rooms as close to the same...talk about a rabbit hole.

This pretty much sums it up for me. They go on a winning streak, it becomes a feel good story for the team, they go on losing streak, they will be seen as a bunch of chumps who really didn't know how to run a locker room. Not that i agree, but it will be that way

Really - much respect for Hartline and Clabo and Tannehill. Also respect for Ricky Williams and Lydon Murtha.

This thing has been blown out of proportion by people who are sissifying the sport (as CrunchTime has noted) - because they have no clue about the NFL and how hard it is.

I find Clabo's comments especially helpful (though I thought Hartline was the most eloquent and loved his actual statement). But, Clabo is not a guy who has been on the team very long. So he doesn't have a deep, forged relationship with anyone. He'd be a bit more objective and was in a completely different locker room (Falcons) most of his career. If anyone could say, "The Dolphins locker room is a mess and Incognito is a disaster" it would be him. But, instead, he has indicated that the problem lies with Martin.

I feel bad for Martin and hope he gets help. But, the fact that he (or his agent) has chosen to take others down with him because of his own deep issues, that is unethical and immoral, imo. It is sad.

Pretty soon the NFL is going to be flag football with both men and women on the field. I am all about player safety; but our culture of softness is starting to ruin this game. As Williams said, maybe Martin just isn't cut out for the NFL.

I'm trying to remain objective in this situation, but one issue I have taken with is the media coverage's stance that for Jonathan Martin to stand up for himself he would have to physically confront Incognito.

People that post here know that standing up for himself means, just say something to anybody! Don't just laugh at the jokes and pretend nothing is wrong.

No. He could have told any number of people from anyone else ont he leadership council, to his position coaches, to the OC to the HC to Gm, to Owner. He did not.

If a guy doesn't tell anyone there;s a problem and does his best to pretend there's no problem, how exactly is anyone supposed to know there's a problem?

There's no doubt that Hartline is one of the true leaders in the locker room. I think he's been that for a couple years now. Which is good because I think he seems like a down-to-earth, blue collar guy that's fairly well-spoken with the media. As I alluded on Rocky's post about Tannehill taking leadership, I do think some of that leadership has to pass to RT & now is that time, but it's just my sense that Hartline is the more "natural" leader... at least as a take-charge, locker room guy. And it's always pretty refreshing to hear his comments. Right now, I'm loving the guy.

Imagine my love if he came with a few more touchdowns each year!
