It's funny how Roger Goodell said he will make the findings public, but he destroyed all the tapes of the patriots cheating before anyone could see them. Protecting the patriots owner and not ours. That's a double standard.

The Riley Cooper situation was of greater detriment and he's back on Philly's team, so when is Cogs coming back?

I love how now that the other guys in the locker room have opened up in support of RI and debunking much of Martin's side of this, the national media guys are saying that the FO and staff have 'put' them up to this...either Schefter or one of the NFL Insiders said this. Now, RI, Hartline, Murtha, etc are all wrong and Martin is the only one that is right. This it really getting out of control. The Fins can't win anywhere, anyhow on this whole issue. I'm sorry, but I don't believe that Hartline, Murtha, and several other guys are wrong and that poor little Martin is the only victim here. I love how Hartline put the onus back on the media...

I think the one thing that was wrong that has to be corrected was RI's racial slurs towards Martin. That's just not acceptable in this day and age, even if folks of the same race say those things towards each other and if it gets out in the public, it's going to look and be wrong...

NOTE: some idiot is now saying that the players in the locker room "can't see the forest for the trees" and are too close to the situation to be objective and that this is a completely unique situation that has never occurred in any other locker room ???

    Unbelievable...

So the new story now is that Martin had issues with other players too. LOL. This dude is a trip. There is already a ton of evidence of him interacting with teammates in a friendly, happy manner. He also talked to other players after he left the team when they contacted him concerned. And as far as I know, any allegations he took against the team didn't mention any other player other than Incognito.

The more this story unfolds the more I believe he is full of poop and this is all a money grab because he can't take the pressure of being an NFL player, for whatever reason.

Does anyone here NOT know a son who has fabricated a story to spare himself the feeling of shame & embarrassment in his parents eyes? ...... or likewise a parent not make excuses for their child's shortcomings or mistakes b/c they're either in denial or want to portray them in more favorable light?

Martin clearly has a motive here, as do his parents. He chose football at Stanford over following the family line and becoming the first 4th generation African American to attend Harvard. Probably not easy for the son of two Harvard grad attorneys to tell his parents that he was wrong about football and made an unwise choice to attend Stanford rather than keeping the family Harvard streak alive, which I'm guessing his parents and grandparents would've absolutely CHERISHED, so what's the easiest way to minimize his accountability, save face, and provide an easier out of the NFL?--- make it seem like someone else forced him out and scapegoat Richie and the Miami organization.

This where I am with the whole thing: The media has used numerous "un-named sources" for any reporting that upholds Martins side, or shows divide in the Phins organization. Multiple Phins players spoke publicly about the matter, names, faces , number, you got them all. Until one of these media sources, or Martin has the balls to refute it, then **** em. It's annoying as **** as this point.

Good post Fin the only thing I really disagree with you on is Ireland telling Martin to hit Incognito, thats just stupid on his part. The GM needs to stay out of the locker room stuff, he has to be all business, if a player comes to him with a complaint about another player he has to take him seriously. If he thought Martin was being soft he should have done his job....and traded him or cut him. One of the issues with Martin is that he was handed a job that he has never earned and has never performed well...the coach or GM should have held him accountable. Ireland isn't a player, you don't tell a player to hit another player, telling a player's agent this honestly just makes him look really, really dumb. He needs to go, his lack of control, lack of leadership and mediocre personnel skills make him very replaceable and this current incident is the final nail in his coffin, he's gone. And to add a point....we could use a show of control by the ownership here....firing Ireland would help ease things I think. Maybe not fair but he needs to go anyway so its winwin to me.

Your level headed, unbiased voices are really appreciated, especially in these trying times when folks are eager to jump to conclusions that fit there agendas. Forgive me if I left some other folks out.... you know who you are though.

I'd like to point out that not everyone on the team hates Martin.
Tannehill said repeatedly in his presser that he reached out to Martin and asked if there was anything he can do to help.

The team went all mutiny on Philbin and spoke their peace to the press
    STATUS: Debunked
Complete BS. Philbin told the guys to speak their minds. This was confirmed by numerous sources form Jess Agler to Brian Hartline. Armando has just become more wrong than Omar Kelly. That's more pathetic than being pancaked by Martin.

The big picture in all this is that nobody wins. If the team goes out on Monday and makes a statement by beating the Bucs then that is best case scenario for all of this. Otherwise, it will continue to go south. I hear all the joking around on here and back and forths about who is winning. Completely misguided. This is embarrassing and troubling. I don't care if Martin or Incognito are innocent or the goats, the damage has been done in many ways and there will be long term ramifications. I understand the humor is one way of coping, but I find nothing entertaining about the central issues. We may all disagree on what the issues are, but make no mistake there is dysfunction in the house here. Winning in Tampa is at least on step closer to moving forward.

There's dysfunction, but not with the players and coaches. Nothing happened here. This story is made up. It was fabricated for personal gain. That is not a symptom of larger underlying problem with this team.

I don't know how many members here have kept abreast of the sheer volume of material thats been pelting the walls of this storied franchise, let alone managing to differentiate whats been sticking and what hasn't, But having read a boatload myself, I've found it staggering.
So to think of actually pinning down all the accusation thats been concieved this past week, and debugging it virtually mid-stream, like making a debated retort against a giant convoluted rant?

All I can say is Fin D, you are one tenacious, relentless, irrepressible mofo.

You dont find it funny...that Ireland supposedly told his agent this...AFTER Martin left the building? Martin ...Left...the...Phins. He was gone. Why would Ireland say for Martin to go punch Incognito. Martin was gone.

And..for that matter....why did it take so long for his agent to reach out to the Phins. Oct 28th...AFTER MARTIN LEFT. First time his agent called Ireland.

When Martin left, I believe management thought that he just had a mental breakdown. Then the Martin team calls and alleges wrongdoing, at which point Ireland could have suggested fighting back (flippantly). That's over, the team intends to move Martin to NFI list, Martin team releases voicemail and **** gets serious.

    Just a theory.

Note: I don't want the team to keep Ireland.

I am not part of the Fireland crowd but if he did that he is ****ing stupid… You have to immediately understand there is a law suit coming when you get a call from an agent saying your player left because he was harassed.

Martin met with Ireland and Ireland told him to punch Incognito. Oh, and Eric Adelson is a responsible journalist.
    STATUS: Debunked
Excerpt from his digital toilet paper:
    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--dolphins-ready-to-flaunt-dangerous-attitude-as-team-deals-with-martin-incognito-bullying-case-213806084.html

Obviously, Martin didn't meet with Ireland. It was an associate of Martin's agent that called Ireland. Martin met with Philbin...6 months ago and did not discuss Incognito or any other player. He only discussed is own wavering commitment to football.

I wonder how Martin felt when he was demoted from LT to RT? Could it have had any bearing on the blow up. Martin was a LT in college and may have been upset that he was no longer playing there especially since it pays more in future contracts.

I think Fin D makes some excellent points but its all going to come down to the perception the league has of all the details. As bad as this has been blown out of proportion I can't see things returning to what things were before.
