So tell me, do you want to cut every black player that has used the N word from the team? Because if you say it is OK for black people to use that word but not for white people to use it, then that's the double standard we deal with in this country and it is a bunch of bullspit. You know why that behavior is anathema to 99% of the population. One reason is that less than 1% of the population can actually do this job. The other reason is this. What other job in that 99% percent of the population requires you to be violent and aggressive in your job? What other job takes as much toll on your body as this game does? Go ask Jerome Bettis if his career choice should be compared to other career choices when it takes him 45 minutes to just get out of the bed because of the punishment his knees have taken? Heck, if we are going to say that the locker room culture in professional football is wrong, then we might as well just say the culture of NFL football is wrong and put flags on them to completely take the violence and agression out of the game. I mean, because we want to make sure this game fits well with the other 99% of the population. Also, I bet you that more people see this for what it is, and that's a money grab by Jonathan Martin who is too mentally weak to handle this game at this level.
The NFL is not going to open up pandora's box by trying to place restrictions on what can be done in the locker room and punish a team for doing things that happens in every locker room. The NFLPA is not going to side with Martin on this and will attempt to get Incognito paid for the time he has been suspended. The only think Miami is guilty of in this situation is not recognizing that Martin needed to be released a long time ago.
How is trying to stop workplace harrasment going to take the agression out of the game? You can be physical and violent on the field and then turn it off. Anthony Munoz was one of the toughest, best o-linemen ever. He was also a prince off the field. He was not a violent man. He didn't go around assaulting women with a golf club and then put on a team's leadership council. Like it or not, the Dolphins are not going to come out of this unscathed. You should start preparing for that eventuality now.
I guess we'll see. Also, the NFLPA can't "side" with anyone. I don't know where this notion comes from. They will represent Incognito in his grievance hearing if he wants them to and will do the same for Martin should it ever come to that.
This is why I keep saying this is the entrance to a rabbit hole that will call the entire culture of the sport of football into question. The NFL has everything at stake here. The "well that's how football is" defense leads to... "Well then maybe football culture is just plain WRONG."
That was years ago...and Richie Incognito will be the very first person to tell you he was an ***. He infact said he was. Thats nothing new.
Don't engage with Fin D he is never wrong and an internet hard guy. He would fold in a minute if he had to confront anyone in person.
Any you with your what 50 posts....who joined in what..Oct of this year...really knows this is the case, correct?
While polls can be manipulated and twisted a little, I do find it interesting that players around the league not on the Dolphin roster would apparently rather have Martin than Incognito as a team mate. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...artin-over-incognito-20131108,0,7726245.story
The NFLPA is a representation of the players as a whole. If the players collectively want the NFLPA to do anything, they'll do it. If 1 player wants to take down all the others, the NFLPA is going to side the larger group.
Gee, I wonder why? They don't know anything about Incognito other than he was The NFL's "dirtiest player" in.......2009. Oh, and then there's the smear campaign.
So let me get this straight… cam cleeland gets his eye socket broken and doesnt miss a game? That is one tough dude!
Saints guy gets his eye socket broken. Damn near loses an eye. No suspensions. No national outcry. Bears guy gets his jaw broken by OLine Center. No suspensions. No national outcry. No ongoing witch hunt. Martin gets his feelings hurt. Proves to be a quitter. Cogs gets suspended. Career, at least, with Miami seems to be over. Media distorts facts to fit it's narrative. National outcry. Coaches careers affected. GM likely to be fired. Interesting read... http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-dolphins-1108-20131107,0,6784656.story
Corroborates with Murtha's article. Samuda though is more current relations. Martin's case is sounding more and more like a crock, thats putting this organization and team through the ringer. I've had it with the accusation. I say put whatever evidence they have on the table. Its the franchise footing the bill while this parade continues marching along, all on BS hearsay. Weeks from now, if the bottom eventually falls out and they have nothing? Sorry, damage is done. ESPN cuts bait, Martin and Co. simply disappear into the landscape.
Since I started it I think that is a reasonable question. I viewed it as related because of the "idea" of bully, hazing, and other behaviors related. But technically you are probably correct.
