Firing your Head Coach and GM because your team is not a playoff team is never a silver lining to me. I agree, though. Blow this thing up. As in, now. Ireland should be fired tomorrow.
Yes, Yippee! Now, how much dead money are we going to accrue when we cut Wheeler. How many missed tackles did he have tonight?? This guy totally sucks!
It sucks for sure dude. Just another tough loss in a tough season. Philbin will stick unless NFL finds wrongdoing on his end, which stinks because he's a very poor coach..with even worse assistants.
What has Philbin done to prove he should stick? The team hasn't looked well coached all year. Only the New England game they looked good in the first few drives. They come out flat, teams seem to out coach him and the team doesn't look anything close like a well oiled machine.
It has to be considered as one of the worst in the history of the NFL considering how much total we spent. Right up there with Washington, Philly, and Buffalo.
If sitting through a loss on National TV to a winless team is what it takes to get us to clean the front office out, then tonight was a win.
I disagree. Stephen Ross is finally surrounding himself with the right people (Nat Moore, Jason Taylor, Dan Marino, Don Shula...etc). Joe Philbin will not survive this because those guys know what a good head coach looks like.
If he's a poor coach, he'll be fired. He has the next 7 games to show he's capable. If he's not, fire him in the off season. Clean house like KC. The roster has talent on it. We just need to build upon it like they did with the right moves. Which means hiring the right people.
Not sure Ireland is fired tomorrow. I'm operating under the assumption that Miami misses the playoffs for the 5th consecutive year forcing Ross' hand...and of course all this stuff. Just a poorly constructed roster year in and year out.
This. He had a blank cheque and a free pass and failed, horribly. It's all hindsight, I liked the Ellerbe, Wallace and Clabo moves but they have all failed, some in spectacular fashion. His draft offered no immediate help either... He needs to be fired, the front office needs to be gutted and let the new President/General Manager figure out the staff. I'm worried about Dawn Aponte's influence. She will want Ireland fired but I want her no where CLOSE to the hiring process for a new GM.
Add to that the OL that will need both Tackles, both Guards replaced. Ireland will leave this team in shambles.
I've been a Ireland supporter and a supporter of Philbin, but not anymore. We had extra days to win a game against a team that finds ways not to win and we lose to them. Unbelieveable. Cleann house from everyone from towel boy to GM and everyone between.
I honestly feel like the fans could run the franchise just as well as Jeff Ireland has...missing the playoffs during his entire tenure.
I noticed at the end, JT was in the background and he looked gutted. He know's what is going to have to happen. Jeff Ireland must know as well. His employer is surrounded himself with knowledgeable, honest men who will tell him what needs to be said.
I think with him being under investigation, now these losses piling up and his reputation, Ross will just pull the plug now. He doesn't need to be here because he already built the roster for this season.
I think he upgraded many positions on the roster overall, but he needs to go. The entire coaching staff and GM.
WORST Rushing performance in Dolphins HISTORY! Against the WINLESS Bucs with 3 extra days of rest! Despicable...how can anyone defend this entire staff anymore? Once again no football to get excited about before Thanksgiving.
Yep. No more protection for Jeff by Carl Peterson. Over/Under on when Dan Marino is named President of Football Operations, or some title like that?
Truly the best thing or take that back, the most exciting thing that could happen for me the rest of the year is the NFL finds wrongdoings this week and Miami fires Ireland and Philbin now. At that point, I can at least gather excitement, or TRY TO....AGAIN, for who we bring in.
Honestly how hard is it to do what he's done? I have a lot of money, let me buy the biggest FA's. I need a QB and am being told to draft one. Pick the BPA and I get Tannehill. He literally has done zero, that I wouldn't have done.
I noticed that Nat Moore was sitting next to Ross and Ireland appeared to be sitting by himself during the game. Hopefully this is a sign that Ross no longer wants to be associated with Ireland.
I know he's not liked, but I would never compare a fan to a GM. They work hard at what they do. I know for a fact fans would not have same level of success. Really wrong to think that way, IMO.
I want Marino and company to run that operation. Seems like he's brought in all of these legends to do that.
I'm not questioning his work ethic. There's no doubt that he works hard and gives a ton of effort. I'm just saying if I was given all thw info from my scouts and resources from my owner, there are very few moves where I'd say, hmmm bravo Jeff wasn't thinking that. Good move. Hell most of the moves I wanted him to make he did and were wrong...more justification he operates like a fan
I don't think we'll agree on this topic, so agree to disagree. Just fire him. Both parties need to move on at this point.
Pretty sure he's not getting carried away, Ireland has no business being nothing more than a ball boy for the Bears.
right, nobody should be happy about this. no quality coach or gm will want to come into this mess of a franchise.
