It's hard to give too much credit for taking the top tackle with the number one pick. It's good that he picked the right guy but I think it takes far more drafting "skill" to find somebody int he later rounds. I think Hartline is up there. He had like 21 catches his senior year. That definitely took some foresight on Ireland's part.
There were numerous reports of this and I think KB had dug up a few others when he was anti-Parcells in the first days of this site but here it is... http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/da...ys-analysis-de-marcus-spears-likely-walks.ece http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4706305/another-sign-demarcus-ware-was-right-choice
IMO I don't think you will see anybody get released or fired until the NFL finishes its investigation. Likewise I don't think they will get rid of Incognito because if he goes to a playoff contending team that's a problem...
Parcells has never refuted that story. Here is Ware's version: http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/2011/11/demarcus-ware-bill-parcells-sa.html/ Here is Jerry Jones version of it: Read more here: http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.co...lane-and-significant-other.html#storylink=cpy
What I disagree with the "against Parcells' wishes" characterization, which is not well-founded. Just because Parcells' first inclination was one way versus the other, does not mean the guy didn't come over to that way of thinking in the end. He spoke quite glowingly of the Ware pick right as he made it, saying that he was reminded of Lawrence Taylor.
It wasnt "against Parcells wishes". It was Parcells was so upset he actually stormed out of the room. Ireland 100% made that pick and Jones stood by Ireland on it. Its what Ireland built his reputation off of. Its not a debate, it is fact. These were just the most relevant stories I could find in 3 minutes via google.
but what else is he gonna say about his new player, "I never wanted this guy with our first pick to begin with."? IMO, landing his desired pick shortly after enabled him to speak glowingly about the Ware selection.
Don't think there is any evidence available. Anyone making a claim either way is just guessing. Goes to show how clueless we all are when it comes to how the front office functions.
Jason Witten, Jake Long Mike Pouncy hopefully Dion Jordan will be. Worst J Martin wins with a landslide. Cancer of the 2013 Dolphins. Free agent Cameron Wake Reggie Bush
Lol, only thing he picked in that draft was the rib joint they took out from for lunch. And he was over ruled once on his original decision on that to boot.
You realize you're talking about the same person who referred to Terry Glenn, whom he did not want to draft, as "she", right?
