Either way, he is likely to be unavailable for us any time soon.

Brenner mentioned that Garner never missed a line call and helped him out a lot.

    LOL! Cover up...

I've had that surgery. Not supposed to be that bad, unless you have an infection. I did. I was in the hospital almost a week.

He would be out at least 1-2 weeks with gallbladder surgery, even if it routine and has little inflammation.

Wife just went through it as well, was in the hospital for a week too.

See, its the kidneys' job to look after the gall bladder. Normally its their job to tell the gall bladder what it can and cannot do. This is needed because the gall bladder is an ******* and tries to do whatever it wants, but its ok because there's two kidneys. Since these kidneys are generally mirror images of each other, its generally pretty easy for them to keep the gal bladder in check. Sometimes though, the kidneys don't stop the gall bladder, sometimes they help the gall bladder do what it wants by covering for it. Say the gall bladder was accused of killing the spleen a few years ago and the kidneys covered for the gall bladder to keep the gall bladder out of trouble.....that might be important when a few years later the gall bladder is accused of killing the duodenum and maybe even running guns to the sphincter. At that point, it might behoove someone like Pouncey to get that evil gall bladder removed before he loses some kidneys too.

I'm not sure. Look how long it's taken to get Jordan on the field and now they're just planning on including him more. We also play Nolan Carroll and Jimmy Wilson over both rookie CBs.

Blessings in disguise. I will be the first to say, Garner played better than Pouncey has all season. Brenner likewise. If they keep it going with their opportunities, we'll be good!

Usually one has their Gallbladder removed when it presents symptoms (Right-sided abdominal pain, usually after eating fatty foods) due to a stone blocking the flow of Bile from the GB to the small intestine where it mixes and provides some physiologic functions. After the ultra/sonogram you can visualize the gallbladder and see the size/location of any stones. Now when someone gets Cholecystitis (Inflammation of the GallBladder) it is because that stone is blocking the outflow of bile and that area becomes infected and prompt removal is required to avoid more serious complications.

In Pouncey's case, I assume that he does not have an active infection/inflammatory process because they would not hold back on surgery in that case.

He definitely has Gallstones (Cholelithiasis), whether or not the Doc's decide to remove it now or later remains to be seen. But I have seen many removals of gallbladders and they are almost always done Laparoscopically with minimal hospital stay (Usually 24 hours) the patient is then discharged and recovers pretty quickly (1-2 Weeks)

These kind of things happen frequently throughout the league where the lower drafted, or in this case undrafted, player outperforms another player drafted higher.

Taylor the 2nd rounder? Yep another good call......

Jordan is different IMO, it is a combo of health (in the beginning of the season), VO playing decently and them just having not a clue how to use him properly....

But Dallas Thomas should be getting a crack at it and it is a no brainer too.....I mean with all the injuries and stuff, just play the guy and see what he has, I really don't understand why he doesn't play....

Unless the rumors of Coach and Ireland not getting along are true, then it could be a he is just scratching Ireland's picks in an event to make him look bad? Because what does the "healthy scratch" mean? to me it means you suck and can't play...

You can also have a dysfunctional gallbladder if there are no stones. A Hida Scan with CCK can determine if the EF of the GB is normal or below normal. Some people have gall bladders that do not contract when CCK is secreted from the pancreas into the intestine. In this instance, the gall bladder acts like it is obstructed when it really isn't functioning properly.

Well, will say Garner and Brenner will have their hands full vs the Panther's DT's

To me, it all boils down to what sort of running plays Sherman wants to run in that gm, man on man we'll do okay, zone stuff and Garner's lack of athleticism will lead to TFL's

It sounds like they have been using him at tackle only in practice.

Well its kind of looking like they will probably blow up the offensive line in the off season, again! Will we ever have an offensive line that can develop as a unit? It seems like this has been going on forever

I am more surprised that Brenner started over Watkins than I am over Thomas, but maybe the coaches thought Brenner looked better in practice.

I wonder how surgery would affect his diet and his career going forward(weight wise). I have a friend who had to get his gall bladder removed two years ago and there are still certain foods he cant eat. I know everyone is different but this may be something to consider.
