You cant really argue with your thought process. But they are also a team that got beat fairly soundly by Arizona.

I also look at the crap Miami has been through. For all their issues....the past weeks crap has been more inseason drama then I have ever seen any team have to endure...our Oline on pace to give up a record number of sacks...and frankly...the quality of the teams we have faced, yeh we are 5-5, but...we very easily could have beaten NE, Baltimore, Buffalo, and Tampa. Yes we lost to Tampa, a winless team. Seattle, who Collin Cowherd said today was the best team in the NFL, came very close to getten beaten at home against Tampa.

Our play overall....hasnt been Jacksonville esque as alot are making it out to be. Name one game outside of the Saints game where you would say we were beaten soundly? In fact...one could argue Miami outplayed their opponents for a majority of Qtrs this season.

So...strong possibility by multiple touchdowns? You spot me 14 pts?

Wager a Miami Dolphins hat ?

Here is why we are going to beat Carolina.

    1. Cam has a penchant for a large head. I would believe he will have a swollen head in this game.
    2. Ellerbee and Wheeler are surely due for a good game?
    3. There D is good, but by no means scary.
    4. I have a lot of confidence in Grimes and Patterson. If they can stay on the field, we're gonna have a lot of turnovers this second half.

I was going to put that "Kuechly" is very much like watching Zach, too vt... A young Zach.

I would take either one of them. I agree though I think Kuechly is going to be a great one.

I all honesty we have the best receivers they ahve faced in this 6 game win streak. Their weakness is their secondary. We need to make them tackle. WR screens, TE screens, lots of stuff to Clay. Also if protection holds up lots of shots downfield to Wallace. This is where we have to attack. That and a quick pace. No Huddle. THey ahve a great front 7 but in my mind not a great rotation. I think we could get some double screens against them. The read screens great but maybe even over persue which could be a great face to have EGnew or Clay leak out the back side and show a screen to Lamar. Double moves by Hartline as well. Use his tendencies to bait the Dbs into thinking its comebacker or dig route and take it long. I think over the top is the way to beat these guys.

Looks like Charles Johnson is out for the game with a sprained MCL.

Profootballtalk reports Panthers LE Charles Johnson has been diagnosed with a sprained right MCL, and is week to week.
Johnson briefly played through the injury in last night's win, but was greatly hobbled. The Panthers' leading pass rusher can be safely ruled out for Week 12, and considered questionable for Week 13. In the grand scheme of things, it's a crisis averted for the Panthers, as Johnson appeared to have suffered a serious injury after getting leg whipped by Marcus Cannon.

    Phew.....def a plus for us.

I see a toss up if we keep our turnovers in check. Turnovers are the biggest predictor of success yet we rarely mention it on these boards.

Anyways here's the way I see it...

    • this is a classic trap game for the Panthers and they run the risk of coming out flat
    • their top pass rusher has a sprained MCL and we saw how that limited Wake
    • they have a leaky secondary
    • our coordinators are opening things up a little bit (more use of Jordan et al)
    • I think the line combination is more in tune with what the coaches want thus opening the playbook more
    • our run defence can only improve...right?

I personally will take the Panthers but if we somehow win this one I won't be surprised. Remember we did go into Indy and beat the team that beat both the 9ers and Seahawks.

...are you citing a one-game trend? Or are you talking about 2012 as well?

Because we got rolled in 2012 by the Texans and Titans and I wouldn't exactly say either team fits your description.

I wrote in the game thread about one rep he had against gates where gates really gave him a fierce jab step to the right, cut back under neath him to run the slant, Dion played it perfectly, smooth, transitioned his footwork and found himself right in his hip pocket 20 yards downfield..

We win this game, we are in amazing shape for this season. Next week is our make or break week. This week was perfect for us. Absolutely perfect. Next week I just want a Dolphins win, a Jet, Patriot loss would just be icing on the cake.

    Teams I am rooting for

    Dolphins
    Chiefs
    Ravens
    Denver

Uhh, no. Aside from the fact that you're trying to get me to take 14 point line when the actual line on the game is probably going to be something like 3 points, I don't wager with people over the internet.

If I go by how the Dolphins have played in the last 10 years, they will win this game. The Dolphins will win and the Patriots will lose. Miami fans will get hope that the Dolphins have a shot at the division, then their hopes will be dashed when the Dolphins lose to the Jets and Steelers

    1. No disrespect but Cam is the most humble person I have ever met, he celebrated yesterdays victory by donating 25,000 dollars to three different local schools.
    2. Yes they could.
    3. Believe what you want but, we we have the #1 ranked defense for a reason.
    4. Grimes and Patterson might have good games but that isn't where the Panthers beat you.

I'm not going to be a douche and say the Phins only have a small chance of winning, I realize the team is 5-5 and in turmoil right now but, it seems that the worse the teams OL is the better we win...

Dolphins could come out with a win but, the Dolphins roster is set up like teams we normally feast on.

    DATs a Fargin trick question??

Yes he is, just like Steve smith is your #1 receiver...who happens to be my favorite receiver over the past decade..

He's still your best weapon..Lafell looks like a pretty good piece..Olsen seems about slightly above average, your backs look to not have to much juice left with an average of 3.9 a carry...that's not including Newton...

I think if we can contain your one trick pony to the stable, we have a good chance.

Look, I came on here saying how I didn't want to cause any argument but, I wasn't even directing my post at you.

That quote is out of context, this is what he said when asked how the city of Charlotte views him, he is an entertainer and icon for us. Does football not entertain you? Being a Dolphins fan it probably doesn't. Didn't you just completely go off on another Dolphins fan in this same thread?

Steve Smith is almost used as a decoy now, he opens up the field for our TE and other Two decent receivers.

    Go take some ****ing midol.

Our RBs are far from washed up the average has more to
do with the fact we are on our 5th starting guard of the season.

Calling Olsen slightly above average is pretty laughable.

Im having a really hard time understanding how a fan of a team that the buccaneers defeated two weeks ago is that cocky they held you to a mere 2 yards rushing but you say our defense isn't great.

The Panthers are playing well but I don't see them being an unbeatable team by any means. They have a good defense for sure but they are beatable. We haven't been playing great football so I'm not saying I expect us to win but if we can force a couple of turnovers we have a great shot IMO. Its just the nature of the NFL that a team like Carolina isn't going to win 8 or 9 in a row, things always even out in the end. We get an early turnover and get them pass happy and we have a good shot. We need Tannehill and Wallace to cut the **** and hook up early in this game.

Hmm, offensive line problems are not exactly the sole area the panthers are suffering in.

No need to recount our OL woes

That said, we've changed the scheme a bit to more or less fit the guys we have, not the guys they want to have.

That said, think our front 7 on D handles your OL and Rb's, this one will fall on Cam Newton

I didnt say we were unbeatable it's any given Sunday in the nfl.

I don't see Tannehill having the time to hook up deep with anyone however you have give up the most sacks in the nfl and pardon me if seeing you guys say the same thing about beating us that the patriots said striking slightly less fear...

You guys def have a very good defense. Great? Nope. I think you benefitted from playing a really weak schedule up until last night. Then, last night the Pats self-destructed a few times with a fumble at the 10 and that awful personal foul around the 30. They moved the ball really well on you, but got sloppy at the ends of drives. Your defense is very good, especially the front 7; but they aren't a dominant unit all the way through.

The guy I fear for this week is Jonathan Stewart. Always respected his game and I think he has a great chance to go off this weekend. He and Greg Olsen.

Hmmm nfls 25th ranked rushing defense I think your confidence doesn't exactly fit reality.. care to explain that one? We have a balanced passing attack with 4 pass catchers over 400 yards...

You guys beat a poor chargers team a by four and it seems to have gone to your head... This game is on the road for us so I won't be calling for a blowout but I see the game being 24-14 or so..

He sorta has a thing against Cam, think Cam stole his laptop or something, forget how the story goes; probably better off just leaving it alone. (love ya DJ lol)

As much as I hope it's a blowout I think this game is decided by four points or less. I don't think Carolina is so good or Miami so bad that the game gets out of hand. Probably comes down to turnovers, Tannehill needs to take care of the ball and would like to see our D come up with a turnover or two.

Uh their defense is pretty damn good. Any defense looks just "okay" when playing against an offense like the Patriots, Saints or Broncos. And they still did a lot of good things defensively against the Patriots offense. But make the Chiefs or Panthers defense go up against a mediocre offense like ours and their defense looks much faster.

Facts are, the Panthers have given up ONE touchdown ALL SEASON in the first half. Just one touchdown, that's elite, that's a defense that knows that stat and takes a lot of pride in that stat.

Eh, we have been playing teams that largely pass so lots of blitzes, which means stuff like Matthews run happens from time to time.

You'll see, if we get Misi back, the DL will play head up and not be so concerned with penetration and pressure, in fact in that way Newton is counter productive b/c if the DL heads up field it opens lanes for the Rb's and Newton to run through.

This week I expect more of a read and react approach and we shut down your running game.
