Disagree, and no one is saying it should be this season, LG is a hole, Garner is a decent player but not a real LG, he is not mobile enough, at Center it mitigates that, Pouncey at LG fills that hole, leaving 3 other spots to fill

And as I've said, Centers are really cheap to draft, LG's are much harder to find

Pouncey is just too athletic for him to be at Center, I want him at Guard because then our Run game becomes a threat.

Only thing I know for sure is that I'm tired of the John Jerry experiment. He needs to be gone.

Mostly, real problem with JJ is he is miscast as a zone blocking offensive lineman

Curious to see if we stick with the more power running scheme we used against SD

John Jerry isn't, and never has been as bad as the opinion on him around here suggests. He's a disappointment for the draft pick, but he's a serviceable starter. If he's starting or on the roster next year it's hardly a crime, especially with a blocking scheme change.

It wasn't his fault he was drafted at the point where most fans wanted the team to take Jimmy Graham.

Just to back this point up, he currently ranks 16th in Pass Blocking Efficiency.

If anyone cares for grades, he currently has a +3.0 grade with a +6 in Pass Blocking and -4.00 in Run Blocking. Overall, he's 21st for Guards. Not a bad player. Just clearly is not suited for the ZBS.

I think PFF grades him as a better pass blocker than a run blocker for his entire career, not exactly what you want out of your RG but it could be worse. The guy is a FA nextyear, if the current coaching staff is in still in place I don't see him coming back.
