NFL.com "Mike Pouncey viewed 'Fins game with Richie Incognito"

    Questions:
    - Wasn't the organization trying to make it sound like Pouncey was too sick to play?
    - Does this, at all, seem like Pouncey trying to undermine the organization's attempt to use a medical excuse for his absence without him directly contradicting the Dolphins statement?

    -No.

This shows you that Pouncey either isn't too bright, or just ignorant, or both. Just keep your mouth shut. No need to share this info. Obviously the media is looking for any bit to chomp on to make this team look bad, and this is perfect for that.

Poor judgement on his part, but it seems that is becoming par for the course.

    Well, that's what i wonder.

Why share this with the media?

Maybe he is just too stupid to think it will look bad for him to be too ill to play but give everyone an image of him having beers with a guy the media and many fans are vilifying right now. Or he is not too ill to play and doesn't like the Dolphins using an excuse. If the Dolphins are sweeping more stuff under the carpet with him, I could see him feeling 'cast aside' by the organization, like Richie.

Either way he has zero PR sense, or just doesn't give a ****. (Likely a combo)

And regardless whether anyone's opinion is that this is a big deal or not, don't give it the chance to be anything.

Someone give me one good reason why that information needs to be shared by Pouncey, and/or one good thing that can come out of it?

Exactly. Personally it doesn't bother me one bit that he was doing that, but it's just crap that no one needs to know, especially the media. Talk about football with the media, talk about preparing for the game, don't talk about chillin with Cogs on gameday.

Could also be that he had just gotten home from the hospital and wanted some company? Could be that cogs wanted to check in on him? etc. Trying to narrow this down to only two choices so you can get pissy is stupid.

so whenever a player talks to the media they should ensure one good thing comes out of it? You're basically asking them all to be pr guys.

Yeah, in the current situation the Dolphins are in, absolutely they should be keeping everything away from the media and playing the PR game. I actually see this as common sense, there is just no need to share it with the media.

How about it's as simple as they're friends?

Like with the "Free Hernandez" hat -- despite the poor judgment -- Pouncey's loyalties lies with his friends and the fact that a guy got suspended (or is going to prison) isn't going to alter the friendship he has. Make whatever kind of judgment you want on his PR sense and whether it's wise to be friends with "troublemakers". I have no context on how he got around to telling a reporter what he did on Sunday, but I just figure someone asked him, and he told the truth on what he did.

That's the whole point, the media will make something out of nothing when it comes to the Phins. It's not about Pouncey doing something wrong when he is sick, it's about giving the media the information to blow up. Why even give them the chance?

But is the attitude "I got nothing to hide" in this situation going to lead to anything positive for the team?

Reporter: What did you do on gameday?

Pouncey: (If he had common sense) "I rested up and watched the game from home."

But no, he includes he was with Incognito, which can instantly be turned upside down.

Again, there was no need for it, and any reason to share it would be selfish or ignorant.

How about caring about the team? How about looking professional? The whole nation has its eyes on Miami, and they are trying to bounce back from the years biggest controversy, they should be careful about what they say, and this isn't the time for an "I don't give a f*&#" attitude.

So you back the "I don't give a f***" attitude because you hate the media? I'm all for it if the team was winning and not in the middle of the worst controversy possibly in this teams history. Ah, the media sucks, they are all out to get us, so let's not give a crap and tell em like it is. Okay, tell me - how is that attitude working out for the Dolphins so far?

No, I don't give a **** bc you guys are crying about Pouncy and Incog watching a ****ing game together. Really? Who gives a ****?

How's it working out for us? Fine. Anyone keeping score at home has seen the media look like idiots and backtrack many times over this bullying garbage.

But no, let's continue to care about what idiots on NFLN and E!-SPN have to say about us. lol Why?

It's not as simple as "they just friends", if they're just friends then fine I don't care honestly, they can be friends all you want, but Pouncey made it a point to tell the media who he hung out with over the weekend, to let him know where he stands and create some sort of division in the organization.

I'll tell you one thing, and I'm not a huge Tannehill fan but if Tannehill was injured and couldn't even make it to the game, he's not doing this. He's for the organization, he's the franchise and obviously the image of the organization matters to him.

Did Pouncey call ESPN or any other sports media outlet and offer to discuss his Sundays agenda ? Or, did a reporter ask him a few questions and he decided to be up front and show theres nothing to hide. Do we even know if maybe Incognito was seen entering Pounceys home and thats when the nosy media tried to catch him hiding info regarding RI and his whereabouts ? Keep in mind I`m not the biggest Pouncey fan by any stretch but things get blown up for no reason sometimes. Two teammates ,or former teammates, catching the game together is hardly a reason to hang the guy.

Pouncey is just a dumb guy, I don't think he meant anything bad by saying what he did. He's just dumb. I'm not sure he'll be on the team next year though because of his alleged criminal activity in Massachusetts.

Your agenda is arguing over caring about the media. My point is that right now we should care about the media for reasons I discussed. You disagree. We don't see eye to eye. I'm cool with that. Agree to disagree. If you want to call my opinion "crying," then that's your prerogative, I just don't think having an opposing opinion is "crying."

But to say I "cry" over Pouncey hanging with Cogs, is false, as proven above. And to lump me into a group of people who "cry" about the Cogs situation and what went down, is also false.
