Before the season, I had more faith in Philbin then Tannehill. Now, with all this controversy, I have more faith in Tannehill then Philbin.
No faith in Philbin. I hope he's fired. My faith in Tannehill is wavering. I see spurts, but then I see things missed.
Yes, but the thread title didn't include Ireland. I think there are better coaches. Perhaps even a change at coordinators and position coaches can change my mind about Philbin. But as of now, I'm not impressed. But that's not to say I can't change my mind.
I hope we go 4- 12 or 5-11 because we are not likely to reach the playoffs with this rag tag oline and Tannehill has to stay uprght to win for us . this embarrassment is exactly why Ireland and Philbin both should be fired . and to make matters worse the union is liable to inflict more bad publicity on us .
That's just words put together that sound good when said fast. Big Rape didn't stop raping for Cowher, must be a horrible coach. Mercury Morris didn't stop abusing drugs for Shula, must be a horrible coach. You're confusing 300...with a game...in the real world.
Those are not even comparable to one of your players abandoning the team and turning on it. A coach needs players to run through walls for him, not walk out the door. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Didn't Csonka, Warfield and Kiick bail on Shula and sign contracts with the WFL? Players do what players do sometimes, that's not always a reflection of the coach. Timmy Smith couldn't stop smoking crack and doing cocaine while Joe Gibbs was his coach.
Yes it is. You just choose for it not to because you have this bizarre fantasy point. Do you think Cowher wanted Big Rape to rape? No of course not, so why didn't Cowher get Big Rape to stop raping for him?
Agreed. There are plenty of times when players doing things isn't a reflection of the coach. Disseminating private communications between yourself and your teammates is not one of those times. That is throwing your teammates under the bus. Smoking crack isn't affecting your coaches or teammates.
True. I'm trying to think of an instance where a player bolted and steamrolled teammates. Can't think of any. Did you see Shawn Andrews comments regarding his locker room situation in Philly with McNabb? Sounds like it could be similar to what Martin's camp is alluding to what could have been going on in MIA.
Ohhhhhh, I see. Philbin should be able to read Martin's mind. I forgot, a good coach can look into a players eyes and see that players future. And here I thought you were being silly.....
Its just too absurd to even take seriously. If Martin is hiding how he is feeling from everyone, why would a football coach be expected to know what Martin was actively trying to hide? For all you know, Martin just needed a break and his agents and parents decided to go crazy...should a coach know that too? Just be realistic.
If he wanted a break, thats fine. We are way beyond that point. Releasing voicemails is his choosing. If he wasnt willing to throw his team under the bus, we wouldn't be having this discussion. The big question still remains; why didn't Martin go to his HC about the issues he had? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
The only obvious answer is because Philbin is the worst coach ever. He went to Philbin about his own issues. He didn't talk to him about Incognito. That could be for any number of other reasons, including, it was his mother that went ape ****. We have a record of Martin even telling Cogs that this stuff wasn't coming from him and that he had no problem with the players. So who knows. But to out of hand, blame all this on Philbin is ridiculous. There's plenty you can blame on Philbin right now, but this ain't it with the info available.
Fin.. We postponed Cognitos grievance today, my question is this, if we keep hanging this dude out there in limbo without pay, and the majority of the players don't think he's guilty, how is Philbin gonna justify this and how is this team gonna play hard for him?
