You said "we are already starting to see them come forward"

Who besides Shawn Andrews, who is retired and virtually irrelevant to the current situation, has come forward?

Perhaps I missed these annoucnements. If you provide me with an example, I would appreciate it

Thinking about this as well, I play Incognito, innocent until proven guilty correct? They are in the middle of a playoff hunt...then pull an A-Rod and sue the NFL and force their hand.....

I bet this little "investigation/witchunt" goes a little more quickly once ole Richie laces them up.....consider the results come out damaging against them, Goodell is going to lay wood on them, so why not play him? You honestly think he takes it easy on Miami because they suspended him?

Shawn Andrews was who I was referring to.

You will see a ton more if the NFL takes any institutional action against the Dolphins. Why wouldn't a player thats been cut make the accusations? We know for a fact that there is harassment around the league.

I think that this issue is an attack on the very culture of the NFL. The bounty thing wasn't widespread, this kind of behavior is. Goodell doesn't want to have punish Miami for this because of the potential flood gates this could open. He wants us to give him every reason to not drop the hammer....keeping Cogs suspended is part of that, IMO.

Anybody can make any accusation. It has to be credible and backed up by evidence.

There are lots of workplace harrasment lawsuits filed but only a small number actually proceed. It's not a particularly easy cause of action to maintain.

Worrying about "flood gates" opening is just an excuse not to do something about a difficult to solve problem.

I absolutely think they should do something to solve this problem. They should put in place policies and protocols.

    Right, I agree.

And to make the point, somebody is getting punished. It might end up only being Incognito, but somebody is getting dinged here.

I'm not so sure about that. I think its very possible that the investigation ends up saying "This was a very stressful environment, which is symptomatic of the industry. There were x,y, and z instances of insensitive and offensive behavior, but nothing malicious or institutional. There needs to be policies and protocols in place that will help alleviate these stresses".

The most telling thing to me is that Martin reportedly told Wells that him and Incognito are friends. I think he's less of a target of the investigation than people believe. I think its more likely that we see someone on the coaching staff get punished.

    A possible prison sentence might.

But I do think you are right. It is really just a tough situation, Cogs and Pouncey have the perfect lineman persona - mean, tough, crazy, and loyal as hell. It's just the other crap that hurts them.

no. there's fiercely loyal, then there's insanity. Don't get it twisted. There's a line where it changes from loyalty.

The problem is that what is commonly accepted as acceptable behavior in an NFL locker room or by NFL coaches would be considered harassment in almost any other workplace environment. If the NFL investigator comes out and basically says that the NFL has to adhere to "normal" workplace standards just about any lawsuit would be easily winnable.

    the poor house
The dolphins fan base needs to stop blaming the media for the dumb *** situation that the team is in . people should stop blaming Incognito and Martin and start blaming Ireland the ******** and mr no personality philbin . this was their job to keep control of the locker room .

I usually don't take up for the media but the dolphins are to blame not the media and if we didn't have a crappy gm and a lame head coach this crap would not be happening.

Lets hope so....but the duration is bothering me, this is about that locker and the incidents within. They better not be judging him and creating punishments on the strip club/charity golf snatch gate stuff....and I get the feeling they are...

you know what I don't do at work? walk around with my dong hanging out, but that takes place in an NFL locker room, and trust me, seeing an dudes dong in the locker room at the gym is way worse then any of these allegations from Martin.

Actually, this may have been the one thing Martin isn't complaining about.
