I am certain you are looking at PFF when you boast such

and if I ask you to state your case to back up that wild claim without using PFF.....you can't.

and if you can't make a case without using that skewed site....you know you have no arguement.

Is there some reason you discount their stats..when they are used by many?

How do they determine their grades? It is all subjective opinion of one dude who watched one particular game

they dont actually put NFL statistics in a formula

    the grading is just nonsense.

So answer me this....Carolina has less opportunities to rush the passer yet has more sacks....YET you are vastly superior than us bc a PFF grade gives you a big number? That is just one example.

Sacks are good, however are pretty over rated when determining how good a team is at pass rush.

    That is my point.

if you can't make the arguement without PFF.....you know the site is flawed. Now instead of presenting basic statistical evidence showing how you are vastly superior (which if you so clearly superior would be easy)......all the focus will be purely on why PFF is awesome and right.

I agree, which is why I pointed out it was just one example.

Can you give one example showing why Miami is vastly superior without using PFF? Blast me if you want but that is a pretty reasonable thing....

Theres alot more that goes into an effective pass rush then just sacks. For example..which team has faced better qbs this season and how did they fare against them?

I am mostly blasting you for your blatant disregard of Pro Football Focus. While it isn't perfect, to say that it isn't any good at all, is not right either.

I never said that the Panthers had a vastly superior pass rush.

    Sacks + (0.75 x Hits) + (0.75 x Hurries)/ Pass Rushing Snaps x 100 = PRP

I love Charlotte and I'm happy here, I know a lot of Panthers fans and everyone thinks that the Panthers will win Sunday by a big margin....I smile and I tell them to call me after the game.
Personally I feel pretty good about this game.

    Evidently,

Miami has a higher combination of sacks, hits, and hurries in relation to pass rushing snaps

Unless I am mistaken, sacks is an NFL stat correct?

They are the closest thing to grading of players on every down we have...they are not stats imo, they are individual grades on winning or losing on a play, something that no one else is doing..are there some kinks, sure, they don't know the responsibilities of other players on each individual play, but I've read enough of their text to know they grade the win or loss of a play objectively, and that's better than anything other than your own eyes..

It's not hard to know who won, who tied, and who won on an designed play.

True but winning this game puts us in the 6th seed all by ourselves if the ravens beat the jets, if not then we only have to worry about tiebreakers with the jets instead of a bigger group of teams with the same record. Every game is important

I think we win this game. Cam is getting too cocky, he will get what he deserves. I think.we will see a heavy dose of qb pressure on Can and he will look more like can from last season. This game will be a healthy reality check for him. The defense will win this game for us with our offensive points coming through the air. It will be tough to run against them but if somehow we manage to pound the rock we will win more comfortably. But I see this being a close, tough win with 2 passing tds, couple of field goals and if we are lucky a pick 6.

And again, all I am saying is if Miami is so significantly better....

it wouldn't be hard for someone to present the arguement without PFF....but no one can.

Sacks is a NFL stats....and the NFL says Carolina has more on less attempts (and yes, sacks is only one small part of a pass rush). Log in to PFF and they don't even use NFL sack stats.....they use there own subjective number.

PFF is great in theory.....but there grading is wildly inconsistent bc every game is graded by someone different with their own subjective view of how they grade.

and if you do the math on all the forms of pressure you mentioned......it doesn't translate to the grades difference .

Well..I dont know about you man...but I work a full time job, and raise two kids.

I dont have time to watch every single snap, to chart a defensive pressure, hit , or sack. The only way to match what PFF does, is to do that yourself.

So...you seem to be the only one taking issue with PFF's grades. Makes no difference to me whether you believe it or not. Either way, its not going to change the outcome of Sunday's game.

Maybe you could paste where your reading they dont use sacks..because Im not seeing it.

    Sacks is just an example....

    NFL credits you with X

PFF doesn't use X.....they claim sacks is Y. They actually give you 3 more. Where do those come from? Who knows....

I can claim Peyton Manning is playing lights out this year and significantly better than Tanneyhill as a passer. There is overwhelming evidence I can present to support it without using PFF....

So again, my main point is....if that is true about Miami being so significantly better.....how come it only exists on PFF.

    Torrential downpour at sunlife today..

How will this affect the game, both teams have speed threats where a slippery turf creates some anxiety for safeties..

Carolina has better run game, should give them an advantage.

Ever since I got here there's been some torrential downpours. They lasted all Thursday night but today's was only about an hour. They are calling for rain and wind tomorrow. Hope it holds off though.
