I really just wonder how far a QB can throw in the air. 55 yards sounds pretty far to me.

That last play should have been designed to go to Clay.

Sucks that we had to settle for the FG there, but... better than nothing I guess.

I'd really like to see a stiff arm on that 3rd down by Thigpen, but alas, it's Thigpen. He must have obtained some really juicy pictures involving Philbin and a radish.

Are you serious? That first pass was 50 yards in the air and on the run. Not many QBs are making that throw. The second one just took too long to set-up. Not many teams have play designs for 55-60 yard throws.

Not many WRs get hit in stride at 55-60 yards.

Ive been playing him on a homer streak. 2-110 and a TD early in 2nd qtr?? hell yes! I'll take 0-0-0 if the fins win though

With 2 deeps balls completed that middle should be wide open with the panthers dropping a safety deep. Hartline, clay and Mathews have to make them pay the rest of the game, the deep ball and panther pressure should set up the screen for us as well.

A pro should be able to throw it about 65-70 in the air. I can get it around 50 something when I put everything into it.

Again, its not an issue of how far he can throw, its when he throws it. Like I said, go back and watch that play, you can see it once Tannehill finishes the playfake, then the crazy deep dropback, he chucks it ASAP when he sees how open Mike is... its too late though. Look up the article CK wrote this week about the timing piece. That play there IMO is a perfect example of what he's writing about. Nothing wrong with that throw, its how long he took to throw it, likely because of the play design.

    Jordan with the sack!

Most nfl quarterbacks can throw it 65 easy. Some with big arms like flacco can hit 80. 55 is not all that far in terms of just distance, adding a defense and trying to hit a moving target at that distance is what's hard.

There aren't a lot of quarterbacks in this league who can accurately sling it for more than 60 yards. That's precisely why scouts start to drool over the Jamarcus Russells.
