Why is it every year this team is always missing something...in 2011, we needed a qb. 2012 we needed wrs. 2013 we need a offensive lineman. And who tha hell blow $100 mill and 10 draft picks on a losing team?
For the long stretch were on of mediocre to below average play I would say dating back over over a couple decades is average to below average personnel decisions.
It's honestly not Jeff Ireland's fault that we can't win with the players we have. We could have the patriots roster and be 5-6. Our culture and coaching staff is not good enough to get the most out of our players. Our team plays hard, but lacks identity, resolve, and killer instinct. - you're welcome
I can't understand that it is not Jeff Ireland's fault even though he has complete control for hiring our coaching staff and should be drafting players who help to bring the identity and develop the resolve on the team. The culture and killer instinct is or should be instilled by the coaches.
This ORGANIZATION AND TEAM had been short something going back to 1987. We just had Marino to cover up the wars for a long time.
Honestly,GIST, you're wrong. Who's the common denominator here? Lets look at it, shall we...three head coaches same results. 1 winning season out of six. one pro bowl player drafted in six drafts. atleast one oline draft every year and the oline still sucks. not one star wr,rb or te drafted in six drafted, that is a killer! I rest my case!
I agree with GISH, it's the culture of the organization. We had Brandon Marshall but if the coaches are unproven and can't teach young players then development will be slow. I think Ireland should be first to go but It's statistaclly improbably that we have not drafted star WRs or RBs. It's more likely that star players come here and underperform or are mis used. I think we see underperformance on the field and there is no accountability because the coaches are more at fault than the players. Why no time out when the game is on the line with 4th and 10? Just cover Smith and Olson and you win the game. Why is Wallace a hero in the first half then drops the game winning TD pass in the last drive? Could he not catch that hail mary and prove he's the $60M man? Why does the OL seem to pass protect in the first half then get trampled in the second half or seem clueless when the game is on the line? Coaching, Coaching and Coaching! Leadership, Leadership and Leadership! Without coaching and leadership, the team is what it has been for 17 years.
