If you saw yesterday's GDT you would see it was anyone who said Tannehill was too blame for the game was getting crap. Had nothing to do with Wallace, I have not been paying attention to the drama in here to know what clique is fighting another clique over what beef they might have, just too busy to do that.

that's a false argument, which holds no water. You again try to compare Tannehill to PROVEN QB's. Why do you keep doing that? Matt Ryan has put up Pro Bowl Numbers and got his team to Championship, Eli Manning put up good numbers and won 2 superbowls. Saying Tannehill get's a down year is absurd, he has yet to have an "UP" year. But again the fans are taking it so personal. Not ONE poster, NOT ONE has said get rid of Tannehill, the worst critique on him yet has been, "JURY STILL OUT" That's it. Why are fans taking it so personally. Stop and Stop with the offensive Line stuff, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, Nick Foles, Tony Romo and Russel Wilson all have below average, some may say abysmal offensive lines. I think it's the coaching that needs to design plays for Ryan that take advantage of his mobility and in turn protect him from sacks. Maybe Ryan should approach Philbin and demand a change in play calling (but not in bullying way)

    Oh that's the problem then.

#1. You pay attention top game day threads and consider what is said in there to be trends or the norm instead of the emotionally driven ramblings of fanatics watching the game live. Those threads are worse than PoFo on Finheaven.
#2. You posted a gripe about that in a different thread entirely and a day later.

I think its easy to see why your gripe is confusing at this point.

I have absolutely no idea if Tannehill is the long term answer at the QB position for the Dolphins or not. Sometimes he appears to have what it takes to become a quality QB in the NFL and at other times he looks like a QB who hasn't had much experience playing the position. Hopefully he will develop into a quality NFL QB over the next few years, but right now he is still a major question mark for the Dolphins.

As far as his stats comparing to Brees and Manning at this stage of his career. While that may be true, his stats also are similar with Henne's after his first 27 starts with the Dolphins. So while we all hope Tannehill's career develops along the line of Brees or Manning. It could also end up that Tannehill has a similar career to Henne, based on present stats.

Tannehill has five more games this season and next year to show that he is the long term answer at QB for the Dolphins. If after three years as the Dolphins starter, his stats haven't dramatically improved, I would assume the Dolphins will be looking to draft a QB in the first round of the 2015 draft. Hopefully that will not be the case.

There's a lot to critique in Tannehill's game, but there's a ton of good there. At least twice a week he'll make a throw that literally makes me say WOW. The touch pass to Lamar Miller that he lofted over the LB, I mean, you just don't see QB's, second year or no, make on a consistent basis.

On the other hand, he'll lock on and miss a safety coming over to help.

for a quarterback who is a converted WR in only his second year in the league i think he is doing a damn good job IMO. there are flaws that need to be corrected. yet at the same time he is putting up numbers similar to andrew luck who has been anointed as the second coming by most.

some people act like the guy is utter ****, if you want to see an utter **** qb play go watch the jets. tannehill is improving, everyone knew he was raw coming out and that it was going to take time.

I definitely agree he needs to escape the pocket more. Someone must've pointed this out to Ryan as well because he had several nice scrambles yesterday

Every QB in the NFL can have those WOW moments during a game. That is why they are NFL QB's to begin with. How I measure a QB is whether or not he can lead his team to victory in the fourth quarter, when the game is on the line. So far Tannehill hasn't shown this ability but a few times in 27 NFL starts.

The fact the offense has not scored a single TD in the fourth quarter of the past seven games is a giant negative for Tannehill, as far as I am concerned. Hopefully Tannehill can get to the point that Dolphin fans will feel confident that he can lead the team to victory in the closing minutes of a game. This is what separates the great QB's from the average NFL QB and so far, Tannehill has been average or below average for most of this season.

It's controversial because what you said is not set in stone. Tannehill in his second season. Philbin is in his second season. Drawing conclusions this quickly is foolish.

You could apply this to anyone. Nobody's career is set in stone until its over. Can we say that Daniel Thomas could become better? Sure, but that doesn't change where he is now.

There is nothing foolish about evaluating someone's performance two years into their career, especially when the ramp-up time isn't all that great in this day and age.

This can't be understated. Tannehill has the potential to be a beast of a QB, and a nightmare for opposing defenses. However, he does need more time to develop - more time than the QBs drafted with him last year, who all had stronger starting pedigrees in college. And, to date, he's shown us that he can learn.

By 2015, I think the idea of replacing Tannehill will be laughable around here.

I'm really excited to see the last five games after yesterday. Mainly because - while he still underthrew Wallace (and overthrew him that one time) - he made a solid commitment to getting him the ball well downfield. I don't expect that to stop, however, I do expect him to get better at it. The underthrows, he can probably get past by simply getting the ball out there a half-second earlier, and trusting that when Wallace is step-for-step with a guy, or even just past him, that by the time the ball gets there, he'll be 2-5 yards past the defender. When he sees the tape of the second deep ball, which Wallace caught but was underthrown, I think he'll see that exactly. Maybe this Sunday he hits on it better.

Right now, Tannehill looks great at times, but then still makes about 3-5 awful throws per game, and that holds him back. I think he'll chip away at that over the next 12-20 games or so and really become a competent QB, who is above average. How much above average? Time will tell.

Not to mention, he's one tough mother, as has been evidenced this season!

I hope you are right, but I remember MANY people saying the same thing about Henne after his first 27 games as the Dolphins starting QB.

My problem with Tannehill is he has never really shown the consistent ability to bring his team back in the closing minutes of a game. He has done this only twice in 27 games, while the good QB's in the NFL have a much higher percentage of game winning drives. This was a weakness he showed at Texas A&M and it has continued in the NFL.

Until he becomes a QB you can count on in the fourth quarter of a game, he remains a HUGE question mark, as far as I am concerned. No TD's in the fourth quarter in the past seven games is something every Dolphin fan should be concerned with in regards to Tannehill and the rest of this offense.

blinder homer is a way for people to discount your opinion without actually having to argue it IMO. We are all fans, therefore we all chose this team for whatever random reason based on emotions, as we just "like" the dolphins. It's stupid for people to think they can always rise above that.

There are plenty of QB'S who don't have WOW moments.

The Dolphins inability to score in 4th quarters and second halves in general is directly tied to their lack of run game.

Lack of run game > More passing plays > More sacks.

I'm about sick of this west coast offense where no one blocks. Not only the OL but also receivers.

He played QB in high school, and was always listed as a QB at TAMU and sat in on every QB meeting there. Playing QB is hardly new to him.

A blind homer actually posts thing worth reading most of the time..... Those elementary know-it-all complainers that come here for the sole purpose to start new threads on the same topic over and over again.... Well, they can tell themselves they're a " realist " .... But we all know they have deeper issues than how the dolphins are doing. And of course, if you address their ever flawed logic, your just an "apologist" for whatever they're complaining about.
