I thought he ran well today. I was hoping someone can come up with an angle of his non TD. I thought he scored

I liked what I saw from him today, seems like he runs hard, has good burst, isn't afraid of contact. We only saw limited action from him, but I can't say it was negative.

As for his TD, I watched it back again in slo-mo, I thought his leg/knee stayed off the ground long enough for him to sneak the ball over the line. I thought we should have challenged it.

A bit off topic, but talking about reviewing rushing TD's... As for the Miller play at the end, that damn well should have been a TD IMO... There was no video proof that his knee hit the ground, at least not that we saw. So, how Carey can turn that over without the indisputable video evidence, I'm really not sure.. Oh well... it is what it is I guess.

Inconclusive at best. Probably a good overturn, but strictly by the footage, I don't see how they would have overturned that.

Yeah, I think its easy to look at the replay and say, he was likely down. It was ruled a TD on the field though, meaning they needed video evidence of the knee or something being down first, and with all the bodies on top of him, you just don't see that.

Exactly. He was probably down, but the video didnt show it. If they can screw us with that rule against the Steelers a few years ago, they could have used it in our favor today.

On Gillislee, I hope that he can show over the final month that he can be a good backup to Miller, and share the backup role with a power back next season. Be nice to have a reliable low cost option on the bench.

it looked like there was a lil burst there, but not enough reps to tell if his preseason was him running like a different person..

He looked good, and I'm glad the staff put him out there rather than picking up some scrub off free agency...

Maybe it's just some hopefull bias on my part, but it seemed that Gillislee moved things forward, even if it's just smack into the line, where Miller has a hesitation and goes down easily. I appreciated the way Gillislee slammed it, made a cut without hesitation. It was on limited carries, and he hasn't gone through 11 games with this horrid O-Line.

To me he (Gillislee) is another Zach Stacy, Fred Lane, Mark Higgs type of back. Nothing flashy about the guy at all but he can give you 70-75 yards a game, block when he has to, and not turn it over. I still think we need a three down back in this offense but maybe if the offensive line improves next season, a combination of Miller/Gillislee can be effective.

That was a good call, despite my initial questioning of it, as well. I re-watched it and Clay clearly engages his defender downfield, before the ball was ever thrown by Tannehill. From a technical standpoint, the refs got it right.

From a practical standpoint, the defender would have had a hell of a time getting to that ball before Miller caught it, but nonetheless, he was within the vicinity and Clay interfered with him.

Glad to see Gilly get some snaps. Miller seemed to run harder, or less tentative, than usual too.

Its still a call that you almost never see unless its blatant and directly effects the outcome of the play. We've had a few of those calls this season.

Gotta re-watch myself, but did Miller catch the ball behind, or past the line-of-scrimmage. As a high school ref myself, that's usually the deciding factor. If the screen pass is behind the LOS, then the blocking is fine downfield, and not interference, as it's like a run play. BUT, if the pass gets past the LOS, then, it's a true pass, and it's obviously interference, like a form of a pick play.

That's what had me scratching my head when they called it. I thought Miller caught it behind the LOS.
