Deserves his own thread. Much-maligned and was supposed to be done for the year. Here he is 2 weeks later playing a huge role in this critical victory.

I don't remember a player more hated and trashed on a consistent basis than him. And he just keeps coming back and fighting. Kudos to him!

Yes. And to think I was pissed off at the time he was drafted because I wanted Ryan Mallet........ He sure showed some heart out there. His mom wasn't no Harvard lawyer............

He has great leg motion and keeps them churning. He just runs a bit upright at times and the line fails to create push.

I don't think we are as bad off at HB as people think. I think Hyde grom OSU would be a great option in the draft.

Going into this game, 63% of Daniel Thomas's yards on the season came after contact. He averaged 2.28 yards after contact per attempt going into this game. He was averaging 3.2 yards per carry. Essentially, he's getting hit before he can even get 1 yard.

I'll admit I'm a hater, but he's slowly turning me around. His balls dropped earlier this year and it looks like he's entering puberty.

How does this rate against other RBs in the league?

EDIT: Or better, what is the league average if you are privy to that info? I find it absurd that he is getting hit (on average) about a yard out.

Looks, though, as of late, there are some better things happening up front. I still would like more 5+ yard runs on first down. Make that consistent (because I get the feeling Philbin's philosophy is for more balance), and the game changes for Miami.

The kid keeps coming back from injury after injury and doesn't care what people say about him. He just wants to play professional football really, really badly. He has heart and character. He's made a fan of me, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I've always thought Thomas was a good back in a tough situation.

    Very serviceable player.

He took some big shots today and hung onto the ball. And of course that big run late.

He may never be as physical as his build suggests, but he doesn't lack toughness. Guy has taken a lot of big hits in his career. And he's always churning for more yardage.

If Thomas hadn't been able to play today, we'd have really been SOL when Miller went down.

I agree. Maybe we could've seen a bit of Gillisee, but pass pro would've suffered.

Thomas's numbers were 22nd in the league among backs who had gotten at least 25% of his team's carries. I'll have to do some calculating to get the league average.

Wasn't a fan when we drafted him and to date thought he was over paid for , but you are what you do and if he has more gamesw like today then he will prove his worth.

Major factor in the victory today , but as we all know consistency is what we want , well consistently good of course.

Simple explanation is he's failing to break away from lineman. He plunges into the line and is essentially stuffed.

CK has posted a couple times about his horrible vision. It's pretty bad.

The guy still stinks. He had a good game though. I hope he gives me a bunch more good games and I'll eat so much crow it will make my head spin.

But I'm not ready to fully eat crow like Charles Clay crow. I'm eating it every week and it tastes great!

DT ran hard today. It was obvious Miller wasn't geared to run in the cold conditions.
Good to see positive production out of the running game.
It's a better two back combo than most think.

DT is having a hell of a second half to this season. The way he's battled back from injuries over his career is huge -- just says a lot about his love of this game. Running hard, made a massive play today to save our season. Mad props. Hopefully Miller will be back soon; but if not, we're in good hands for New England. DT coming on strong.

    Lucky you.

Im eating the "Lamar Miller 1200 yds" crow. Not only does it taste like crap it's killing my fantasy football teams.

Dont forget to credit the OL, thy have quietly worked their way up to average and they opened som HUGE out there today.

I've been the biggest Thomas supporter on this forum. You can always count on him to hit the line hard. His lack of vision has held him back hopefully he can get coached up. Reminds me of JJJ but with a worse OL.

DT has a ridiculous plant foot, the torque for which he plants is sometimes scary, his style today was what we needed..i thought mike g flashed again in his two or three reps.

it seems everyone is finding their roles at the right time...

can you imagine us with keller and Gibson.

We definitely miss Gibson. We've never seen Keller in a regular season game.
Not sure you can miss a TE who has never really played a real game in a Dolphins uni.

So bummed he got hurt. He synched up with Tannehill fast. All these 3-and-out we've had the past few weeks don't happen with Gibson out there.

DT deserves better respect than this, he played his heart out yesterday and gave a gutsy effort with a bum leg and without him we could be looking in from the outside of the playoff race, save this crap for another day. Unreal.

The tandem the Dolphins currently have at Runningback is just fine. Both are totally competent players.
