He probably doesn't post here (if he posts at all) but this guy probably saved my life yesterday. Here's the story...

I'm at my annual trek to the Tiger Woods golf tournament here in Lake Sherwood (southern California). I'm deliberately not wearing any Dolphin stuff because I don't want to know what happens against the Steelers. I'm DVRing the game and planning on watching it when I get home. Anyway, I'm sitting around the 18th green and I'm about 15 feet behind a guy wearing what must have been an Asian knockoff Tannehill jersey (in new colors but old logo, I took a pic but won't post it... yet) he's also got a Dolphins hat on. He's drinking so I know I'm ****ed in my plan to watch the game without knowing the score. He's either going to jump up saying "Dolphins win!" or curl up due to a Dolphins loss. Anyway, he jumps up with a Dolphins win, and whilst I'm pissed that I can't watch the game without knowing the outcome, I'm ecstatic that we've gone into Pittsburgh and pulled out a W in the snow. He goes on telling the people around him about the last play. I couldn't make out exactly what happened but he is telling them something about the last play and stepping out of bounds.

I probably wouldn't have survived that last play not knowing that the guy steps out of bounds and the Dolphins win. Thanks to you Asian Knockoff Tannehill Wearing Dolfan. I might actually make it to my daughter's wedding in 15 or 20 years time!

I can relate to that. Whenever I can't see a game I always record it and watch later without knowing the outcome. Unexpectedly finding out what happened is not nearly so bad if they've ended up winning. Yesterdays ending was definitely survival endangering.

What are the odds of that? Another Dolphins fan in some random place all the way out in California while the game is on. That's crazy.

I watched the game 2 hours after it started. Having to avoid media and tell a few people not to text me during the game was difficult for 2 hours, cannot imagine trying to go 2 days.

It should be against the law to have golf at the same time as NFL football is being played. All real Americans should love and watch football. If they don't, then they can just go crawl into their own good hole and stay there until the football is done.
Football is life. Everything else is just details.

He is an adulterer. The god of the good book instructs his followers to stone adulterers. Are you not a follower or believer of the Good Book? You seem to love Tiger, yet are down on the Pouncey boys for showing loyalty to their friend. Do, you think Billy the Kid's friends disowned him after getting locked up for the killing of Buckshot Roberts? Hell no, or how else did that revolver get planted for Billy in the outhouse? Poor JW Bell. He was actually not a bad fellow, and Billy didn't really want to kill him. I think he took particular pleasure from killing Bob Ollinger though.

It should be against the law to have ANYTHING else going on during a football Sunday.

I'm actually hoping this comes on Sunday against the Pats.

Although... it's tough to top beating the Steelers at Pittsburgh while they're fighting in desperation mode for their playoff lives in weather conditions that totally favor the home team.

Still, each game as we go forward sort of adds to the ante of the next, especially with the Ravens likely/unlikely/likely/unlikely/finally win over Minnesota. And next are the dreaded Patriots.

no kidding... that's what my wife said, what are the odds that you'd see one let alone one sitting within 15 feet... there were easily 10,000 people around that 18th hole at the end of the round. He was the only one wearing any sort of Dolphins memorabilia that I saw.

I don't know how you have the self-control. I wouldn't be able to go 10 minutes without needing to check the score. An entire week?? I'd be dead.

And more importantly, who books a cruise during football season??? Save that stuff for the spring and summer like us normal folk.

I guess I know how you have the self-control. You simply don't care about the Dolphins enough. :shifty:

Wow, we really think alike. I did the same thing last year too. Took a cruise, came back a week later and watched the Arizona game just like it was live. Great game, but sadly, a loss.

I feel your pain, I was at my son's basketball tournament final game, I was following it on NFL app on my phone, we go up and then we are down 28-24, and NFL.com freezes, it goes back to start of 4th quarter. I ask my friends beside me to look on their phones, all get the same result. Then ESPN for a brief second shows 2.53 up 31-28, and that was the last I saw. Finally NFL shows a final and it was Pitt 28 Mia 24, typical I said to myself, a damn penalty wiped off that winning touchdown. So I left thinking we had lost, and somehow Baltimore had come back to beat the damn Viqueens, I was bummed. Sports radio was talking about all of the other games so still unaware. Then the announcer said that he had to correct what he said earlier, that the Pats hadn't clinched the AFCE because they had to win and the Dolphins had to lose or tie to clinch AFCE. My son shouts out, "Dad that means the Dolphins must have won!" I nearly crashed the car in the snow I was so pumped, came home and saw the highlights, and all was well in the world.

You could still be a lifelong single man whore without being a rich golfer. Perhaps your servicing options would not be as high quality as Tiger gets, but you could shop like for K Mart women instead of Sachs 5th Ave types.
That is my best advice. Stay single and raise your kids to do the same.
