    No Poll...just discuss.

Jimmy Graham is the big ticket Free agent this offseason..and the Saints seem forced to give him the Franchise Tag..so this is really a fantasy....BUT...

Looking at our cap situation...we are poised to be able to add ONE (just ONE) big ticket free agent...by merely letting one of our DT's go....

    So...

Charles Clay and Jimmy Graham...together ...in our system..gets visions of Lombardi trophies dancing in my head...

Would you do it? it is bold..and borderline irresponsible...but..then again...it..Just...might....vault...us..past...that other team in our Division...

...I would, but only if we go O-line heavy in the rest of the Free Agency Period and in the draft. Like seriously, having Graham and Clay (provided the latter keeps on playing the way he does from here on out) is just.......

....Dang it Sec! Now I have to wipe drool off my keyboard. Thanks a lot!

No. This team needs to get rid of Jeff so that players like that can be drafted.

No, but I'd kick the tires on Jermichael Finley

FA in the NFL usually disappoints so going all in with 2 #1's for Graham plus the contract is not something I'd do

The whole league passed him over twice. Settle down. But back to the original question...I wouldn't. I think we're at a stage where we have to draft and sign our own players. Besides, he might get the exclusive tag.

    Right a wrong?

Have to know more ,but if you ask if I would prioritize him as the focal FA? hell yes.

This is a passing league and JG may be the best TE in the NFL and we all pretty much agree a good let alone great TE is a QB's best friend. He would provide eliteness and a red zone statement to this offense imo.

Pipe dream , but I prefer to not pay premium prices ( both dollar wise and acquisition wise ) for o linemen.

Like you said , Lombardi dreams all of a sudden wouldn't be fantasies imo.

People we must realize that there are real world ramifications for making moves like this. First you run the risk of pissing off your own pro bowl caliber TE because he's still playing on his rookie contract. Not to mention we have other contracts that will have to be re-done in the next year or two. There's only so much money to go around.

But if you all want to live in the world of Madden, go ahead.

I like Clay, but discussing him in the same sentence with Graham is wrong. That's like comparing Andy Dalton to Dan Marino or Tom Brady.
Graham is young and unstoppable. I'd trade for him in a second.

That's not the point. You don't bring in outsiders without taking care of your core players. This is the quickest and easiest way to kill morale within your locker-room, not to mention your salary cap.

I'm confused. If Jimmy Graham is going to get tagged how is he on the table?

I say let's not over think this. There are games we'd have won this year if the OL could protect Tannehill. The Dolphins are what, 4-2 or 4-3 since McKinnie joined? Not a coincidence.

I love Jimmy Graham. I believe I drafted him in my simuldraft that year. But if he's franchised, he's off the table.

Well we kind of know this a "fun" post so answers will be in kind .

You bring in any player at a position and pay him mega dollars you have other players at the same position to deal with . Just make sure the player you sign for multi millions is worth it to playoff wins , bottom line for me. If you prioritize one player you could do far worse than Jimmy Graham imo .

I'm not a supporter of dumping huge FA money into offensive skill positions two years in a row, regardless of who it is. Graham's not much of a blocker either, if we're talking about him and Clay on the field at the same time. Next offseason's FAs, if any, should be a few solid mid-to-low-level veterans who shore up depth around this thin roster.

Man, there are still so many holes to fill and with the way Clay has matured, I'd fill the ol holes and resign several of the guys we have on expiring contracts first... Those two first round picks could be Mike Pouncey type players...

Any word on Dustin Keller? Is he going to be able to make it back or is he done? Would love to have him and Clay (the way he's been playing) on the field at the same time.

Yes but we have been playing these games on these boards since the days of Carl Pickens. I'm just trying to brace myself for everyone's brilliant (and detailed) off season plans that have no basis in reality.

Finley's injury may be a career ender. Spinal Fusion Surgery is what Peyton Manning had and there is no guarantee of recovery or nerve regeneration. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4717/jermichael-finley

As for whether I would go after Graham....I would entertain a trade for him if it were the right offer. Since hes franchised his compensation is ridiculous in terms of picks. I wouldnt move a 1 for him.

In a year when we are going to have to use our first rounder on a LT, no, I would not.
The continued safety of Tannehill should be most important goal of the offseason.
If we had an OL I would do it in a heartbeat.

I would make the move if they would entertain it, and we were able to sign the right free agents from our own team, obviously we'd have to sacrifice one or two of our own big ones for the purpose of attacking defenses in a new way with this kind of player.

I would do it because he is elite, he's young, and with clay in the fold your talking about a unique way to attack..

Fwiw, I would give up my first round pick in a heart beat for JG...the U..

After what we been through this season..I want my offensive line turned into a juggernaut. We have enough weapons to win a lot of games next year..if we can somehow get a top 5 offensive line.

This team is so devoid of beasts due to the fathead's philosophy. We are drooling over Clay's plays. We need more beasts on offense. But first things first, and that's getting rid of Jeff.

I agree with this. Graham is tempting, but I would much rather fill the holes on the roster and add some good depth.

ghram is worthless is tanny only has 3 seconds to throw. must get him help on the oline. #1 priority this season. If our oline was average we would be sitting at 9-4.

For this to need to be said about a team after 6 seasons under a GM is not an endorsement of the GM.

I agree. Signing Mike Wallace last year pretty much nixes any chance of getting a guy like Jimmy Graham. What a friggin waste of money. Thanks, Jeffy.

If Tanny had 3 seconds to throw that would be an improvement about half the time. 3-4 seconds is the norm. Hes at less then 3 on many plays.

Exactly might thoughts. Were set at tight end with keller back in the mix and egnew progressing. Spend that money at guard or tackle....or how about an electric kick returner?

We have some playmakers, we need to fix the offensive line. That and middle linebacker should be THE focus, IMO.
