    Lol.

Unrelated, but I read a blurb today that at 10-9, the Lakers are 10th in the West (and thus out of the playoffs). They would be third in the East. I didn't look to confirm, but if true, I guess the disparity between the conferences is still there.

If The East didn't have Miami, I might start a campaign to have that half of the league contracted.

No guessing required...HUGE disparity in conferences.

Miami + Indiana then not much else. That's why I'm guessing NY still makes the playoffs. Yippee.

In the East, there's no point to having the quarterfinals or semifinals because we all know Miami and Indiana are going to be playing each other in the conference finals. The West is a totally different story. The playoffs in the West will be fun to watch because that conference is so deep with good teams.

The promo video for Kobe's return was probably the greatest video he has ever been a part of. Very strong marketing piece. They would be stupid not to show it tonight under dimmed arena lights and him coming out right after it's done.

Of course, if they do that and he goes 3 for 17 with 11 points, it's going to look silly.

So the Kings are paying 17 million this year and 20 million next year for a 39% shooter?

How does anyone think Rudy Gay is good? He's more or less Josh Smith. Thinks he can do way more than he actually can.

    Heat and Pacers Tuesday.

It looks silly regardless. It was an injury, he didn't cone back from the dead or something.

I'd be embarassed if Lebron had that. Though sadly he probably would too.

Uhm...LeBron did way worse with his intro video to Miami.

Kobe's was a 90 second teaser to help hype the return of one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

Was it over the top? Absolutely. Most things in sports are.

But having said that, it was a cool video that was produced much better than most NBA hype packages.

That being said, he looked cautious and a little overweight to me.

Cavs took it to the Knicks tonight, though not quite like the Celtics did.

No they are not definitely not. They a hot mess right now. They will be better when Chandler is back and they have some actual size but they're very flawed. I would say they have moves to make but with this schmuck owner the best move they can make right now is none.

Knicks and Raps discussing a Kyle Lowry for Raymond Felton swap (Felton is out 2-3 weeks).

Felton and Shumpert are the rumored names heading out. Lowry makes 6M, expires before the 2015 offseason and is a pitbull on D Id love that.
Id expect the NYK to try and get Terrence Ross (CAA client like half of MSG) or Amir Johnson (who fills a major need for more height and shot blocking) back as well. Theyd have to throw in more salary to do that but it might be worth it as long as its not THJr or another 1st.

Also looking at Andre Miller with a match with the Raps seemingly more likely..

Since 2009 the list of Pg's who have scored 30 vs Lowry: http://gothicginobili.com/?p=4172
John Wall (38 points, 59% shooting) on January 16th, 2012.
Russell Westbrook (33 points, 56% shooting) on November 6th, 2009. (Lowry only played 19 minutes.)
Tony Parker (31 points, 65% shooting) on April 1st, 2011.
Derrick Rose (30 points, 46% shooting) on December 4th, 2010.

Sounds like the Knicks are toying with using either Chandler or Shumpert as bait to dump Amare or JR. If you want to dump Amare with Shumpert I guess I could put up with it all things considered. But defensive stop gaps like Tyson Chandler don't grow on trees.

Knicks are obviously planning on making some runs on Love and Kyrie

well the first quarter of the season is over and it was horrid for the Nets but it looks like they got the ship righted or at least stopped the leaks. Kidd is actually starting to coach now that he has benched Lawrence Frank and actually doing ok. Had a nice defensive adjustment vs the clippers where he shut down chris paul with the assists and kept him to two. Deron Williams is healthy and playing great since his return. Hopefully he avoids stepping on other players sneakers. Lopez has improved again from last year and is even more of a scoring threat. Joe Johnson has played tremendously for us the first twenty games and is playing like the player we expected when we got him. so basically what we have is the big three from last year all playing at the top of their games going into the second quarter of the season. other early contributors have been Blatche, Anderson and Teltovic. Our first rounder Plumlee is holding his own and contributing as well. Livingston is ok, nothing special though. AK 47 should be back sometime around Christmas and should be a huge addition defensively. Pierce at this point is a bust who should probably stay on the second string unless his game improves and Garnett is struggling but not a complete bust. It seems he's getting a little more comfortable with the team each game.

It seems the first fifteen games or so we couldnt figure out what our offense and defnese would be like. Probably alot to do with the war between Frank and Kidd as well as trying to incorporate Garnett and Pierce. But now we've settled in a bit on offense and have improved enough defensively not to be a complete disaster which we were the first fifteen. We really need AK 47 to come back though. He's great at preventing those 17-4 runs that we still give up once a game. Expect the Nets to play .500 ball or better for the second quarter.

After last night, Carmelo is now shooting 47.2%/39.4% with Pablo Prigioni on the court. Drops down to 42.9%/31.5% with Pablo off.

Guess we know the starting PG for NYK should be Pablo not Fatso. Now if Pablo would shoot a little more...

NYK should not be considering a Pau-for Tyson and Shump swap. Tyson is VERY moveable. Make LAL take Amare. Otherwise deal with the fact youre stuck with Amare til 2015 and his dead weight contract. You can always move Shumpert for Picks before you renounce his rights at the end of 2015. That deal will be there. Knicks need to be smart for once.

Lastly Timmy Jr looks like a keeper. Hes already a favorite of Dolan and leads all rookies in 3 point percentage. Hes also starting to show he can create his own shot at times which is a nice skill to have. The Knicks desperately need someone else who can do this

Refs sucked tonight, but Blazers killed 2nd chance points also (not to mention what seemed like 30 threes).

The Blazers have so many long rebounds that were way too deep for the Cavs' bigs to reach and the guards weren't getting to them either. It was killing them. Should've won that game.

I'm irrationally excited about Dion Waiters' play recently.

And adding Jeff Green if they can do it cheap would be incredible.
