Maybe if he saved some food for the rest of his family instead of becomming a fat **** that couldnt move laterally, there would be more for his kids to eat.

but it is hilarious that he has two defensive touchdowns this year back in Arizona. He had so many opportunities for pick sixes here and dropped every one of them. This is what happens when you are still counting your money during the game.

He unfortunately is up for it cause like usual players leave Miami and play better all of a sudden.

he's had a good year so far. good for him, but he's delusional if he thinks he'll win DPOY or get into a ring of honor.

His season hasn't been DPOY worthy. His seasons in Miami could have been, there were at LEAST ten balls in his time here that hit him squarely in his hands.

You can't blame the team for whatever was going on in his head.

This is soooo true of soooo many. Probably why so many free agents bomb during their time here but do better at their next (less paying) stop. I don't begrudge these guys their cash, but….

It was a mistake to let him walk, but I think that was Philbins and Coyles choice, not sure why he wasn't told in person unless he was in Arizona during the offseason..

Where I am, you get paid according to how profitable you are, not how hard you try or even how hard you work. In football, it's how many big plays you come up with, not whether you play with one arm.

It's a dumb statement and makes zero sense.

However, it's clear that he's been a better player than the way we utilized him. Maybe, it was the contract and he got happy. I'm not sure.

All I know is that he's been a helluva player this year. He was a helluva player in Arizona before. When he was in Miami, he was a solid player.

I wish we'd have kept him too. Playing with a torn triceps...wow.

Guess what Karlos... your play here offended me, and the fact you're crying like a little ***** over a few million, when you got what... 20 some million guaranteed when you signed here? I know someone who would kill for $1000 bucks right about now, nevermind the million's you're crying about when you already have a million you ungrateful prick.

The one thing that really concerns me in this article however... we cut him by phone? Seriously??? Way to go Ireland if true.... that's just pathetic on our part, and I can't say I'd blame him for being a bit bitter about that.

    3 Things....
    1. You know what else is disrespectful Karlos? Complaining when you are making a few million.
    2. Hes not wrong about it being disrespectful to cut a player over the phone. Thats not how its supposed to be done. You get get a knock on the door to hand in your playbook. You get a meeting and asked to restructure. Something. Speaks to the lack of leadership/common courtesy in the front office and Irelands reputation. A few players now have said similar things. Even if we won the Super Bowl I dont want Ireland around....I dont want the reputation of our GM scaring players off, creating rumors and scuttle about what goes on...thats the type of stuff that really distracts players when they see another peer who played hurt get completely disrespected like that.
    3. My beef the whole time he was here is that he wasnt utilized as well as well as he could be. Dansby is a 3-4 player. He was good here but he could have been better had he been used better. I put that at the feet of the coaches.

It was during the offseason. Its not like he's hanging around the facility. He likely wasn't even in town. I'd be more pissed if someone made me travel just to fire me.

Of course he wouldn't be hanging around the facility, that's what people who workout in the offseason do.

Who knows the situation that led to this. When you let someone go, the goal is to have it go smoothly, and as seamlessly as possible. In IT, all your logins may be maybe locked up before you even know what's going on (fear of vindictive coding). Maybe Dansby was not considered the type to let things go smoothly if present in the building....just speculating, but all i'm saying is, we only know what Dansby said, nothing else. For me, that's not enough to put any blame on Ireland - or anyone for that matter.

Dansby, don't let the door hit you.....

It's not right of him to say that if the he was in Arizona, which he was, and it's not right for him to come into camp at admittedly 275 lbs..did anyone mention that, maybe they should on twitter.

Remember guys it was also a stealth swap. They signed our new LB's and dropped our old ones at the same time. Would have blown things if word got out we cut them first.

no wonder he is having financial problems

True, but still, it's the offseason. Dansby probably wasn't around to bring him in anyway. Although Ross has that private jet... he should have flown Ireland to wherever Dansby was to cut him and then pat his children's heads as he's dropping the mic. :shifty:

I heard him on Crowder's show the other day and he said it was like "playing left-handed". He was used to being a weakside 3-4 guy and had never been the Mike before. After Crowder left it was on him and he never really got comfortable with it.

He also gave Parcells and Mike Nolan credit for him being the player he is today. That playing and learning under those two are what sold him on coming to Miami. But if he could it all over again, he'd pass on Miami.

I'm not really feeling the money/kids plate stuff from a multi-millionaire. But cutting a guy over the phone is generally unprofessional to me. If he were out of the area that makes it a bit different.

EDIT: I want to say that they originally tried to renegotiate with him and he wasn't interested? Something like that?

Agreed... and I'm sure negotiations were being handled thru his agent anyway. I know of worse. The VP of Operations at a former company I worked at called a Sr Manager at home and fired him on the afternoon of Christmas Eve in 1999 while he was PTO with his family. Now that was s***** all the way around.

No sympathy for Dansby. Always out of shape and running his mouth while here.

The man has 6 sacks, 1 ff, 1 FR, 16PDs, 3 int and 2 touchdowns. Along with 105 tackles, and 7 tackles for a loss. He has played lights OUT and arguably better than any LB in the game this year. He should be up for DPOY, or at least in the convo.
