He looks better than both our rookie corners already... Great pick up by Ireland.

I wouldn't say that. The WR had inside position on the DB so don't be so sure. But boy did we miss Grimes on that drive, all those sidelines passes in the air would not have happened with grimes and his hops.

Have to say, Davis sure is what i thought he was coming out draft day, garbage.

Thomas was amazing for miami today, simply amazing all game long. Even the tackle he had on the RB earlier on was with great instincts.

It is bad but hey... if he turns out to be a good reserve corner for us or better, then I don't care. We got Grimes, Wilson, Carroll all filling the spots anyways though some need to get healthy.

This late in the season with everyone nicked, it takes fresh legs and gamers. We won that game on coaching and bringing in the right player because our secondary was exposed today. Tannehill to put us up 24-20 is really becoming clutch. Two weeks two final TD drives. No complaints, I just hope they keep working because they all need it.

They were both huge plays. Unless he makes the first one the chance at the 2nd one wouldn't have happened. Davis is still a guppy swimming with sharks. Not surprising given his limited experience and at a lower level of competition. He has athleticism and ball skills though. His tackling has improved and he is playing cautious to not give up the big play. Far too soon to call him a bust though.

man, what a great story! Monumental plays at the end of the game by Michael Thomas. He had a nice special teams hit too that got the crowd fired up. I don't think I can remember a story like this ever for our Dolphins. First week on the team after being signed off another team's practice squad, making this impact. I think of Bernie Parmalee and his story but I don't think his success / impact came that quickly, and he was signed after a tryout (formerly with UPS not PS :shifty:).

What a class act. How much do you want players like that in the locker room?

I hope to read/see some more about his story. Perseverance pays off.

I can't remember if it was Nantz or Simms that was saying that the 49ers didn't want to lose him. Upped his pay and everything to keep him. Glad he made that decision to come here lol.

He was on a practice squad so he didn't have a choice right? A player can't elect to stay on a practice squad over going to a 53 man roster can he?

No wonder I didn't know who the hell that was. What an unbelievable story. Man, after that play, and that game, I'm really pulling for this kid. Seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders to boot.

From one team to another, yes he can. The difference in money is pretty big though. The team trying to sign the PS player from another team would have to be really an unattractive situation for a PS player to decline signing.

Indeed, that play was beautiful. I thought that was game right there - ball was great and it looked like he had the ball. Then suddenly see you it squirt out and bounce down the field. Once they rolled the replay I was super impressed by his focus to knock it out of there.

    You're welcome...

I had high hopes for Thomas next year, finally making the 53 and contributing on STs and sub-packages maybe. Honestly don't know why they just didn't bump him up to the 53, as teams had been sniffing around trying to sign him all year. That's why they upped his pay. But I think you guys offered Thomas a xchance to actually see the field, something I don't think we could promise so I understand his decision, as he had turned down numerous offers before from other teams. I trust Baalke when it comes to personnel so I just figured they had their reasons why they chose to keep him in on the PS. But seeing how he's made such an impact already, gotta wonder if he didn't get a litttle "cute" with thinking Thomas wouldnt bolt for the RIGHT opportunity and just went ahead an promoted him to our 53. First Marcus Cooper, now Thomas...par for the course I guess. I'll be keeping a eye on him though. And congrats on the win.
