Think about this for a moment, THill in the last two weeks:

-Beat the Stealers in a snowy stadium a gm we were not "supposed" to win
-Came from behind against the patsies in a gm we were not "supposed" to win

Heard a saying once "and the boy grew tall"

    Indeed

What QB doesn't miss throws or have inconsistencies? We've just seen Manning lose to a team we beat and Brady lose to us. He's not a HoFer by any stretch but he's growing drastically. How much more could you want of him, being in his second year, with his lack of experience? He's right where I would have hoped he'd be this year, if not better.

I've been very impressed with Tanny the last two weeks especially. He's showing some marked improvement over the course of the season. It's very encouraging.

Well, if one thinks about it, THill won this one not by running the read option, he was largely a pocket Qb today.

We needed a Td, he produced it, the Fiedler Curse is now broken, the future looks so bright..gotta wear shades...

I'd say we got Manning's number, but this depleted secondary can be a problem. Clay also motioned to come off the field after his conversion. Everyone is on life support it seems. We could be heading into a lions den next week.

I've said all along that it'll be a good four or five years before RT reaches his potential, but IMO he's now playing at a top 10 level. Before the season I said that I thought he could be a top 10 QB by the end of the year. (Not overall stats-wise b/c I thought he'd be below that level during the first half of the season, but play level over the last quarter). He's clearly meeting my expectations. By my calculations he has a 93.7 rating since the Cincy game (170/260 1858 12 TDs 5 ints). That rating would rank 10th overall among QBs who've played a full game. I think his potential is as top 5 QB by year 4 or 5.

Before that, the D would step up all day but the offense had trouble scoring more than 10 points a game :shifty:

boy does Sherman mean it when he says, ''ryan will be a pocket passer before he will be a running qb''

not one read option run, not one roll out to either side, and not one run by tannehill...

lol..it truly blows my mind, and we know ryans ceiling comes from the pocket, but to not use his other half in the gameplan is so difficult to grasp..

personally, him taking another 5 sacks today screams to me to make the pocket unpredictable, but that only makes what he's doin imo even more impressive.

I would still like him to incorporate the conscious run into his game..

This 3 game win streak has really showed Tannehill turning that corner. He looks confident. I like that. And there's some zip on that ball too. I'm thrilled. This season was all about developing him. This is a great start. I still think it's next year we really see who he is, but I'm very happy right now. Others? Some people just can't be pleased.

Pats were +1.5 dogs today but I believe that was due to the game being in Miami. Essentially what you saw was a matchup between teams in which nobody knew who would win. The home field advantage is why we were favorites.

    EDIT: Disregard me

He never ran from it but we called some read option plays and NE at least on one play I noticed were aware of it and Lamar Miller had a nice run. If it wasn't there today I have no issue that we didn't force it . It was put in the game plan he'll take advantage when it presents itself .

yeah I'm not about that hindsight that it's ok just because we won stuff..I think moving the pocket with a guy who is exceptional on the run, and who has a 10 yard average with about 20 carries running out of the read option, are both things that should be in the weekly gameplan...at least give me an east west moving pocket..the guy can do things going to his left that maybe he and aaron Rodgers can do and that is all.

If the DE honors the QB in the read option instead of the RB... the QB hands the ball off. The defense dictates in the read option whether the QB runs or not. NE decided to watch the QB, which allowed Miller to gash the D for some nice 7 yard runs up the gut.

I'm so impressed with Ryan's seemingly calmness in the pocket. He's got that "it factor". Good times ahead for us as phins fans.

He owned that game yesterday. And last week. This guy is the boss.

I've got visions of him going on a monster streak in the playoffs now.

It's amazing how much having a QB can make it fun to be a fan again.

Yeah, the play was on a couple of times and the Pats kept a spy on Ryan. He smartly gave the ball to Miller, and we got a few good runs out of it. No big plays, but he played it smart. I can't remember any plays yesterday where he clearly had room to run when his recievers were covered and he chose not to either. The sacks were either great calls by NE or blown blocks. I don't think that he could have done a lot to get out of them yesterday. I'd like to see more role out plays too, but perhaps New England defends in a way that made it riskier than usual, or were showing looks that led Sherman to think that it would blow up.

Omars a douche, typical of a type of person whose ego won't allow them to admit wrong.

And will fans stop acting like they know tannehill won't be a franchise qb as if they r experts! We won vs Ne and yet still fans complain bout RT on qam. Never happy.

they ran a couple of read option plays to see what the DE would do. We will never know if Ryan actually had the option to keep it or not, but they def ran a couple of them.

I dont know what Omar thinks TanneKILL could have done this week besides what he did. He played a turnover free game against one of the leagues best defenses and a team that has tormented us for years. He did what Peyton Manning and Drew Brees couldnt do this season and outplayed Tom Brady.

If we can just get to the playoffs this team isnt going to be an easy out for anyone. I like what I see, I just need to see more of it.

They are not currently one of the league's best defenses. Best coached maybe though. They rank in the bottom third of the league in total yards. They are one of the worst against the run and we didn't gain as many rush yards as they give up on average.

The simple truth is he is playing much better than he was earlier in the year, but at the same time he is still learning and making mistakes. Am I excited? Sure, his last few games is showing growth. As long as he keeps that up, I think he may really develop in to that pro bowl stud QB we have been so desperate for.

Now, I don't think it is any coincidence that he has started playing better once his oline started blocking better. Just imagine how good he could be if we actually had a good oline!?

Tannehill is a young QB who is still learning but the best thing I see is that he is succeeding despite being pounded in the backfield. Brady was only sacked once yesterday and Tannehill was sacked 4 times and Tannehill still outplayed Brady. If Tannehill ever gets a good offensive line who are consistently good we will see Tannehill improve.

Bro how do you know if a read option is real unless he keeps it? They were using a spy, he didn't need to keep any.

I think there is no intention to have the option for the Qb to run when they call those specific ones, more like a glorified handoff..

The body language of the Qb as well, the positioning of both the Qb and back in the backfield on the plays..

They were tenth in scoring coming into this game so it says a lot that Tannehill was able to throw three touchdowns against them.

To be fair, Omar gave Tannehill credit. Just a curious designation for "kill".

Doesn't really matter. RT did exactly what we wanted to see from him. Whether the Pats scored on the next drive is irrelevant. He came thru in the clutch.
