I took a bunch of crap from a bunch of people in here who didn't think Tannehill was any good last year. I took a year off posting to watch.

It's not necessary for me to defend him anymore. His quality of play is doing it now.

Congrats Dolfans, he IS our franchise QB!

You should listen to the 560WQAM radio shows and the calls people make about Tannehill. You'd seriously think the Patriots just shat on the Dolphins and Tannehill threw for 5 INTs like Eli Manning if you go by what these people say.

The host had the audacity to suggest "Tannehill was well on his way to becoming a franchise QB" and people started calling like he had just called Tannehill the reincarnation of Joe Montana or something.

I'd rather have Tannehill over Montana any day of the week...

Montana must be what, 60 now?

It's pretty clear after these last couple games that Tannehill is not the answer. We need a better qb next year but until then we should start Matt Moore these next two games. Also mike Wallace sucks.

Quarterbacks are always going to have their detractors. Always. I listened to fans call into the local radio station today wanting Eli Manning gone. The same guy who's won 2 Super Bowl MVP awards in the last 7 years.

QB is the biggest position in sports. They will always be under the spotlight and they will always have people wanting to run them off for one reason or another. There will be plenty of anti-Tannehill people around, it's just something we're going to have to deal with.

    Welcome back!

I had some pretty heated arguments with some haters, went overboard, got banned for a while, but then decided it wasn't worth fighting over.

    Yesterday I was vindicated.

    Love me some Tannehill!!

IMO Eli can do no wrong. If Cleo Lemon won us a Super Bowl I would love him forever regardless of what else he does. Hell I love him and Camarillo for that ravens win.

It's going to annoying hearing all those who laughed and dismissed Tannehill now act like they knew he was good all along. Oh boy do I hear the bandwagon coming around the corner....

Eli is just having a bad year. He'll bounce back. The weird thing this season is a lot of the bad teams, giants, falcons, texans are a few players away from being good. They won't be a bad team for years to come. Texans need a qb, and Atlanta could trade down and be in good shape.

Eli is proof positive that winning a Superbowl does not make a play an "elite" quarterback.

Don't listen to the people that crap on Tannehill. They probably also called for Scott Mitchell to take over for Marino after Marino tore his achilles.

Tannehill should be benched for not winning the last two games by bigger margins . . . :shifty:

He has definitely made some big strides in the last few games. I was wavering on him earlier in the year, but he has pretty well won me over now. He still has room to grow too, hope he continues to get even better!

Tannehill is currently outplaying Andrew "the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning" Luck. If that isn't enough to at least give him a chance to show what else he can do going forward, then I really have no idea what the anti-Tannehill crowd wants.

I listen to the same shows. It makes me sick to my stomach to hear what some of our fans say.

There were Patriots fans on their board yesterday calling for Brady to be benched. Haters gonna hate.

Difference is that Eli was never as good as he was built up to be.

There's a side to this argument. Maybe you weren't around here because just 3 games ago Tannehill had a 15 TD/13 INT ratio and was getting crushed by most pundits and his stock was falling.

It's fine that you believe he's a franchise QB. That's fair. But don't come in after 3 games he's played well in and say he's a franchise QB. Remember when we were 3-0 and people were saying the same thing?

I'm still not sold. However, I'm here...all the time...defending my position, while stating that my position just may be wrong. He just might be the franchise QB. But, I'm not starting "I told ya so" threads.

If he plays poorly the last two games, there will be more haters. If he plays well, their be more lovers. That's the life of the NFL. Rocky said it best with his Eli explanation.

    Fixed the TD/INT ratio.

Also do not agree that he was getting crushed by most pundits at that point.

Don't look at me I always supported Tanne, you'd have to be an idiot to throw ANY rookie under the bus imo, but especially QB position.

There were two or three trolls that bagged on tannehill. The vast majority of the board has always supported him. These I told you so posts are getting silly.

  25. I knew nothing about him when we drafted him. I have been watching closely since (as we all have) and his play has been encouraging. I see more upside with him and his short comings are fixable. I see the potential for greatness in him but until he shows it to me I will continue to maintain a reserved optimism toward him. He has come a long way from being a rookie with only 16 college starts and it don't look like he is done growing. Its pretty exciting to watch it and I am enjoying the ride.

Yup. Bench Tannehill. Start Matt Moore. Next year draft Johnny "Touchdown". Move RT to WR. Make it happen Jeffy. :shifty:

My whole stance and how I've been evaluating Tannehill from the first time I laid eyes on him in camp (where I immediately recognized how much more talented he was than anything we've seen since Danny) was and is, measured in the elite Qb ceiling dept...his talent is evident, his ceiling was always from the pocket, I'm constantly in search of the other dimension that he could possibly bring to his game and make him that elite Qb...right now I'm in a battle of trying to figure the development process, and how he will incrementally get to that dimension.

Eli Manning doesn't really have man "on" years... He has a career 81 QB rating, sub 60% completion, and is 83-66 as a starter. I know he's got two rings and he earned both playing well in the playoffs, but I don't think he's great by any stretch. Like you said, I love him for beating the pats in two SB's, especially the 18-1 season, but I've never been overly impressed with Eli. He's this generations John Elway, whom I also feel is incredibly overrated. Star power outshines talent by a mile.

As for Tannehill. Still young in both age and experience. Doesn't have a good offensive line, which hurts pass protection and run game, and his receivers disappear at times. He hasn't been as consistent as one would hope, but that's true for the entire offense and I don't think it reflects on him as much as some do. He does have a few too many fielder moments for my liking. Playing well and suddenly it's pick city. But I'm completely committed to Tannehill for a minimum of 4 years. Excited to see how he finishes this season and hopefully how he performs in his first playoff appearance!
