I generally agree, pappy.... but I'm ok including the fastbacks through '68 and then the '69 and '70 Boss.

As beautiful as that fire engine red '65 GT is, from having owned a '65 and now owning a '13, I have to say that, if you trace the history, the S197 (2005+) cars are closer to the original than anything since the Mustang II was foisted on us in '73. I remember test driving the '13 and being impressed with how much it felt like the '65 translated into modern technology. Getting 420 ponies out of the same-displacement block (302 CID) is absolutely sick, and the handling is worlds better on a similar chassis layout. I just wish they'd have dumped the Chinese trans and gone to the Tremec box they use in the Shelby.

Maybe the IRS is more of the same progress. I'm thinking now that we might have to drive the '15 before we can say whether it's a Mustang.

    Apparently you've never driven a '70 Boss 429 then.

I think that it looks great. Its basically a sports car verson of the Fusion, which is what I drive. I love my Fusion.

You make it seem like thats a bad thing. Car companies often have a theme or look across their line. I for one really, really like the way they've designed the new Fords. As another poster said, they look a little like an Aston Martin or Jaguar. I bought a car for 20k that looks and drives like one twice as expensive. Im happy.

For the hybrid discussion: besides fuel economy, you are also saving on maintenance costs. The engine only runs about half of the time, plus regenerative braking = very low maintenance costs.

Yes, it is when it's the company's flagship performance model. You don't see the Corvette or Camaro looking like the Malibu, and you don't see the Viper or Challenger looking like the Dart.

My Uncle has the Eleanor and a 13' Shelby..last Shelby year while Carroll was alive. They are matching color and striping. That is all.

He doesn't so much 'drive it' as get ported around, lying in the backseat, between gangbang scenes.

My uncle is "kind of a big deal" in the car restoration world. He is also a classic car dealer, trader, collector, etc. He also stores a lot of his customers cars, so a trip to his shop can be like a visit to a car museum. If you ever have a gig down the shore, south of Asbury, let me know. You usually seem to be at either Clifton, NJ or Delaware as far as gigs within 100 miles of me, with not much in between.

PM me with where he's located bro. I'm down in South Jersey every now and then, and I drive to Philly every weekend to rehearse, so what's to stop me from making a detour on the way home?

Yes no offense but when they make a Mustang look like a Fusion, that sucks....

Ive generally thought the Mustangs the last 15 or so years have been good looking cars for a muscle car. This one is aesthetically pleasing but it is not a muscle style mustang. That is like a Jag and a Supra got fused. Not bad looking but not something Id call a traditional muscle car.

Re: Prius vs Hyundai....I test drove two Hyundai's. I felt like the seating was like climbing out of a ditch and did not like the way the Sonata or Santa Fe handled. I was coming from a Camry which sits just as low to the ground as the Sonata. I ended up in a Highlander frankly because I got a sick buy and decided I wanted a gas guzzling vehicle since enough people are driving Prius's. I didnt test drive a Prius but it cant possibly be worse at anything. Hyundai = heap of metal and plastic thrown together and called a car even though it rode like a bicycle. I used to make fun of Prius drivers now I make fun of Hyundai's
