With a 7-6 record and a win and you're in scenario but dropped games to Buffalo, Detroit and NE. It seems every year there are a lot of teams in the hunt but I'm more cognizant and apprehensive of it this year because we kind of knew what would happen in 2010 but this year I'm more confident we'll move on because of Tannehill and the coaches. Also when you look back on the draft that year, we'll see how they handle things with a hotter hand at QB. He'll need to be on like he was against NE because we know Buffalo's secondary are ball haws. He threw an INT at the Buf goal line in the last game and Buffalo leads the league in INTs. The question is, will they come in flat as they have in prior years in this situation? 128Jared OdrickDEPenn State6'5" 240Koa MisiOLBUtah6'3"251373 296John JerryGOle Miss6'5"3284119 A. J. QB makes all the difference....no comparison to any prior scenario we try to shoehorn in as fans. 2010 was AGES ago from QB quality standpoint. I personally get the vibe of 5 in a row to bookend the season that started with 3 wins, and thus 3 straight AFCE div opponents victories (4 in row all total for '13), by closing out with these last 2 wins to accomplish that. Its just a different vibe.
The past has no bearing on today. If all you do is keep looking back. . You'll miss that crack in the walk ahead. . Trip and fall on your face. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
I actually believe this team will win both games. Back then I expected them to screw it up. I agree with the sentiment that the QB makes all the difference. If he maintains this level of play we'll be dangerous in January. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
I'm really apprehensive and find myself thinking about a bunch of superstition with everything I do around home. I hope we get a breather on the score so they can continue to build on what they've been doing. There are just so many ways we can win this game and fewer ways to lose I believe.
I think we win out. The stars have aligned with this schedule. The Bills w no Manuel or Stevie Johnson then the Jets at home. It would take a pretty epic collapse to lose either of those games (knocks on wood).
I think both of the teams we are playing are cashed in, I would be surprised if we lost either of the two games. Then again we've done it before so.... But something just feels different, we never seemed to win games with our backs against the wall and we have this year. I think the last few weeks has prepared us for games of significance.
I want to believe that things have changed and that the Fins will man up and play to the best of their ability and win both of these games. But if you put a gun to my head and told me I had to pick what would happen and if I was wrong I would die my best guess given our history is that we will drop one of these last two games.
I know exactly what you`re saying, its called "been down this road all too many times". I really want to say that this year, this team, is totally different but I have no choice but to be extremely cautious. I feel we have the team to win the last two but I wouldn't bet on it by no means. This time Lucy can hold the football and say what she wants, I`m NOT going to run up and try to kick it only to land on my *** again.
(On if there is a chance the team would take Buffalo lightly) – Tannehill: “No, I don’t think so at all. We have a lot of respect obviously we lost to them earlier this year and that’s reality. We’re not taking this game lightly at all we understand, especially the offense that’s how I think of things. They have a good defense, they have playmakers. A good front, opportunistic secondary that will pick off a pass if it’s there. There is no relaxing form an offensive perspective.” (On what turned the Dolphins around since loss to Buffalo) – Cam Wake: “If I’ve heard correctly I think 12 of our 14 games have come down to one score or less. Obviously we’ve been in a lot of games where it’s been close and it’s a lot of experience in playing to the end of the game. You have to literally play the full 60 minutes and when you’re in a game that’s that close at the end you literally have to go back and look at every play is the play of the game. It could be that play in the middle of the second quarter that turns around when you look at it at the end of the game was the play of the game but at the time you have no idea that that’s the case. I think we’ve gotten into a groove where, we are who we are and we have to go out there and you literally have to play every play every snap all out. There is no play off, there is no series off, no back side of plays. Everybody has to be all hands on deck and I think when we do that we’ll definitely be victorious.” http://www.thefinsiders.com/blog/20...ns-bills?_ga=1.227369115.768565260.1387668812
Big difference is in 2010 this team scored 15 points or less in 8 games and gave up 30 or more in 4. A net of -60 points on the season. 2013's team has not scored 15 or less points at all. Lowest score was the 16 against Carolina. We've only given up more then 30 once. A net of +14 on the season so far.
As much as I like your quote and optimism...as a 47 yr old Dolphin fan...it's hard not to look back and remember all the kicks to the balls we have endured in big spots like these. Lots of different teams...a lot of the same results. Please make us believers
Yeah, this too. It seems the older fans are more cautious then the younger ones. And , NO I`m NOT questioning the loyalty of any fan regardless of age, please understand that, its just that when you get burnt so many times you get a little leery of putting your hand back in the fire. I`m practically begging this team to make me a true believer, truth be known I`m almost there.
I agree, and to be honest I felt more confident last week against the Patriots then I do this week against the Bills. The Pats were primed to get beat but this Bills team can ruin our season if we don't take care of business.
I don't know. I think there are a number of reasons to be worried about the Jets: 1. They are hot and cold. As bad as they've been some weeks, they've been good in others. This is a team that's also beaten the Patriots, and they've beaten New Orleans as well 2. They were embarrassed by us last time. If not their worst game of the season then pretty close to it. 3. They seem to play better against us in our place than they do in MetLife 4. They would love nothing more than to be a spoiler. 5. Rex Ryan might be fighting for his job. The players love Rex, so I doubt they'll lay down if they think they can make a difference. Best case scenario might be to take care of business in Buffalo and hope Balt and Cincy both lose, then we wouldn't have to worry about the game.
I thought the defense starting playing at another level against Carolina..I thought that certain unit's on the team and certain players were starting to gel, and would win their next four...I'm in..
That was the exact kick to the balls I was referring about. Seen it so many times..yet it still makes you shake your head. This is being a Dolphin fan
