I know many people hated Dave Wannstedt but I will say this at least Dave didn't have a O.C. who abandon the run or abandon the player who is hot. I hated Dave's draft picks but his coaching is a hell of a lot better then Philbin's at Least Dave gave us Ricky , Chris , wes , and the talented Randy McMichael even Travis Minor was a better back then what we have now. say what you will about these guys at least they played with a lot of Heart Chris Chambers looks like Paul Warfield compared to Hartline . I don't even know why people were so in love Hartline . and Devon Bess his antics today makes me wonder how any fanbase can be stupid enough to believe he was a playmaker. letting Wes go to a rivial was bad but replacing him with a player who was /is nowhere near as good . you don't win superbowls replacing talent with lessor players. Dave said on a talk show 3 months ago he wanted to go with his first hunch but he went for depth instead of taking Brees so if you take away his draft picks on defense they sure as hell were better then anything Jeff Ireland HAS DONE . AT least the players and opponents respected Dave Wannstedt and his teams were usually ready to play . there isn't no way in hell we would put a bad procut on the field like that is being thrown out there like today . good coaches don't let a big scandal get out of control. Philbin may be ok but he is no Dave Wannstedt the thing is people can say what they want to but I would take Wannstedt over Philbin any day. we need smarter players to go along with talent .
Child please. Wanny was by far worse at drafting than Ireland. It's not even close. He was given a loaded roster when he took over and squandered it with his undying devotion to Jaybird at QB. He didn't have anything to do with Wes being in Miami either. He was long gone by the time the team acquired Wes.
Wrongstash was soo good he literally ran Ricky Williams into the ground and then out of football.. I think over all talent had more to do with this loss, tho coaching today was questionable. it was inevitable something like this was going to happen, this team has been playing above its over all talent lvl. Wannstedt is an organization killer.
I cannot believe the original post. Thank you for reestablishing my confidence in human beings with your response. Dave Pornstache was a Category 6 Hurricane to this franchise. From his conservative approach to his awful personnel decisions to the disaster he was at drafting he was an unsurvivable plague. Wanny was given a roster that was not that far off from being a true contender and instead of improving it he ran it right down into the toilet. His management or complete dismissal of the importance of the QB position being one of the biggest blunders. I seriously doubt and I truly hope that there will never be a bigger villain than Wanny was to this franchise.

hold on now I was going by the fact players respected him and ok I will give you Ireland is a little better but no way is this team better coached . I am going by the wins - loss record and how our guys played better and I know no one want s to belief it but Dave wins loss record is better . the only thing I didn't like was his draft picks on defense , not offense . I will defend my statement his free agent pick ups were definitely better then Ireland's f/a/ signings
Wanny took one of the most talented defenses we had and squandered it with p**sy a** prevent defenses and soft defenses in the 4th quarter with a small lead. I mean you had Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Patrick Surtain and Sam Madison. Not to mention a lot of quality starters and you just piss that down your leg. I'll be happy if I never think of that turd of a head coach again. He sucked at the college level and had no business f***ing up my beloved Dolphins.
Keep in mind, our O-line was so bad we made a defensive back look like humanoid organism born out of the genetic material spliced from Jason Taylor, Reggie White, and Michael Strahan.
