Interesting choice of the word solemn..@AbramsonPBP: A solemn Joe Philbin walked out of locker room and hugged Dawn Aponte. He then hugged his wife and they walked to bus together.

lol what? I gave my opinion on the tweet. I didn't see anything interesting about it. He hugged a co-worker and his wife before leaving work. What's the story here?

Now, if the tweet said he pimp slapped Aponte before walking to the bus, then THAT would be interesting.

The context of the tweet is that Joe was leaving the stadium after the Bills game yesterday when Andrew tweeted this. My guess is, he was solemn because his team just got their butts handed to them.

The implication is that he received bad news, such as one might receive about their future employment following the worst loss of the season. It is speculation of course, but the emphasis was obviously on his demeanor.

Right. Which is exactly how I'd expect him, or anyone else on the team to react after the game.

I seriously doubt this. No one is going up to him in the locker room after the game and telling him his job is on the line because of the loss. I honestly don't think his job is on the line at all.

Don't get me wrong, Noles. I appreciate you sharing, especially because even though I follow all the reporters, I didn't see this tweet previously.

I just don't think there is anything going on here. Solemn is how you'd expect a coach or player on a losing team to react, more so after a beat down.

I doubt it as well. Despite the *** kicking, they're still in the middle of a playoff race. Any bad news would come after they're officially eliminated.

Well the owner of the team can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. If he wanted to fire Philbin at half time he could have.I'm not saying that's what happened. Just pointing out the speculation of the tweet.

You're right, but Ross isn't that kind of person and the team is still very much alive for the playoffs. Ross also loves Philbin.

The whole relationship is rather strange, wrong, or eerie with Aponte. Anyways they lost a game that got crushed. emotions all over the place. Hugs his wife, of course, just getting alittle sorry you lost like that feeling we are here for you.

That's what I found to be the strangest of all.

The Philbin/Aponte relationship is very odd. If Ross loves Aponte, that "relationship" may keep Joe around...

Wait, you think Ross just told him that he'd not be returning next year, after this loss...but he'll coach the last game of the season ?? If he got bad news about his employment, it would most likely be that he was fired NOW, not that he'll be allowed to coach this last game and then be fired... Look, he was solemn because his team got their butts handed to them by a team they should have beaten. I just can't see how you'd make that determination from that tweet...

Not only that, Rocky, but Ross can probably use the Bully-gate as an excuse to let him go rather than just the fact that they've had a dissapointing season...I don't get that kind of a vibe from this tweet, other than to point how how devastated that he actually is from this loss...

Why do they meet on a daily basis? Why is she at every practice? The answer is obvious, but many here are not willing to embrace the truth.

I wouldn't put it past Ross to have an interview live on CBS with a potential HC this week...

Then have Ireland interview somebody for the GM position...

    Wouldn't be surprised at all.

I dunno....but...its only been two years since the passing of his son, who died just after new years two years ago. Given that its so close to the holidays, and his somber demeanor, and the show of affection from both Aponte and his wife...

Maybe he's having a hard time with the death of his son during the holidays. I mean...I know I would be. Hell, Id be a mess every Christmas.

It's just odd that Aponte, who is essentially a cap and contracts person, is this involved with the head coach.

She's a bean counter, yet she has inserted herself into public relations (writing his speeches and prepping him for press conferences) and she hangs around practice.

I presume she's making a power play and has glommed on to Philbin since Ross really likes him for whatever reason. Probably angling to be the first female GM. she'll put Brian Gaine in charge of scouting/personnell and then she and Philbin will make the selections. And we will be in for another decade of crap.

That tweet doesnt imply that Dawn and Philbins wife were even standing together or,close by one another when the hugs took place. Aponte might have been closer to the locker rooms and his wife could`ve been waiting for him elsewhere. It might have been a "hang in there" hug from Aponte for all we know and then Philbin met up with is wife, hugged her ,then went to the bus. If there IS something else between them two I personally dont care. JUST WIN SUNDAY!
