He didn't play well today but Cmon man. Two of those picks were in garbage time and the other Mike Wallace fell down on.

Tannehill wasnt good today. but noone else made plays either so quit being the typical uneducated fan that blames everything on teh qb because they dont know any better. Tannehill definitely shares in teh blame but receivers didnt help him out catching balls that hit hands.

and defense shat the bed again

I wouldn't care if he threw for 17,000 yards; if he can't hit a receiver in stride, then he's not good enough to win with consistently. We also averaged 22 points per game, an NFL low, and our defense held other teams to 21 (a top 5 stat). That's the only reason why we're even having this conversation right now, because everyone but the kicker has covered Tannehill's wildly inaccurate tendencies.

Garbage time, when you're fighting for playoffs and down? Garbage time would be if we were leading by 20.

I saw a QB who didn't play his best. I'll admit that, but what I saw was an entire team that didn't play well either. One player didnt cost us these two games. The poor coaching, the poor OL, the bad play of the defense at many key times, drops by the WR's, poor RB's... see... that add's up to a poor team, and a poorly coached team at that who lost two consecutive must win games. Not one player. I don't care if you've seen more football than me or not, that's irrelevant. You may have seen more, but I don't think you understand it more, because it's much more than the performance of one player. Without Ryan Tannehill this year, this team wouldn't have even come close to winning 8 games, or even being in playoff contention the last two weeks. He was our entire offense since we were a one dimensional team with no running game whatsoever. You see what you want to see though, and react how you want to react... enjoy it. You're failing to see the big picture though, regardless of how much football you've watched since 1972.

Sure, but the problem there is that even if you completely ignore the 3 picks, he still has close to 30 passes that missed the mark in a "must-win", all or nothing game.

You know what would have boosted PPG? Maybe an OL that can block, and a running game... big picture, not small picture please.

30 passes that missed the mark.. what a crock of **** man. Tannehill threw for almost 4,000 yards with a 60% completion rate and had 24 tds and 17 picks. What about the pass he made that if Matthews isnt tackled by a shoelace its a TD? Wallace fell on the first pick.

So it doesn't matter what a QB does over the course of a season? It only matters how he played the last game? The first time a QB misses a WR, or has a bad game its time to cut him?

That's pretty reasonable. Who cares that he had the best season of any Dolphins QB in the last decade. He missed a receiver in one game so let's cut his ***.

Yes, go back and watch....watch the whole year for that matter. When a pass is at a receiver's feet, thrown behind him or three feet over his head, that's not an accurate throw. You're talking completions...which is what you hope for in average QB's. I'm talking accuracy, which is what sets the average guys apart from the elite.

Didn't I just give you stats for the season? We averaged 21 PPG, an NFL low. I love how you guys quote someone but ignore what they said, then make some other stuff up to fit your pro-Tannehill agenda.

That's pass #1 that was a really good throw. Please name ten more that were on the money....because I only counted 9 for the entire game. The rest were thrown to where the receiver has absolutely no chance of doing anything...and he was 50% on the day to begin with.

Are you saying he gave up then? It wasn't GT. He needed to make plays.

What season were you watching. He made some good throws which every NFL QB should make. Beyond that he was well below average.

I wrote the following in the "choke" thread:

    -------------------------
I saw the best pass protection all season

I saw a complete commitment to a struggling running game ultimately pay dividends by sticking with Lamar Miller.

I saw good run defense against a team averaging 4.4 ypc.

I saw Ryan Tannehill, who has always played better than this, completely choke with innacurate passing. Plenty of reasons the Dolphins are 8-8, the reason they lost to the Jets today: Ryan Tannehill
    ---------------------

Tannehill won more games for the Dolphins this season than he lost. But he choked today, no way around it.

    The biggest offensive plays today?
    The missed TD to Wallace.
    The dropped pass by Matthews.
The slide early on 3rd and 20.

Btw, you see Geno playing for nothing charging into people? You see Tannehill sliding for a massive 3rd down?

PPG is a direct reflection on Tannehill, and nobody else? It has nothing to do with our putrid running game, our historically bad offensive line, our underachieving receivers, or our questionable (at best) play calling? It's ALL Tannehill?

An NFL low? Are Jax, NYJ, Houston, Oakland, Cleveland, NYG, and Bucs no longer in the NFL?

    So CAL

you should pretty much never post on any thread ever, you have no clue anything about football if you want to blame the defense, if it wasn't for the defense the phins would be 6-10, and when you give the ball right back to an already tired defense what the f do you think is going to happen, you have a time of possession of 28 min avg all year which is 29th in the league and you wann blame the defense that means that the defense is 4th on the list of time on the field but your a genius to think there supposed to pitch a shut out with that much time on the field. how about get a first down or two and let them rest, here's a thought isnt the object of the game to score more points than the other team? scoring 7 point ins 8 quarters isn't going to get it done, even the sh!tty *** jags dont have a worse 8 qtr total.

But your a genius to blame the defense, not the 3 picks and the 10+ horrible throws that weren't near anyone.

tannehills inability to thorw the ball down the field, the 10 yard out rights and stop routes done workalll teams do is sit on em then you wonder why you cant run the ball!

Its the same BS i heard all this for henne for pennigton and the other 15+ qbs we have started in 15 years. Ohh franchise, if you cant hit deep routes sit down, its embarrassing a cold Matt moore comes in and throws 6 passes and has 65% of your total yards. Id rather see matt moore take snaps at least he has heart and some balls to try deep routes. its funny how a rookie qb in tampa glennon can come in and impress yet a second year vet cant and everyone wants to sit here n stroke off about tannehill, hey guess what hes horrible and you should realize reality!!

point taken out of the 2013 season!!!

    1. tannehill is a below avg qb
    2. philbin should be fired
    3. ireland fired
    4. sherman fired
    5. defense can be a defense to get you by and win with
    6. biased fans should never post if you know nothing about football

Im not even going to address the rest of your post, because to be honest, I stopped reading it. So apparently you think our defense wasn't an issue in any game all year. How many 3rd and longs did we give up to extend drives for opposing teams this year? Enough said.

Take some of your own advice. As I glance at the screen and see your last line, point 6 about biased fans... again, take your own advice. I've criticized the QB plenty this year around here, not that you'd know that though. I assume you won't take your own advice and stop posting, so I'll do it for you by adding you to my ignore list!

So glad this garbage thread finally got moved to the rant forum.

In correct as usual from you.I understand if you leave plays on the field in his case the long ball every ****ing game you end up out of the playoffs. If he hit Wallace in stride we would be up 14-0 and its a different game.
Ryan tannehill has no touch on the long ball and if you can't see that I feel sorry for you.
