So, hire yet, ANOTHER failed head coach who has outdated offensive philosophies to be the OC? Sure, why not?
Rex isn't going to be fired IMO. His win today probably just guaranteed he wont be actually. What he's done with that mediocre roster, probably would have gotten us easily into the playoffs if he had our roster. As for Kubiak... no thanks. Not another re-tread.
And Sherman was better than what we had in Henning. That doesn't mean he was good. Kubiak would be a bad fit.
So, you would fire a head coach for going 8-8 only to hire a head coach who routinely goes 8-8 with superior talent?
Kubiak ... ummm, N-O ... did he have some bad 'luck' in HOU, sure -- but he did nothing to show me he is a superior coach ...
NO, coño! ENOUGH with the failed retread good ol' boy types! And as for Shanahan—have we learned NOTHING about hiring the elderly after Henning and Sherman?
That failed coach's offense kicked the Dolphins *** every time they played them when he was the Texans HC. In fact they had a a very effective offense, until this year. Especially when you consider that they had a very mediocre QB running their offense for the past several years. I wouldn't want him as the HC, but I would love to see him as the OC of the Dolphins.
From what I read Shanahan is close to retirement anyways. He's getting paid 7 million to do nothing next year.
I guess there's some shades of Mike Sherman in the Gary Kubiak idea. When Kubiak was hired to be the head coach he had never called plays as an offensive coordinator. Mike Shanahan always insisted on keeping that duty. I know Section126 isn't a fan of the idea. On the surface it looks good. But on the surface so did Mike Sherman.
