I know this has been mentioned before but I feel if Marino was ever going to make a return, he needs to do it now. He needs to do it during a transitional period. I know he doesn't want to give up his comfy seats at CBS but this would be a perfect time for him to come back. Just his presence alone would do a lot for this team.

He's not going to give up his comfortable job at CBS for a stressful job cleaning up the clown show in Davie. You all forget he has no experience in talent evaluation or front office management. Elway has that experience having ran an arena football league before.

Besides, he makes it no secret that he's a Steelers' fan....

Marino is not our wet-nurse. He is our legend and our best ever player but his era is over and we need to learn to play without him.

What exactly will Marino do for the organization? I love Marino just as much as anyone, but he's not the answer. We need youth. We need creativity. We need someone that isn't stuck I'm their own ways and is willing to maximize our player's talents.

Exactly. Just look @ John Elway and the 2013, 1st place, Denver Broncos. Oh, wait...

Please. As if the Dolphins organization deserves to suckle on the teats of greatness.

The difference is that Elway and Marino are totally different personalities. The traits that made Dan a great QB don't necessarily translate into being a great football executive.

I agree. I wasn't referring to that. I was referring to the poster suggesting we needed "youth and creativity." I was simply pointing out that Elway went out and traded a new school option QB in favor of an old fashion pocket passer. Then went out and got an old school defensive HC in John Fox. "New and creative" is a bunch of pointless nonsense.

He traded Tim Tebow and got one of the greatest QBs in Manning. Of course he's going to have success.

Didn't they try this experiment and Dan had a love child?

Are you trying to state the Marino is not a fan of the team he played for his entire career?
    Laughable.
Yes he's a Steeler fan as he grew up in Pittsburgh and they were his hometown team.
That said he's made it VERY clear how much he loves the Dolphins organization.
The things people try to say about this guy is amazing.

Marino isn't going to solve any of the issues on this team.
He's a Hall of Fame player deserving of respect but he has not shown he has the desire to be an NFL coach or executive.

don't forget guys that Marino wasn't given the authority that he really needed so no one can succeed like that .

And I'm not certain Elway is either. Its easy when you piggy back off moves others make like Decker and Thomas.and then "sell" one of the best ever to play a few years and sign a guy who averages 100 catches a year. Deck was stacked for the guy. Lets see how they do when Peyton is done
