By the way, if you haven't seen it? Go watch Keenan Allen's TD last night.

I thought Minnesota would give Patterson more opportunities, but then again that coaching staff is getting fired with cause.

I think his targets have shot up drastically the past few weeks.

I always kinda liked the way Atlanta "groomed" Julio Jones, especially in the preseason.

Cordarrelle Patterson scored another touchdown this weekend. Keenan Allen scored two. That brings Allen into a tie with Tavon Austin with 7 TDs and Patterson in a tie with Marlon Brown with 6 TDs.

It's funny but some coaches do really feel that way. Willie Taggart had Aaron Lynch cut his hair to show that he was getting a lot more serious about football and school.

Back on the topic of Keenan Allen, this is appropriate:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ays-he-considered-quitting-early-this-season/

This is what I and some others were referring to prior to the draft when we talked about Keenan Allen's character and attitude getting in his own way. He was essentially a missed phone call away from quitting football thinking he was going to be a rapper or producer, because the San Diego Chargers didn't put their 2nd round pick onto the field during the first game of his rookie season.

    Think about that.

Now try and imagine what might have/would have happened in Miami if he'd been here this year, behind Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson, with the history that OUR coaching staff has with putting rookies on ice until they are absolutely sure they're ready.

    Think about that.

Interesting WR class around draft time, still very interesting now.

Patterson's athletic ability is freaky. He's just incredible with the ball in his hands at that size. His athleticism jumps off the screen even against NFL defenses. He has the potential to be a special big-play threat if they can find a consistent QB. If he cleans up his route-running some, having only played high-level football for a couple years, geeze this kid could be tremendous.

Rams fans are starting to get hyped about Stedman Bailey, I know. For good reason, too, just a natural football player. Austin got nicked, but it seemed like he was getting a feel for NFL speed and his role.

Allen looks great. He's a force in the redzone, he does great work over the middle, catches it great in traffic. A 3rd round rookie WR catching 67 balls at 14.5per? That's fantastic. And he's 21 years old.

Marlon Brown has been okay, filled in as an option for Flacco. Better than you expect from an UDFA, but I suspect they'll draft a guy who'll take some of Brown's snaps.

Not sure what to make of Hopkins. Just don't see much consistent separation, but that offense is such a mess and it looks like he's primarily a deep guy. Interested to see how he develops and fits in that passing game.

We say that now but would they have produced the same under this coaching staff? I'm goign out on a limb and say no. Some might even say there are wasted picks if they didn't produce the same with our coaching staff. Or even the coaching staff doesn't know how to use them correctly as we have seen with some players.

Keenan Allen straight up balled. So wrong about him, same with Woods.

I felt Patterson, and Austin would have a bigger impact and Patterson did have a huge impact on the Vikings but man so wrong on the Allen and Woods.

Hill or Alshon or really any draft pick would have been a lot more productive and conducive to winning than Jonathan Martin, the guy you called a "potential future all pro" lmao.

but it's okay...all those ****ty drafts from the man you and the ISG supported is about to lead to his dismissal...loooong overdue.

no no no... you don't get to childishly move the goal posts now by adding in "or Alshon" after you vehemently banged the drum specifically for Stephen Hill who has NOT been any more productive and conducive to winning than Martin. The guy was f***ing benched for being such a disappointment. Just man up to the fact that the player you thought Ireland should've been fired for not drafting [Hill] has been a bad 2nd round pick thus far, so perhaps you should fire yourself, too.

Secondly, are your ears made of silly puddy?.... b/c if not, your brain might be with the way you frequently make up stuff that others have never said in order to criticize them. I didn't call Martin a potential future all pro. I compared Martin to Duane Brown's situation and how fans called for his head early in his career before developing into an All Pro. Here are the posts themselves.
What I found ironic in the above thread is this post by you:

So how'd that Oline turn out? Still think it's not a need? In hindsight you were obviously wrong and clearly lacked the ability of anticipation. Oline has proven to be the biggest need, and by you ignoring it in 2012 you would've been in support of the disaster it shortly became thereafter. Furthermore, even if WR were as big a need as RT, your solution [Stephen Hill] wouldn't have been the answer, so you would've been as wrong as the GM you despise so much. FYI- if you were GM and had already wasted a 2nd on Hill, you wouldn't have had the freedom to use following first rounder on that guy in your signature, which I find entertaining. And AT SOME POINT you would actually have to address that putrid offensive line that you seem to enjoy ripping on so much despite not wanting to spend the resources to fix it. Oh but that's right- slap a Lydon Murtha bandaid on it and everything's copasetic.

    I had it as Austin/Eifert ..Allen..woods..

Patterson I was skeptical about as a true receiver..thought he was electric when the ball is in his hands but didn't trust his hands enough ..he came on strong at the end of the year at returner and they were getting him the ball on the wildcat, reverses, and screens...smart.

I felt like the only one aside from Aqua and LB that preferred Patterson to Austin. I really think he deserved to be picked in the top 10 as well. I knew however, for fantasy football purposes that (once Malcolm Floyd went down) Allen was going to be the guy to produce year 1, even though I was terrified that we'd pick him rnd 2. He came into a great situation and was more NFL ready. Awesome waiver pickup right there.

Did y'all hear Allen's recent admission that he almost quit football in the preseason because he wasn't a starter day 1 ? WTF ? Californians.

I saw Patterson as a Bigger Harvin. Certainly not better at WR but just as Dynamic in every other area. I really thought Minnesota would have used him more in the offense. Use him out of the backfield/bubble screens but I don't think they ran 1 bubble screen to him. He did have some big time drops in the RZ which are a concern but he changes games in so many ways.

I think that's an accurate evaluation, heard that from a few folks predraft, bigger Austin when he has the ball in his hands..he had 45 catches with a ten yard average which tells me they don't trust him downfield yet..he's not that smart so it might take him some time to learn the route tree and his role..
