No ****. They wouldn't be any worse off if they did. Or even made decisions based on fan polling. That's what's sad about this team and has been for a decade: the good teams you can take it with some confidence that their GM and scouts and coaches know more than the fans and media talking heads. With the Dolphins, it's just the opposite, the fans and talking heads have consistently outguessed the front office.
I'm thinking you really don't believe that or you haven't thought it through. To say an owner doesn't care how successful his team is, would be like saying they don't care how much money they make. The better his team does the more money he makes, but more importantly, the more respect he gets as an owner. People don't buy NFL football teams as a good investment, there are plenty of better ways to make money, they do it to show off to the public how good they can run them. It is an ego trip. Right now if he sold the dolphins he would have to do so at a loss. No way he would get what he bought it for.
Finally Youll stop whining and talk football ............... ............... oh crap, Looks like another year with 200 rant threads on the same exact topic.
Its not difficult to make it to the playoffs. What we did by missing the playoffs actually went against the odds. That's on the players!!!
Reports were also that he was told earlier in December that his job was safe. As much as I'd like it, he's not going anywhere this year.
I think it's Communism. The cadres keep their jobs even without getting results, while the people continue to live in misery.
I think 2014 is put up or shut up time. They havent shown much of a sense of urgency for the past two years, I think that changes now bc the honeymoon is officially over after the BS ending to this season.
They gave the Fist Pumper an extension before they fired him, and he continued to collect his paycheck even after he went to the Jets, didn't he? I think he stays for 2014. Ross says something like: "Jeffy, I love you, but if you don't bring in a good offensive line this time, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to let you go. Go go."
That was different. Ross and Ireland were caught trying to hire Harbaugh so they did the dog and pony show even though every one knew his *** was good as gone.
People are fired in the NFL with years left on their contracts all the time. Contract extensions mean nothing.
They mean nothing and I'm not backpedalling. Sparano was fired with 2 years left on his deal, those are the facts.
This year should not have been a honeymoon for Ireland. It should have been over - and the way Ross talked after last year, it sounded like it - before this year began. Their aggressiveness in free agency and the draft should have been a sign: the honeymoon is over - put up or shut up. It is a failure at this point.
