Was thinking the same thing, what OC would want to come in under these circumstances?

Just got this update while at work and I have to say that something is better than nothing. Ireland was and is way more of a problem than Sherman and he has torches and pitchforks outside his door, and rightly so.

Step in the right direction and certainly puts the "Sherman runs the team" theory to bed.

Agreed. This has the potential to be a pretty uncomfortable mess. Half measure.

My only hope is that this Wells report buries Ireland, I want him gone more than Sherman and I wanted Sherman gone badly. The on-field product for all to see buried Sherman.

We always said can GM/OC and roll with Coach for another year....good to see they are halfway...

huh? What circumstances would that be?

Can we stop pretending we're the only team to ever be in this situation?

Will wait and see what else happens, but this is exactly what I didn't want. Not that I liked Sherman, but I would prefer an all or nothing approach to a half measure.

    @ArmandoSalguero

It's not over. Don't be shocked if Jim Turner, whose OL allowed more sacks than any other in franchise history, is not back for 2014.

The Ravens fired Cam Cameron and won a Superbowl. The Dolphins only had a single losing season under Sherman though.

You are. If you think no one will come here to OC then you think we're in a unique situation OR you think some other teams in a similar situation had to play without an OC....which is it?

There is a situation though. If Philbin and Ireland stay, they'd be in a last strike sort of situation. It presents a tough circumstance of coming to a team with a potential lame duck HC and GM.

Based on the vice grip Ireland has had on this job, I'd say we're 20% there. Ireland's voodoo is much stronger than Philbin and Sherman's friendship.

I remember seeing us run a draw play last season. We tried the screen a few times, usually to WRs, but other than Pouncey the OL was usually too slow to get out in front and block anyone.

Carolina this year immediately comes to mind. 7-9 last year. Kept HC and DC but got a new OC. And went 12-4.

Points scored, by year (League Rank):

    2013 - 317 (26th)
    2012 - 288 (27th)
    2011 - 329 (20th)
    2010 - 273 (30th)
    2009 - 360 (15th)
    2008 - 345 (21st)

This team hasn't been able to consistently score points in a half-decades worth of time. The problems run much, much deeper than scheme and cherry-picked playcalling issues.

meh i don't have a problem with sherman being fired but Philbin let the offense be ran that way so i don't see much changing tbh.

I don't think that is the reason. But they are a very recent example of a team with a losing record that merely changed its OC and improved significantly.

Alright Jesus. How about instead of playing a game of semantics you offer up an answer to a question I asked?

How about an OC or offensive staff being replaced? How about a team that went 8-8 or worse? Is that better?

If this move was made because Joe Philbin wanted a change, so be it. I'm not really sure why anyone believes this offense will suddenly improve with a new coordinator considering the deficiencies this team has with offensive personnel.

Mr. McMahon was a much better villain. He took bumps for the business.

Where is our Stone Cold Steve Austin to run out to the executive box and stun his ***? Mad Dog would have made a great Jim Ross.

By the way, we both know that was said in jest but you've been holding that pic in for a while and wanted to fish for Fist Pumps.

Shouldn't you be scouting right now Jeff?
